  1. Listen you guys, if you make the investment into a reciever or amp you will be very happy in the long run. See all you do is hook it up to your sound card. This wat you can get kick *** speakers, and not have to worry about PC speakers. HEck if you like Klisch so much get there bookshelf speakers.
  2. quote: Paradigm, in one of your first posts you said you could get the paradigms for 800 can. In the link it said they were just over 700 american. Do you know anywhere you can get them that cheap? SIMPLE ANSWER = CANADA Paradigm is a Canadian company therefore there speakers are something like 35% cheaper here. The paradigm cinema series goes for $799 american, in Canada they are $899 candian
  3. So true Quist, that's what i have been telling the people looking to get the 5.1 ONE WORD PARADIGM!!!!!!!!!
  4. quote: And what do you have against Klipsch anyway they make a great product at a very good price, at least here in the US, upset that you bought the 4.1's and not the new 5.1's ? ------------------ I have nothing against KLIPSCH, I think they are a great company. Now about the HT setup you have it all wrong. All you need is a receiver or amp and hook it up to your sound card, presto!!!! Besides the 5.1 are over $600 canadian. You can get the Paradigm Cinema series which as you already know, is 10x better. I think the 4.1 are a great deal, but the 5.1 are just getting to expensive, in which your better off getting real HT speakers.
  5. The centre channel is almost idential to the sats. Klipsch probably had to do this to keep the price point down. Also the control mod looks weired. Any how this system to too expensive, and it sub is nothing impressive. I say to all of you that own the 4.1's you should be happy, and this 5.1 setup is nothing special.
  6. My friend you are right, NO DIGITAL. Listen here the best thing to do. Buy a reciever or use one if you already have one. Then go out and get real speakers to hook it up. Trust me you'll be alot happier you did it. If you don't have the cash, well then your stuck with the klipsch.
  7. quote: the 5.1's with a new sound card would be around 800-900 with tax, forget it! For that price you can get a HT set that will blow those cheap *** Klipschs away. RIP OFF
  8. quote: dont know why people would get this instead of the much cheaper 4.1 unless they wanted it for a home theater system. Well if you read the specs you will see that the 5.1 are alot better. Forget about the centre for a sec here, the sat's are of better quality, which in turn sounds better(better tweeter and cone, and crossover), the sub is 200W instead of the 4.1's 160W sub etc... I know some people are upset with the fact that Klipsch is releasing the 5.1 just shortly after the 4.1 release, but hey that's life! I recomend if you have a good reciever or amp to ditch pc speakers and get the real deal. My 0.02c This message has been edited by P_a_r_a_d_i_g_m on 05-24-2001 at 01:11 AM
  9. quote: I personally would rather buy 2 5.1 sets for $798 Are you crazy for that price you could get the PARADIGM cinema series, which will freaken blow you away and that 2 5.1 setup.
  10. quote: Amy told me the 4.1's are better for computers maybe so, but the 5.1 are alot better wheater for computer or HT.
  11. Nope , those are the over-priced Klipsch Quintets, not pro-media
  12. quote: Apparently others feel the same way. About what??? that they feel cheated?????
  13. That all depends my friends, if you already have a reciever, than your all set, just hook the reciver up to your sound card and presto.
  14. quote: so you like to cut and paste from gamersdepot.com First off if you are implying that i cut and pasted this as my own work, then you have got it all wrong. Second i was so excited that i forgot to post the url quote: Anyway I wouldn't be too exicted I only have had the 4.1 for maybe 3 month and already their is a better one Your right they are called the PARADIGM cinema series. They will put the Klipsch quintets to utter shame and even cost $400 less. SO instead of me paying 600 hundred canadian for the new 5.1 klipsch, i can get the PARADIGM cinema series for 800 hundred Canadian which out perform $1800 hundred dollar($can) satellite systems. Here is a link, the only one i have off hand right now http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/SoundAndVision/FrameSet/TestReports/Paradigm1227/paradigmp01.html I Think the 5.1 come to a price point which just really arn't worth it anymore. None the less I am very happy to see klipsch finally release a 5.1 system. So where are the damn pics?????? This message has been edited by P_a_r_a_d_i_g_m on 05-23-2001 at 02:44 AM
  15. INDIANAPOLIS (May 2001) -- Klipsch Audio Technologies has introduced the THX®-Certified ProMedia 5.1 personal audio system, a six-piece, 500-watt (RMS) set of surround sound speakers that maximize audio signals from PC and Macintosh computers as well as with digital decoders and alternate input sources such as the new PlayStation 2 and forthcoming Microsoft X-Box. The two-way ProMedia 5.1 satellite speakers include exclusive Klipsch MicroTractrix Horn tweeters that cleanly and accurately handle the high frequencies. A three-inch fiber-composite cone driver delivers smooth mid-bass reproduction. Each satellite speaker comes with a self-supporting pedestal, but Klipsch also offers accessory upgrades such as telescopic floor stands and adjustable wall brackets through the klipsch.com web site. The magnetically shielded center channel uses the same Klipsch MicroTractrix Horn tweeter and three-inch fiber-composite cone woofer as each satellite speaker, ensuring an ideal blend and seamless driver transition. The center channel comes with rubber non-slip stabilizing feet, new spring-clip wire terminals, and a rear-post adjustment for angle optimization. The high-output, low distortion subwoofer is a bass-reflex type with a flared, tuned front port and two 8-inch side-firing woofers. The 500-watt BASH® amplifier and Klipsch engineering offer high output with low distortion and effortless dynamic headroom. BASH® (Bridged Amplifier/Switching Hybrid) amplifiers are powerful, conventional amplifiers with digital switching-type power supplies, which are efficient, high-output, low distortion designs that deliver superior sound quality over conventional Class-D amps. The user-friendly control tower features separate main, center, rear and subwoofer volume controls as well as a digital LED volume level display and an on/off or headphone listening mode switch. It also has two stereo miniplug jacks, one for headphone output and one for the convenient connection of portable audio devices and any other alternative source that uses a stereo miniplug output. Reasonably priced ($399.99 U.S. MSRP) the ProMedia 5.1 will be available for purchase at specialty audio stores, and on the klipsch.com web site. ENJOY

  17. that's not hoffy, I saw that pic almost a year ago on a psx2 froum, used to diss the XBOX. Then DailyRADAR posted that pic a about 6 months ago.
  18. All I have to say is I hope you didn't Buy a DVD AUDIO CD cause that will not play in any DVD player, you need a DVD AUDIO player to read those CD's. Now if you bought a DVD CD with music on it, than it should work.
  19. Hell i'll stick with my 16/10/42x plexor burner
  20. Hell i have one of there burners, but just to let you know something, CREATIVE, SONY, etc.. don't make burners, RICOH does and then sells them to CREATIVE and SONY. As for the sound cards, THOSE are made by creative = we don't like to innovate+ instead we like to recycle old tech and make it look new so that we can milk more money on PC users. Creative spokes man says: THE Philips AE is worthless, it's full of bugs and will never work, please don't buy them, AE can't really decode DD 5.1 and this QMSS chip is all hype, instead all it does is distort and rune the sound. LOL, LOL
  21. quote: i dont see how the paradigms in that link can be any better than the ones that come with the promedia, It looks like the Exact same design and driver size... similar power output aswell. I could understand if they had a 4.5" or something but it looks like the exact same thing... I hope this explains why i posted that last thread. quote: quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paradigm always makes speakers that sound like they are worth twice as much for what you paid for. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Same with anything that klipsch has made so far. By the way, don't give me this, same thing for the kilpsch's, they are nothing like the Paradigms, and never will be. Sound and Vision knows what they are talking about, besides they are not the only respected audophile reviewers that agree PARADIGM IS THE BEST, many others do as well. I have said many times before that the PRO's are kick *** multimedia speakers, but when you asserted that the paradigms were no different than the pro's i had to say something. Though i must agree with you that speakers all come down to personal preference, but no pro's media's will ever, regardless of what you prefer, sound better than the Paradigm Cinema series, not possible. Even the Quintet's as good as they sound, Paradigm beats it's pants off and cost's alot less, If you don't believe go listen to both of them, and you will see, they are just beautiful, I just wonder some times how does Paradigm make there speakers sound so good at such a low price?
  22. Swerv, LOL you got to be kidding me. Those speakers out perform the Klipsch's Quintet's and they cost alot less than them as well. So there is no way the Pro media's can even stand beside the PARADIGM cinema series. Here read the review from Sound and Vision, http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/SoundAndVision/FrameSet/TestReports/Paradig m1227/paradigmp01.html Sound and Vision said "I was amazed how acurate and detailedvery naturallots of punch and definitionsoundstage was wide and deepsounded better than a similar sub/sat system that cost twice as much Paradigm always makes speakers that sound like they are worth twice as much for what you paid for. Nothing has been able to compete with Paradigms in there price range, Not only do i say this, so does SOUND and VISION, and many others. Comparing klipsch speakers to Paradigms are a no, no PS. I love kilpsh speakers too, they are an acquired taste, there speakers tend to color, or brighten the sound. Klipsch speakers serve a certain niche in the audiophile world. I admire Klipsch, they care very much for there costumers just like paradigm does, this is something that you don't see to often.
  23. VideoLogic's sound system is good, I have heard both it, and the klipsch's. For DVD VideoLogic's are better, cause they have the centre, and believe me it makes a difference. But for video games and mp3's I tip my hat over to the klipsch's. http://www.paradigm.com/Website/SiteParadigmProduct/PModels/Cinema/Cinema_Series.html
