  1. Alright my unit does have the latest update. Do you think its possible that because projector scans through the inputs that it might "hop" over the HDMI input because the UMC cant load it fast enough? The HDMI is the only input being used on my projector? Ill be honest, this is kind of frustrating having to wait up to 5 min to get everything synced up. Im having thoughts of getting an Onk with pre-outs, but I want to make sure everything is right on the UMC before I make up my mind. I really like the UPA-1. Tons of clean power.
  2. The guy that sold it to me said it had the latest updates, but I have no way to know. He seemed pretty straight forward. Heres one thing that i noticed, going from watching a movie or TV where my projector is hooked in to the HDMI out, to just listening to music takes no time at all, like a couple seconds if that. Going from music to something using my projector takes a minute or so....
  3. Alright, so I got my UPA-1 and UMC-1 hooked up today, and my intitial thoughts are: The UPA-1 has a TON of power. The UMC-1 is much more complicated then a mid range AVR. I have been tweaking the UMC-1 a lot, and the thing that annoys me the most is when switching HDMI sources, my UMC takes at LEAST 30 seconds to switch and get everything together. Youthman, what can I do to help this? I used EMOQ and it actually had decent specs come out, but i had to tweak some minor things. All in all it was an upgrade, but added a LOT of compexity to my system. Maybe thats just the price of having a high end system. Thoughts???
  4. Thanks, I might end up asking some questions, but usually I can pick up on stuff relatively easily.
  5. I would look at used RF-35's or RF-82's I think they are hard to beat for versatility and they will let you get by without a sub for basic stuff. I got my RF-35s for 300 locally and that would give you 300$ to put towards reference surrounds or a sub.
  6. Youthman, What has your experience been with the UMC-1? Ive read a couple of your posts on it...any tips on set-up/settings/tricks for a soon-to-be owner? Im not experienced with the EQ as I have only used Audyssey with Denon.
  7. Welp, I ordered a B-stock UPA-1 mono and Im gunna pick up the UMC for 200$. For now, I could only afford one UPA-1, but im going to hook it up to my RC-64 and I expect a nice difference. The UMC seller said he had updated everything with the new firmware. I cant wait to get everything set up! Im totally a sucker for the blue lights.
  8. I wish I could listen to someone's set-up with separates. Ive never heard a system with separates...I just dont know if the $800 for a UMC + Amp would be justified for a marginal upgrade.
  9. I do use the Audyssey MultEQ and its nice, but im sure the EmoQ would be comparable. I definitely push the Denon pretty hard, and I just feel like the difference in SQ would be worth the UMC-1 + XPA-3. I havent seen many XPA-3s on audiogon though. My problem would probably be patience to wait on a deal for the XPA-3 haha. Im one of those guys who likes to slowly spend money, and slowly upgrade. My budget as of right now is about $7-800 for both the processor and the amp, I can get the UMC for 250 also. So ive got about 500 left for whatever EMotiva amp I can find
  10. Also...if I do choose to get a UMC-1, will I be able to power my surround speakers with my denon? Essentially using it as an amp, and then power my front 3 with an XPA-3.
  11. Hello all, I have a question as to which way I want to go. I currently run a Denon AVR 1910 with 90w x 7 of power, and currently I have 2 x RF-35s, an RC-64, and RB-15s. The denon doesnt have enough power to really utilize the RC-64 or RF-35s, so I am seriously looking into emotiva amps, but unfortunately my receiver doesnt have pre-outs. I know I want an emotiva amp, probably an xPA-3, but would you guys recommend a mid range receiver with pre-outs, like an onkyo, or would you recommend I purchase a used UMC. What would be the key differences? Thanks!
  12. Ya, the guy was nice, his name was louis, and I told him to pack it WELL haha. It was $400 plus $45 shipping, He also said he just got an RT-12d, but he was going to list it at 700. I thought the RT-10d for pretty much half was a lot better idea hahah.
  13. Hey everyone! I just ordered an RT-10d from audiogon for $445 shipped! I cant believe it. Currently Im running 2 x Polk PSW505 which are 300RMS each with 12" woofers. Im thinking the RT-10d will easily replace those with a ton to spare! Any suggestions for set-up and calibration? This will be my first digital sub Jon RF-35s RC-64 RB-15s Denon 2310 Polk PSW505s (2)
  14. Hello all, I need to know the part no. / what driver will fit my RC-64. I bought one cheap with a small nick in one woofer and decided I could just replace it. I emailed klipsch customer support. Is there anything else I should do/ tips for replacing it? Thanks
  15. So I believe I have finally arrived at my final home theater setup. 4xRF-35s for fronts and surround rears, and an RC-35 center. Oh and btw I got them all for $700 through various deals. Im a college student and have slowly upgraded over time, and I always shop for a value. I really believe in the whole match as much as you can speech and now that i've got this system, it was worth upgrading. I am also running RS-62s as side surrounds, but Im probably going to get rid of those because I just could use some extra money....I am in college after all haha. Anybody interested in a pair of great RS-62s....id sell em for 650 if you take care of shipping. Im in arkansas but I go to kansas city every couple of weeks. Does anyone else have multiple RF-35s or RF-82s?? What sort of recommendations do you have for settings and things of that nature? Jon
