  1. Outdated technology, I would not spend that much on either unit. Offer $100...
  2. I've had the 73" version for almost 3 years and could not be happier with it.
  3. You can make it work with a pre/pro that doesn't have HDMI, but the sound quality will suffer. You will not realize it however until you go HDMI for all components, there is a significant difference IMO.
  4. I am racking my brain trying to figure out why you would want to turn your system on and off using that method... You already state that the amp will run off a trigger from your pre/receiver... If you kill the power to your pre/receiverand tv, you will probably loose all of your settings everytime you power up. I have been running my amp off the trigger on the pre for more than 10 years, never had a problem with it.

    New Towers

Well, I've been curious about and looking for KLF-20s for the better part of a year. In February, I thought that I had some, but after a 3 hr drive to Austin, I find out that the guy is selling KLF10s instead of 20s, I was FURIOUS!! The pics that he put on line were of 20s, but he was using pics that his brother had taken, basically it was a screwed up mess. Then I get a PM from a new member who has some in Lubbock, so I set off on another road trip (over 5 hours this time), and I finally brought them home. After 12 hours in the truck yesterday, I was lucky to even get them in the house and hooked up, so reviews to follow soon. Here is a pic of them set up next to my RF7s that I plan to do A/B comparisons on. They will then become part of a two channel set up in another room in my house.
  6. I'll contact some freight forwarders for you tomorrow when I get inot the office. I might just have them call you to get all of the pertinent information.
  7. Being in the logistics business, that seems extraordinarily high for shipping a 90 lb carton. Have you tried contacting a freight forwarder in the US to get your own shipping quote? Would you like my help finding a carrier that can handle this freight for you? Where are you located? I'm curious now....
  8. My room is 25 X 25] IMO that is a very large room and you would see a lot of benefits from an external amp, I would stick to 200wpc to ensure that you have the headroom that you need.[Y]
  9. ^^Agreed. One of the members has a small room and didn't really notice the difference when he bought an external amp, so you really need to consider the room size. I have a very large room and my amp makes all the difference.
  10. If you are already talking about amp, why not buy the Emotiva XPA-5/UMC-1 combo? You should be able to get both for $1400 + shipping.
  11. Whatever RCA you have plugged into the bottom hole on the amp needs to match the speaker wire that is hooked up above it. So if you want to run the front (2), the wides (2), and the center (1) off the amp, you certainly can do that...
  12. The RCAs in to the amp need to match the speaker that is hooked up to the amp. It doesn't matter which input you use in the amp, but the input needs to match the speaker that it is driving.
  13. I just ordered the UMC-1!! My 11 year old Integra (no HDMI) is finally going to get replaced, I just couldn't pass up $500/5 yr warr/upgrade cert., too good of a deal...[]
  14. The lights on the xpa-5 are not adjustable, but the five "channel" lights are very dim. The one power light is a little bit bright, so some guys color over it with a sharpie to dim it. It does not bother me at all...
