  1. I wonder where they get their merchandise if Klipsch isn't providing it. Joe
  2. Thanks Bob, But I got a better price at a local dealer that is listed on the site. The price was much better than The Wiz, so It was worth the wait (it wasn't in stock). I just ordered it about 5 minutes ago and I'm already inpatient! I got the RC-5 for $265.00 plus tax. The lowest The Wiz would go was $314.00 plus tax. CAN'T WAIT! Joe
  3. Thanks Tom, that's a great idea. It's nice to hear from another RC3 fan. I'm hoping it'll be a nice addition to the KG4.5s. Joe

Keith What's the model Keith? Joe
  5. Hey Foost, Glad to hear you're happy with the RC3. Makes feel beter about spending the $$. I'm upgrading from a KV1. I'm gonna try to visit local small guy, but his hours aren't very convenient. I wonder why The Wiz isn't an authorized dealer? Are they dealing in grey market goods, by any chance? Hmmmm. Joe
  6. Hey Foost, That's kinda how I feel, too, but the auction thing is hard not to get involved in. I guess it's the idea that I can buy at a good price from either the local dealer or another Klipsch enthusiast who is parting with the speaker I am upgrading to. I am attracted to purchasing from someone who's store I can easily revisit, who will spend the time to share experience and who could use the help competing w/giant wholesalers who don't have the time, interest or knowledge to help me (though I'm no fool, even the local dealer is a salesperson who wants my money). Joe
  7. thanks to some of you, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get a new RC3. My options include: 1. The Wiz for $359.00 2. Acousticsounddesign.com for $249.00 3. ebay auction (for who knows what) 4. Local dealer who is actually listed as an authorized Klipsch Dealer (unlike The Wiz) for whatever amount he is charging (I haven't been to the dtore yet). Any suggetsions? I could use the advice as I am not an experienced shopper (previous kg3.5s, kv1 and sw10 II were purchased from The Wiz and the Sony DA30ES from Crutchfield). Thanks in advance!! Joe
  8. OUCH! All this SONY bashing! I have a DA30ES that I paid under $700 for (I think, it was awhile ago). Do I have to go back out and start comparing receivers again? Joe
  9. BOBG!! EUREKA!! I had a similar sound from my KV-1, investigated and what I have is your well described "sonic weld" that has clearly "broken free" on BOTH woofers! I guess I should check the tweeter too. Any other damage likely? Would replacing the woofers fix the problem? I was considering replacing the center anyway, but is the KV-1 a lost cause or might I be able to use it on another setup? Joe
  10. Hi Keith, Thanks for the input. While I listen to music alot, I think HT is more important (esp. since we are talking center and surrounds... I usually use only the two main speakers for music). OK, you guys have convinced me, center it is! Now I just have to decide which one sounds better and which I can afford. That'll be fun! I should go w/a new center speaker anyway since I think it fell off the entertainment center and sounds pretty sloppy. I was thinkin' I might just replace the cones, but who knows if that's the problem? Joe
  11. quote: Originally posted by dougdrake: That said, the ideal center would be a single KG4.5. Not sure what your physical layout is, but if you can creatively fit one into the setup, you'll have the best possible center speaker for your setup Doug By the way, why doesn't Klipsch's speaker matching chart suggest this? It does seem to make sense, even if it is impractical for most people. Joe
  12. That's interesting! I don't know how the wife would feel about a kg4.5 on top of the entertainment center (lol). I'm surprised you suggested the kv-3 over the RC-3. I wouldn't have thought of that since they aren't made anymore. Do you think the KV-3 is better than the RC-3 for this system, or just less expensive? I like the direction this is going. Thanks for the help! Joe
  13. I have limited cash and it has taken me 10 years to accumulate what I have, where will I get the most bang for my buck? Thanks for the input! 1. RC-3 OR 2. RS-3? Current setup is SONY DA30ES KG 4.5 Front KV-1 Center KS 1.1 Surrounds SW 10 II Sub
  14. I have a pair of KG 4.5 speakers in the front and KSB1.1 speakers in the back with a KV-1 in the center. I'd like to upgrade the 1.1s and maybe the KV-1 (I think it fell off the entertainment center and has a very sloppy sound). Any suggetsions? I've checked out the suggestion under Home Audiom but I'm wondering if there are any other possibilities.
  15. My KV-1 developed a nasty distortion and if you push gently on the right woofer, it feels and sounds like something is scratching or rubbing. What is it and what can I do???? I'm using 2 KG4.5 speakers in frot with two KSB1.1 speakers in the rear. It's possible that it fell off the entertainment center and someone won't fess up! :-( HELP!
