  1. $150 plus shipping? Anyone have a need for these?
  2. thanks everyone - first step is to try the settings in the Sony Blu Ray player - it is connected through HDMI to my NAD.
  3. From what I Have read I don't think there were a great deal of these produced.
  4. Thanks looking forward to getting it all hooked up!
  5. Thanks it is more of a question of sound quality over capability my Sony absolutelynos capable of cd playback but there is a noticeable difference in quality when I use my older denon CD player instead and I am trying to simplify and have less components.
  6. Hey folks - I am trying to simplify life - in our living room system we have an older but still working (and pic is beautiful) Sony ES series blu ray player - the only shortcoming of this player is that if we use it as a CD Player the sound is lackluster - I temporarily installed my circa 1990 Denon 5 disc player and it blows it away - are the newer Blu Ray players like the Oppo units up to par with CD play? Just curious what other peoples experience has been.
  7. Anyone have interest in the McIntosh Amp before I post on Audiogon or Ebay? I'll consider a reasonable offer and willing to ship.
  8. For awareness we did finalize a deal on the Pioneer yesterday. Thanks James
  9. I may be interested in the pioneer sent PM and would like to see pics. Also do you ever travel towards Portland area I am in southern ME.
  10. I was using with the Marantz show in pic as a pre and my ADS L810's in my basement system. Sounds fantastic!
  11. SCORE! Found a near mint pair of RS-3ii within an hour of home on CL for $200 - they are on the wall and what a nice upgrade from the RS-41 - much more balanced with the Forte's in the front.
  12. I will add pics tomorrow, purchased new always used in Non-smoking home - sound excellent just had an opportunity to "upsize" to some RS-3ii in great condition. I don't know what the fair going rate is on these, so I'll throw out $180 plus shipping and assume people can help me adjust if I am off or offer accordingly if interested. I am located in Southern Maine.
  13. Posting this here before I list on e-bay. I am the 2nd owner of this beauty - it is 100x2 into 8 ohms or 4 ohms, also bridgeable to 200x1. This unit has original manual. It has never been serviced but seems to work perfectly. I am located in Southern Maine willing to meet up as far as Boston, MA area or make arrangements to pack and ship at buyers expense. I will take some additional pics the Marantz in the picture shown is NOT for sale. Chrome is in great shape and it is very clean overall. I don't have the original box so if someone wants shipping services would need to also have it professionally packed and insured but I am willing to coordinate this. I have used this with my KG5.5 and it sounds great clean and clear McIntosh sound. This was a fairly rare amp very few made from what I have read. I am selling off a few items trying to simplify I have a local bite on a couple of Adcom components but if that falls through I'll post that here as well. More info on this particular model (the pictures in the link are NOT of my amp, this is another ad for same model) http://mcc.berners.ch/power-amplifiers/MC754.pdf Any questions let me know.
  14. Would also consider RS25 trying to keep cost down but find something that works reasonably well with the forte fronts and academy center. Currently have RS-41 which are not bad but something nearer the efficiency of the others would make it more balanced just need a touch more out of the surrounds. Thanks!
  15. Anyone have a pair kicking around from an upgrade and willing to ship to Maine for reasonable price. They are for living room so condition is important too. THanks for consideration of my request. James
  16. Update: Found out - I was able to find a pair of KG4 that had one emblem and kept the emblem but passed along the KG4 to a friend sans emblems!
  17. Update: SOLD! THanks to all here for the wealth of knowledge and input - the guy that bought them was replacing a pair of KLF10 and I think everyone walked away happy!
  18. I live in Southern Maine and there is a local seasonal amusement park "Funtown" that has an indoor ride called "Astrosphere" - it basically is an indoor twirl ride in the dark and has a great light show - in this "arena" they had and still have La Scalas in each corner they would play the instrumental parts of ELO "Fire on High" during the ride - left a permanent impression and everyone in this area talks about that experience and wanting "Speakers like that" - that was in high school - then while in college my girfriend's brother in law had a pair of Cornwall 2 with a Rotel pre and 100x2 amp - we stayed up all night listening to all kinds of classic rock and I was hooked.. went out the next week with him to the local klipsch dealer here in Maine and while my ears wanted the Forte - they had floor model KG5.5 on sale and I went home with those - NO REGRETS! The KG5.5's served me well and I still have them - along with Forte's too! http://wjbq.com/the-history-of-funtown-spalshtowns-most-unique-ride/
  19. THanks all for the input - I had bought these to flip them, they sound fantastic but just way too big for our space - and I really could use the cash for christmas - I had considered parting them out since the cabs are not perfect but I have a hard time doing that when they sound so damn good!
  20. PM Sent - hoping you might consider shipping!
  21. Hi Folks - I have a pair of Walnut Forte that are my living room speakers, I acquired a Walnut Academy speaker that is mint condition other than missing the badge - I know the Academy has a different badge but I'd like one to match the Forte's and it is the same as the KG4's I have.. Anyone have one haven't seen any on e-bay recently. Thanks! James
  22. Hi folks - Up for sale/trade a pair of KLF30. I purchased these from the original owner with the intention of resale and they were in need of some TLC. He had done some makeshift repairs to one cabinet using screws instead of glue and there are some water stains and marks on the tops of both, one worse than the other, grilles were in tact but worn, only one badge in tact. I did a light sanding of the cabinets with 0000 steel wool and Howards Golden Oak refinisher and that helped quite a bit. For the one cabinet that was screwed together I did disassemble it - removed the screws and filled the holes, and glued both the entire front and back of cabinet on that one with polyurethane glue. The other cabinet appears to have been glued previously and shows no signs of rattling so I did not touch it. I recovered the frames with new black grille cloth. I am inexperienced in working with veneer and was conservative - I am glad to include the 3/4 bottle of Howards with the sale perhaps with a more coarse steel wool or other treatments more of the top stains would come out. Again one was worse than the other and I tried to take pics to show - the other is not bad at all. The sides of the cabinets are also in good shape there were a couple of minor nics but overall good shape. All of the drivers work nicely, they are extremely loud and the amount of bass from this model is incredible. They are the original Klipsch components - no upgrades at this point. Cosmetically they are not perfect, I am glad to take additional close ups. I didn't want to part these out I think someone could really enjoy them - they are too big for my space for sure and I know some may call me crazy the bass is overpowering for my ears - I took my KG5.5 to my basement system in favor of the Forte because the bass was a bit much and these have way more than the KG's. I am located in Southern Maine (about 1.5 hours north of Boston). Based on feedback and what I've seen these have a broad range, I may be off and open to feedback but I know I need a starting price/asking $850. I may be open to partial trades but I am very specific in what i am looking for (RS-35, RS-3ii surrounds are one item I would consider).
