  1. Do these add any noise to amp? Ive been thinking of giving one of these a try, but figured it would add noise to input side of amp?
  2. Im running a rc-64 1st edition, paired with rf-82 fronts and rf-62 surrounds. There good centers. The timbre is not exact like it probably would be with rf-83, but it works ok. The rf-83 sounds better than rf-82, but the 83 is scarce
  3. Very nice setup!! Any chance you would separate 😂 I just want the rf7,s and rc7 . Ive been toying with the idea of moving up to rf7 from my rf-82,s. But getting the wife onboard never seems to work
  4. thanks for the replies. I have never heard any in walls, hence why i was asking. I just cant see how they could compare..Wife could care less how they sound, as long as they look good[]
  5. thats what i was afraid of..Since they are thx speakers, i was hoping they might sound as good, lol.She hates having speakers all over the living room, but i dont wanna give up sound quality
  6. wife is trying to talk me into replacing my speakers, and go the inwall speaker route. Wandering if anyone has experience with the Klipsch KL6502THX in walls, or something like them. Do they compare to tower mains?
  7. nice setup youthman...the box looks as big as the rf62 boxes[]..im looking forward to getting it, my wife not so much, lol
  8. yep..right now im running rf82, rc62, and rf62 for surrounds..im like you..really wnted the 83,s but couldnt talk myself into spending that much. I ordered a rc64 today..looking forward to getting it[]
  9. did you get these yet? Wandering how the rc64 sounds with the 82,s? I just ordered me a rc64 to replace my rc62[]
  10. im close to Tyler, east of dallas. Where ya goin to NE Tx?.....i used to do alot of work close to padre island back in the early 90,s..had some good times, lol
  11. i agree..wish i would have gotten the xpa5 now, instead of the xpa3...i'll sell ya my xpa3..then id go get a 5, lol Thanks for all the input my friends. I have been looking at Emo for a long while now. jrgreene you make me a deal I CAN NOT refuse on the XPA-3 and then well, I could not refuse. I looked around at the Carvers as suggested but I don't know enough about the value so if they are not what I am looking for I might pay too much to recoup. if you lived a little closer, i would be able to make you a deal[], neither one of us would do to good, after ups gets there share though, lol
  12. im running a monster power 1600, with everything but my sub hooked to it..you may be able to find a used one fairly cheap
  13. on my last setup, i had 7.1, but since redoing it, i went with 5.1..i think im happier with the 5.1 myself..maybe its just the way my room is setup, but for me 5.1 sounds better
  14. i agree..wish i would have gotten the xpa5 now, instead of the xpa3...i'll sell ya my xpa3[]..then id go get a 5, lol
  15. so do you just use a calibration disc? Sure makes it a pain in the a**, since on the HK, you can only see the gui and not the dvd screen, lol, i could set the onkyo in about 2 minutes..took me 15 on the hk to get all the levels right
  16. got the HK today..im kinda iffy on it. I like some of it, but not all of it, lol. 1 thing i dont like, is the internal test tones..the subwoofer level is goofy. With all the speakers calibrated, the subwoofer test tone wont get above 65db with the receiver level turned up, but flip on a movie, and the sub is way to loud. Had to use dve to calibrate. Other than that, it seems to work ok..the sound is not what i was hoping for..so those of you that said i wouldnt notice a change were right, lol..oh well i tried. Im gonna give it a day or 2 and see how i adjust to it. i did send an email to HK to ask about the goofy sub test tone problem..waiting to see what they say. Also the HK ez q auto calibration sucks[]
  17. x3 on the emo amp..i dont have any experience with denon, but the emo is nice, and makes my front stage sing..also there customer service is top notch[]
  18. well the room is actually pretty large and open, but the speakers are 98db effecient, and i have 200wpc feeding them.It dont really bother me, i just figured with them turned all the way down, i was wasting my amp wattage, lol[]. I dont pay any attention to reference on the receiver anyway, so i guess i could calibrate them closer to the 0 mark..it would just get to reference volume before the 00 on receiver
  19. when calibrating my setup using internal test tones and a sound meter, i have to set my speakers all the way down to -12, and still have around 77db. Aint i losing alot of performance, or making my amp work harder like that. Wouldnt it be better to have the speakers closer to the 0 setting?
  20. just ordered a set of rf62,s..im sure it will be better than the polks im using now. Now my system will be all klipsch, and match, lol. Thanks for all the replies and advice. Even if the rs series was a better choice..the wife would have griped from now on. 1 thing i have found out after being married 25 yrs..if the wife aint happy, nobody is happy, lol Thanks again
  21. there is no seating in the way of floorstanders..the couch is probably 8ft away from the back wall. I did just do some measuring though..and i dont think i can make 82,s work, without them sticking out.where you walk..probably would get skinned up..She has a antique drawer type deal sitting there and 1 of the 82,s would stick out past that a couple inches..the 62,s look like they would fit perfect.. i cant really press her anymore about it..cause if she had her way, we would be using some of them perty little bose cubes[]
  22. wow..that is nice..music nirvana right there[]
  23. What about the BFD? Affordable (less than $125.00) and has a 12 band PEQ? Why would you not want to remove peaks in your in room response? i wish i could figure out how to use the bfd, and rew..i have read on home theater shack about it till i was blue in the face..it just confuses the hell out of me[:^)]
