  1. cool setup. I suppose any 4 pieces of sturdy material could be used as the "cones" that you described. I think I'll experiment with different types.
  2. Well my 4.1 pros just arrived this morning....... all the hype seems to have been completely true! Good, good, good stuff.
  3. I would like to see pictures when it is finished. I've heard of people using spikes on the bottom of their speakers and stuff. I might try this.
  4. yes, you can buy the new control pod. it's on Klipsch's website for like $50 I believe.
  5. also, you may want to clean the connectors (on the wire, not the speakers) with rubbing alcohol. may help a little. it usually helps me with devices that use min-plugs such as those.
  6. Bose is popular, because many consumers are not interested in "high end" audio, and wish to buy things that are convenient, and perform decently. Bose does just that. They're alright speakers, if you like to have music in the background while you work, etc. (for the average consumer). Their high price is 'justified' with good looks, small size, and convenience, and that describes many products on the market today. "Better Sound Through Research" = "More Money for us Through Consumer Surveys, Publicity, and Media and/or Store Promotion" and that's the way it will always be.
  7. : I hate being phased out. maybe the new model of me will have kimber kable..... KLIPSCH RULES
  8. I wish America would use the metric system. english units are the most idiotic measurement tools I have ever come across... I'm moving to Germany
  9. sounds about right, as a meter is a little bigger than a yard, and a yard is 3 feet...
  10. after digging through the internet, I found that the surround cables are about 16 and the front about 10. I dunno if this is correct, but anything close to those measurements will suit me fine. thanks for your help
  11. I ordered the 4.1s, and they should be here soon, and I would like to know how long the speaker cables that come with them are. I am planning on making my own cables later, but for now I would like to use the factory included ones, and need to know the length so that if I need to arrange anything differently to accomodate the short/long length of the wires, I can. thanks a lot.
  12. I believe that since the sub on the 4.1's has dual drivers, and is more powerful, and the sats are more powerful as well, that they would offer better quality. but maybe I'm wrong. 2 subs might give you an enhanced bass effect, but the sats still receive less power
