  1. Was just looking at Bill's website and see that the TT uses 8" and 10" drivers. It looks like what I need is a THT using a 15" driver, but in the dimensions of 60" x 36" x 24" in the form of a long/wide coffee table. Can you pull that off? Mike
  2. I would be interested in a Table Tuba for the living room. I currently have a THT Low Profile in my master bedroom that is paired with some Heresy's, and it is an absolute beast! I would be interested in one that is more coffee table looking. Not sure of the dimensions you can accomodate, but I could go as big as 60" long x 36" wide x 20" high. Would prefer mine in cherry. The THT uses a Eminence Lab 15 that I power with a Dayton Audio SA1000, and I will probably go the same route with this build. Let me know if interested, and we can talk. Mike
  3. Jeff, I'm saddened to hear of your sudden loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. As others have mentioned, be sure to provide a lot of support to your father. He's going to need all of you while he deals with his grief. Keep your head up brother. Time marches on... Mike
  4. I also have one of these in my bedroom... http://www.amazon.com/OSD-Audio-ATM-7-Speaker-Selector/dp/B004Y8MH3M Mike
  5. That's interesting. Nice job on it. DrWho created a switch box for me that allows me to listen to my Khorns with both my 2-ch (VRD's) and HT (Acurus A200) systems.I think Niles makes one for bare wire, but It was important for me to use banana plugs. I think there was a thread on it a few years ago. Will see if I can find it... Mike
  6. Joni Mitchell (OK, she's Canadian) Jackson Browne Neil Diamond Carole King
  7. Me too! Its supposed to go over a pool table, but I don't have one. Best I could do with it... []
  8. Yeah, I meant 904's and not 684's. If I had the room for the 904's I would still have them. :-) Mike They dont take up any more space than a Khorn ! True, but I love my Khorns with Greg's horns. Unfortunately, one of them had to go. Glad you're enjoying them though! Quite the compliment if you prefer their bottom end to the Jub bottom end. Mike
  9. Yeah, I meant 904's and not 684's. If I had the room for the 904's I would still have them. :-) Mike
  10. If the Sylvania 12AX7's and 12AX7A's are available I'll take them. Mike
  11. Did you not like them, or did you prefer the Khorns or the 684's? Just curious. Also, what horns were you using with them? Mike
  12. Search the Forum and you will find plenty of posts on the 103R. A number of them by me. I have ownd a 103, 103R, Zu Audio 103 and Zu Audio 103R, which I still use today (on my 2nd one) with my SME IV arm and Thorens TD-124 TT. I think the 103R is a fabulous cartridge for the money. I think you can still get them new for around $300 - $350, but if you really want to kick it up a notch you have to send it off to Zu and have them do their magic for another $200 or so. As for amps, listen to JBryan. I think you can do much better than McIntosh with Heritage speakers (just my opinion folks), and for less money. I had a solid state Mac at one time, and it didn't hold a candle to my VRD's. Ymmv... Mike
  13. I listen to a lot of music, and have quite a bit of rock from the 60's and 70's, although I don't listen to it as much as I used to. Having said that, the La Scala's are an outstanding rock speaker, and can go much louder than the Chorus with a lot less effort. The ALK Universal is the network to have if you like it loud. Trust me on this. :-) Mike
  14. When I had my 86's I lived with the AL crossovers for about 6 months before I pulled the trigger on some ALK Universals. What a huge difference those crossovers made! Everything about the speakers characteristics changed after installing them. Clarity and detail, attack, imaging, better bass, etc. It was like a veil was lifted off the speakers. They are a world class speaker with the right crossover imho. I know Carl's enjoying them as I write this. [] Mike
  15. Yep... too rich for my blood! [] Mike
  16. Well all I know is I have shipped 3 pair of Heresy's and all made it home perfectly in these boxes. There is a piar of KP-201's in them as we speak and should be home tomorrow. :-) Mike
  17. Bill, I would take these off your hands if I had the room for them and the money. I just bought a pair of KP-201's for the garage and I am tapped out at the moment. I hope you sell them soon! Mike
  18. Carl, I have perfect Heresy boxes that Greg Roberts made (2" solid styrofoam all the way around the speaker) that I could send him. It would probably run $50 to ship the boxes to him empty, and another $90 when he ships the speakers in them. And then you would have to ship them back to me, which is probably another $50. So probably not worth it. Mike
  19. Reach out to Tom Keady (tk49) on the wood case. He can make it out of most woods, but sourcing some woods could get expensive.Congrats on the preamp btw! I know you're gonna love it! Mike
  20. Hey Scott! So good to see your post! Yeah, I knew you were the one responsible for the face (which is beautiful btw!) and chassis, and agree it looks great all on its own, but lets face it, that wood case looks pretty good wrapped around it as well! [] Glad to see you are doing well! I will say this place misses you though. I hope you get the time to hang out with us here... Mike
