  1. I was one of the lucky ones who got my amp back but only after I assured him I'd google his name and flame him on every board I found him on. However, his 'repair' only lasted a few weeks and then my amp blew again. I sure wish I'd saved my time, effort, and money and just put that amp in the trash where it belonged. Elliott was my second attempt at repair. The first was a local electronics repair shop who charged me $150 and it blew about 8 minutes after I got it home and fired it up. There is an emotional attachment to these systems that we all have. Simply put, nothing sounds as good. Mine lasted 12 years. But when they are gone. Man, they're gone. Grieve and move on to something less superior.
  2. Wow you WERE very lucky Kincade. I also suggested picking up my sub from Elliot (after waiting long long long past when he said he'd have it done) and was told he wouldnt allow me to pick it up. As an update the sub arrived with four channels working. One went out in 30 minutes. Two more went out less than 6 months after repair. I now own promedia 2.0. A poor substitute but at least they work.
  3. Elliot was sent my amp in early July. The 20 day turnaround is a joke. I also had the experience with him of the duck and run....instant communication making the sale, nonexistant after that. Repeated emails were ignored. Finally he replies 2.5 months after the fact that the amp is being shipped out at the end of the week. Two weeks go by. No amp. I email again, he says end of the week. Two weeks, no amp. I finally email the guy and say look dude, i love this amp, I don't mind waiting but please be honest about a realistic date it will be ready. He replies that he's mailing it out THAT day. And he actually does. The amp arrived working. I sent it to him for repair with three blown channels. It arrived back with all channels functioning. Unfortunately the front right channel only lasted about an hour before it blew again. So i I have three working channels now. I contacted elliott to let him know the one channel blew again. He offered to fix it if i sent it back but there was no way i was going through that ordeal again. Three is almost as good as four. And at least I have it back. No telling when that would happen if i let him get his hands on it again.
  4. As of this date, still waiting for a reply and my amp.
  5. I also sent Elliott my amp. When I emailed him multiple times to inquire about service, shipping, payment he was immediately able to respond and give details. He told me the turnaround time on the amp repair would be 20 days from the time it was shipped. It is now past that allotted time and I've emailed elliott several times and have gotten no response. I would far greatly prefer to have a working amp than to have to go through the process of a dispute with pay pal and my credit card company. From what I read here, his promised 20 day turnaround doesn't seem to happen very often, but declining to reply to customers is very bad business. I found elliott through these forums and I will post my experience here as well.

  8. Everything I've read seems to indicate the wait is much longer than 20 days (as long as 6 months in one report) and the communication post payment is zero to none. If I didn't start school in 3 days with two multimedia online courses for which I desperately need to be able to HEAR the lectures and a good set of speakers for my projects, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it really is. If I'd been told the turnaround was months instead of weeks, I would have waited until I could afford to have a backup plan before shipping it!
