  1. I use the RC52 center channel and it's such a robust speaker and sounds so clear I'd imagine it'll go just fine with the RB81's. They are essentially the same as the RB61's but do not dig as deep in the bass department. Personally I use RB61's on my setup and am more than satisfied with their power output and bass response. Y.M.M.V. but I'd save some money and go to the 61's and perhaps get a better or a second subwoofer.
  2. That is one big and expensive theater I'd bet. It dosen't take long for things to add up though... ever stop to add up real retail of the things you've got? I did and it blew me away at what I've spent in the last 3 years. It still isn't my definition of "perfect" but it never will be I suppose.... I know I love-love-love Klipsch and it totally blows away my old Cerwin Vega set up. Guy habits are very costly it seems.
  3. Youthman, in response to your question. Do I like my Harmony remote? There seem to be a fair number of people who do not like theirs but after a simple programming of mine out of the box it has worked flawlessly controlling 5 activities for me. It's a little slow to signal my Xbox 360 but it's not a big deal since all I need is power on and off. I'd buy it again knowing what I do now. It's very customizable and I've really only begun to dig into it's abilities. I also have a Harmony 659 which I love to death because of it's cheap price and very high quality build. Stands up to the wife and chihuahua's no problem... hehehe. Picky, sounds like you're a fair but more complex then my setup but these dimmers sure do give the HT a real theater feel. I like the way they look with the screwless wall plate too. Kind of like a piece of HT gear. Your theather is looking great to.... nice work, wish I had a bar in my HT.
  4. I have been pondering it for over 4 years now, and the thing that held me back was price I suppose? I had already set my theater up with 3 seperate dimmers controlling three rows of lights, but, I had to go over to the switch to adjust them manually. Now thats just too much work and does not look cool enough when firing up a flick to have to get up and adjust them manually...heh. Enter Lutron with their Spacer system. Perfect for one room adjustment of several light switches or more.... I got the system in white with the screwless wall plate. It actually looks somewhat like a piece of white HT gear when assembled with it's seamless design and LED's aglow. It was fairly costly for seemingly simple dimmers but after I finally took the plunge it was worth it. It has a remote with 4 "scenes" as Lutron calls them. I have one theme for movies which is lights almost off, one theme with the same movie dimmness but the row of lighting above the seats brighter to find missing M&M's and such, one theme for TV which is a slightly brighter version of the movie watching theme and one last theme which is all on at about 80% brightness. This I think is just a fabulous toy and really makes the cool factor in my room go up a notch or two. I just wanted to share my new toy with all of you. Thanks for reading and post your thoughts if you want, or, ask a question if you'd like too. I'm no expert in lighting but did learn alot trying out different dimmers and controls.
  5. They have arrived and have been set up for my personal review. First off let me say people who think Sony and Klipsch are not a good mix have me wondering where that ever came from? Perhaps it's a dislike for the name more than the performance? Mixing reference Klip's and reference Sony Amps has produced results much higher than even expected. In my sig. you'll see what I have in my system and I was more than amazed at the clarity and power these speakers delivered on the mediums I did try. I listened to satellite radio on my PVR and the sound was just wonderful compared to my old Cerwin Vega system, and the bass, well... that was a far cry harder and deeper then even my 15" CV subwoofer could hit. Next I tried a few blu-rays out and was further amazed that I had to turn down the subs because the bass was too much, shook the walls around me just a bit too hard to sound cool. For music I could set the sub to 0 dB and for movies I had to turn it down to -9 dB to get the balance.... no complaints about too much bass though . Some fine tweaking as soon as I learn how dto do that should improve things even more. The packaging for the speakers is very, very well done with bags for the speakers and even the grilles! There were nice black folders in every box with documents inside save the sub, which was in plastic bags but still packaged well. I can't seem to get the grilles off the subs though and have given up for fear of breaking something. The one problem I have is the digital display on one of the subs seems messed up somehow with a line or two fo dots missing so we'll see if that goes away and if not... back it goes to the store. I will post some pics of the set up in the next day or so when the photographer wife gets to taking some nice ones. Thats all for now but thanks Klipsch for making such a great product and here's to hoping that even more amazement comes with years of happy ownership.

    No LFE?

I noticed on the two RW12d's that I just bought they do not have LFE input on them. I tried to just use the left input like some of the Klippies do but the volume just drops wether I use just left or just right. It has to use both. Anything I'm missing here or is there just no LFE on the thing? These things are incredible too in tandem! Amazing low frequency music output. If anyone has these I'd love to hear what EQ/lowpass/phase settings are best to use keeping in mind I'm using RB61's as mains and RB51's as surrpounds with a RC52 center. As well it's all powered with a Sony ES5200 receiver. I am so pumped to get these things, but, they are on order until the 6'th of March so I guess I'll just go insane and kill stuff till they arrive.
  7. My setup is not really condusive to anything but the directional type unfortunately. I'll gladly post up some pictures of the Klips in their new home. Gotta move the Cv's to make room and such. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it.
  8. I have been a fan of Klipsch for quite some time but have never had the funds to get anything other than my 4.1's. Now things are different. I have a 5.1 system with a "b" channel for stereo listening and here's what I'm looking at that fits my space and budget. I'd love some opinions though. RB61's for fronts and the "b" channel so two pairs. RB51's for the surrounds. RC52 for a center channel. A set of two RW12d subwoofers for the bass extension.
  9. No, right now I am using all Cerwin Vega but want to upgrade to these. Not sure if it'll be an upgrade though so I thought I'd ask. I use a second set of fronts for my "b" channel on the receiver which is actually in the back of the room. It filles the room a little more than just two and the subs.
  10. I have the Sony ES 3200 receiver and want to pair it up with the following speakers for 5.1 home theater. I have picked the synergy line because it's in my price range. I'd love to hear some opinions on how you think this will sound?! A set of SB3's for fronts... and a second set of SB3's for the "b" channel while in stereo mode A set of SB2's for my surrounds 2 of the synergy sub 12" powered subs because I am set up to run two SC3 center channel for the center.... of course.
  11. Hahaha, let me help here as it seems some help is required. By saying Rudolph he means "root off" which means... well I'm sure you get it now. Kinda a bad one.
  12. I finally got around to testing my machine with 3D Mark. I hadn't tweaked anything but ran the test anyway to see the results. It was on my P4 3.0 gig with an Asus 9980 on it. I can't remember the exact number right now but it was close to 16,000. Does that sound good? I'm going to try and find the published results.
  13. What would one call a good video card? I really think this game will play on anything Geforce 3 or higher, and may play with some options off, on a slightly lesser card. The game will not need all that much horsepower as that would severly limit market coverage of the sales of the game. I have an ASUS 9980 Ultra and that will be WAY more than enough to play this game and games for a while still. Not many people buy super high end cards, and ID has to, and I'm sure has, remembered that during game design. If COD will run at 800 X 600 on my tnt2 ultra in my old machine, this game will run on a 64MB video card with probably most options on to a good quality.
  14. I've always wanted to name a girl Melissa Brittany but since I can't have kids that may never happen. Maybe you might want to use it?
  15. Actually I believe you're wrong on the AC / DC power transmit and loss thing. All hydro companies transport their power on those large metal towers using DC voltage. It transfers cleaner and looses less in the "long" haul. It gets converted to DC before it enters and converted back to AC after it arrives.
