  2. I use Blose as my mains............. doorstops. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  3. AF, I can answer one of your questions. The equipment list you see at the end of certain posts can be added to yours through the "signature" when you registered and signed up. I think if you just edit yours you can add whatever you want. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  4. My wife (and I) say the same about the RF-3's. Harsh and Bright. I'm still trying to find a cure......... Any input is appreciated. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  5. Ray you are so right................ and you make it sound so easy. And we just keep right on playing. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  6. I've had my KSW-12 since May. I had an unrelated problem and returned the sub to my dealer. He exchanged it on the spot and I've had no more problems. I'd suggest you do the same. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  7. Justin, There are a bazillion posts on this subject under the subwoofer section. It is a crapshoot as to how to wire the sub. You just have to try them all and pick the one that sounds best to you. GOOD LUCK!! ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  8. Whoops -- Jeff, I just noticed you have the same set up I do except you have a Denon and I have a Yamaha. I am one of the "harsh sounding Yamaha" people. I am thinking of switching to a Denon. Have you, or your ears, had any questions in this area?? ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  9. Gentlemen: I thank you............. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  10. Tom --------- You are so correct. The words I long to hear (and never will) are " I don't know, but I'll sure find out". My favorites though (especially from someone under 25) are " I have one of these at home". ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  11. OK, I think I may be dumb as a post. If I were to biwire my RF-3's do I just remove the jumper on the 3's and run 2 pr. of wire from the receiver to the speakers?? Or is it more complicated. Also, what might I expect to gain by doing so? Your input would, as always, be greatly appreciated ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection This message has been edited by buylow on 08-04-2001 at 02:29 AM
  12. Olaf ------ I'm waiting to hear your verdict on the Yamaha vs. Denon, or any other receiver. I have one foot out the door to dump my Yamaha HTR-5250. My wife says it sounds shrill; I temper that to harsh. Both are unacceptable. P. S. I now know I went "to cheap". Am prepared to bite the bullet but don't know what will solve the problem. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection This message has been edited by buylow on 08-01-2001 at 01:26 AM

  14. I own a Yamaha and we are looking for a change as it or the speakers is harsh, shrill, etc. I would like to know, of the people who favor Yamaha; how many of you have them coupled to the RF-3's? ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection This message has been edited by buylow on 07-27-2001 at 11:45 AM

  16. Other than the political rantings that were exchanged a few weeks ago I would say this is one of the most informative and peaceful BB's in existance. I've heard some frustration voiced by a few that can't seem to hear or, worse, purchase the Klipsch products they so desire. I surely sympathize with them. As a newbie I do appreciate the wry humor, intelligent repartee, and, of course, the ebb and flow of the different opinions of the audiophiles that frequent this board. I say KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TO ALL........... ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  17. I usually turn it off. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  18. Pump some of that down here. 75 is the overnight low. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  19. I'm impressed. Where else in all the internet can you discuss audio issues and learn so much at the same time? I continue to be amazed. ------------------ Mains: RF-3 Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3 Sub: KSW-12 A/V Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5250 DVD Player: Yamaha DV-6280 CD Player: Yamaha CDC-506 VCR: Toshiba TV: Toshiba 55" Projection
  20. This could be a reach, but try turning the switch to off and un-plug the sub. Let it set a couple of minutes then plug it back in and turn the switch to auto. I found that mine seemed to have some sequencing issues.

  22. Gentlemen Gentlemen............ It is obvious, in addition to our love of Klipsch products, we have some very strong political views. What say we leave this thread to die a natural death and get back to our common interests ........ audio/video/SPEAKERS..
  23. All right Cybergeek. Well said (both times). I plan to pool my $300 with my wife's and pile it on my kitchen table, admire it for awhile, then fill up the tank on the SUV. If there is anything left I imagine my wife and daughter will spend it on shoes. The economy will then be bolstered.
  24. He lied............ It's that simple.
  25. Thanks to all who have advised on the heat issue. I just returned from Tweeters with a new KSW-12. It's been running awhile and is not even warm. I think the problem is fixed. Once again, thanks to all.
