  1. I've been wanting to buy some Pro-Medias for years now. It's too bad the company seems to be having troubles now. I guess I will have to find a 5.1 solution somewhere else.
  2. Does the 2.1 control pod have a mic jack on it? How do you think things would work with non klipsch satelites?
  3. I know this question has been asked before, but I can not seem to find the thread. Is it possible to get just a promedia sub from somewhere?
  4. You know I might have that backwards. IT was about a month ago that I noticed this with his speakers, and I haven't really checked them out since. I know I hooked the 2.1 satellites into the 4.1 sub, but I thought I remember hooking the 4.1's front satellites into the 2.1 sub and getting sound from the satellites and the 2.1 sub. When I tried hooking the 2.1 satellites to the 4.1 sub, I got not sub. The same thing is happening with a 4.1 labtec system at my office. I just wondered if you get no sub without all the inputs. I mean I have a 2.1 system. When I plug it into my computer, I get all this bass from my sub. HE hooks his 4.1 system into my computer and nothing. The sub is completely out. I've had a couple 2.1 systems where the sub cuts off when you unplug the satellites. I just thought the same thing might be going on.
  5. I just have a question about 4.1 speaker systems in general. Does the sub turn-on if you don't have a 4.1 sound card? I notice that the suggestion given with most 4.1 speaker systems when you dont have a 4.1 soundcard is connect both front and rear outputs but only front inputs. I know people with 4.1 speaker systems, and they said this does allow them to hear sound out of all 4 speakers. But I noticed something the other day. I was at a friend's house and his sub was not on. HE was getting sound from both speakers but no sub. I hooked just the front speakers to a 2.1 sub, and it came on. Are 4.1 subs designed not to turn on without all inputs or does he just need a new sub?

No way!! http://www.tracertek.com/inca_88.htm Do you want to say I bought the live drive or a pro audio 8ch recording studio with ultra low latency software?(it does games and DVDs too) The platinum is not the only 5.1 SB card.
  7. You know it would be nice if they sold stands as accesories on the site. I guess I'll use the ones from VSS with my 5.1's. Maybe I'll put the center channel on 1.
  8. I'm probably gonna the satellites on stands and put the center channel on the top shelf of my computer desk, they won't be right up on me.
  9. I plan on getting a new system at the end of the year. I will probably wait and get it all at the same time.
  10. To be honest with you, every product I've had to ever return for a replacement: game controllers, printers, and monitor; I was asked to pay the postage to send the bad set back. And I have never gotten a fast delivery on the replacement.
  11. quote: Originally posted by Quistes: I totaly agree, spending 299 for the 4.1's is a heck of a lot of money for computer speakers. When i told people they were like, why the hell would you spend that much on computer speakers? So the 5.1's are out of the questions, just buy a HT setup, or use the money to start a good one. Well if you spent that much on the 4.1, then the price should be ok for the 5.1 if you don't have 4.1 already.
  12. I kinda have wondered the same thing since 5.1 systems first start coming out. I'm glad that pic was big, I couldn't tell that that little thing was the control tower on the pic on gamespot's site. I guess you put it either next to the top or on top like it is in that that or on top of the sub. In my house I have a similar setup. I have in each of the front corners and each of the back corners, then I have the center speaker on top of the TV, which is against the center of the front wall. I keep changing my mind about the subs. Sometimes I have one on each side of the tv. Sometimes I put them against the back wall. I was kinda surprised that the center channel was exactly like the other sattelites. But since the rear channel looks different, that's cool. Maybe you need stand for the rear speakers as well as the center. This message has been edited by Sonic98 on 05-24-2001 at 02:38 PM
  13. The 5.1 system is supposed to be about $390. I don't if it's Dolby or DTS or other features. But it will be a total of 500 watts and be about $390. I wonder if they should have made the center channel slightly more powerful than the other 4 like around 80 watts.
  14. I just saw info bout the 5.1's on another site. Check out my reply inm the other 5.1 thread
  15. I recently went to www.gamersdeopot.com They said the 5.1 system would be announced in another day or so. The satellites will still be 60 watts but the sub will be bumped up to 200. I don't know much about the features or specs, but it should be pretty good.
