  1. Greetings~ I'm a novice who appreciates a quality sound system. I have slowly pieced my home theater a little at a time. I need help setting my speaker levels via my receiver. I have it all hooked up but I am not getting that wow factor. I think my levels are off. I did the auto set up with the microphone. I wasn't pleased with the sound it recommended. I am not sure what to set the levels to. I would like to achieve optimum levels that my system can produce. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Listed below is my system RECEIVER=ONKYO TX-SR807 FRONT TOWERS (PAIR)=WF-35 CENTER=WC-24 REAR SURROUND (PAIR)= VF-36 FRONT WIDE= B-2 SUB= SUB10 Respect~ FMI

  5. I recently upgraded my reciever to the ONKYO TX-NR 807 (from a ONKYO TX-SR 606). I used audioquest Type 2 cables for my towers and center. and did a in wall install for my surround speakers using monoprice 14AWG all with gold tip monster conectors. I set up the settings using the Audyssey MultEQ Correction and Speaker Setup. After completing the set up I thought the sound quality was very brassy and shallow. It left my towers (Klipsch WF-35) at 40Hz, my Center (Klipsch WC-24) at 60Hz, and my surround speakers (Klipsch B-2) at 40Hz, and my Sub (Klipsch Sub 10) ? I have scowerd the internet seeking any turorials on how to set up, along with contacting ONKYO support fot and links. They replied that the have nothing to reference besides the manuel that came with the receiver. Can anyone shed some light on this matter and advise me on the how to set up my speakers to sound thier best? I am a novice that only wants tto enjoy my system at its peak level. Any and all feed back is greatly appreciated! Respect~ FMI
  6. I have always yearned to own an ultimate home theater! One that I can sit down infront of and be blown away. So, instead of racing out and purchasing a prepackaged home theater speaker set I thought I would appreciate it more and end up with a better system if I bought each piece individually. I took me a long time, but I thought my patience had finally payed off. I saved my money, did as much research as I could (mind you I am a novice), and thought I was making good decisions with each purchase. Now I am being told that my reciever does not have enough power to run my system at optimum level! I have listed below what I have and would really appreciate feedback as to what I should do! Please advise. TOWERS = KLIPSCH WF-35 CENTER SPEAKER = KLIPSCH WC-24 SURROUND SPEAKERS = KLIPSCH B-2 REAR SURROUND SPEAKER = KLIPSCH WC-24 SUB= KLIPSCH SUB 10 RECEIVER= ONKYO TX-SR606
  7. Thanks for the advise; much appreciated! Respect~
  8. Thanks for the informative links; It appears that I will have to do a little more research. Thank you for taking the time to reply and sharing your knowledge! Respect~
  9. First, thank you for responding so quickly. To give you a brief overview of how it is going to be set up are the two towers on opposite ends of my BDI entertainment system (ruffly 10' appart {5' from the receiver}, the center channel is 2' from receive, and the sub is in the corner approximately 6' from receiver. The problem area is the surround speakers, like you I am trying to sleathly conceal the wires in the wall/ ceiling. The total length for each cable from receiver to each surround speaker taking into consideration the added length from running throught the walls/ ceiling is 15'-20' of cable from receiver to each surround speaker. I was concerned the added length would require a heavier duty cable/ larger gauge. Are you happy with the cable you purchased from Home Depot. Do you notice any distortion, or sense a loss of quality in the sound? I have purchased my system a piece at a time and I don't want to go the cheaper route and get the wrong cable that will not allow my system to perform at its optimum level. I am actually considering purchasing an Onkyo TX_SR 608 and using my 606 in another room. Do you feel that is a smart purchase or will I even notice the difference? Again, thank you in advance for you all of your insight! Much Respect~
  10. I'm currently hooking up my home theater and need advise on the best speaker wire to optimize my system. Listed below is what I'm using- Receiver = OnkyoTX-SR 606 2 Towers = Klipsch WF-35 Center Channel = Klipsch WC-24 2 Surround Speakers = Klipsch B-2 Center Rear Surround = Klipsch VC-25 Sub = Klipsch Sub-10 I am using all Monster -QuickLock Gold Banana Connector. I have about a half of a spool of Monster XP NW Compact Precision Standard High Resolution Speaker Cable with Magnetic Flux Tube & LPE Dialectric. I am not sure what AWG it is. Is this sufficient or should I invest in a different speaker wire? Please advise! Respect~

  13. I stumbled across a deal today at Best Buy I could not resist! I picked up Two WF-35 FOR $600.00 N.I.B. WC-24 CENTER CHANNEL $109.86 I held onto my B-2 for surround sound, my Sub 10, and my old Onkyo TX-SR606. The tech at the Geek Squad assured my reciever would be able to push all my speakers with no problem. I now have Klipsch VC-25 that I am not using. If anyone is interested in buying it I purchased it in Aug/09 and is flawless with light use. Please advise me If I have finally aquired a respectable system I am off to hook it up now. I look to hear and greatly value your opinions! Stay True~ FMI?
  14. I have a few more questions if you don't mind helping: 1. would I be that more impressed with the RC-62 over the VC-25? 2. is there that more noticable difference with the VF-35 / VF-36 verses the RF-62? 3. is my receiver (Onkyo TX-SR-606) able to provide enough power if I decided to step up to the center channel speaker to a RC-62, and purchase the two RF-62's, along with the Klipsch Sub-10, and my two surrounds Klipsch B-2 I already own? 4. I don't mind spending a little more cash if it really provide that "WOW" factor. I don't want overkill; just a proper system. Unfortunately the information I was given was from the sales reps at Circut City (before the closed) and the sales reps at Best Buy. I wish I would have found this forum awhile ago! It would have saved me alot of frustration and time! Any imput is greatly appreciated!
  15. Thanks for the advice; much appreciated!
