  1. I have a pair of Klipsch Rf 82 speakers and would like to know if anyone has used a tube amp with them. I'm  particularly interested in the low amp Decware models. I recently bought a Decware zrock2 and am using it with my turntable and Oppo 203 and it really helped the sound. I'm  presently using a Marantz 7007 with the original xpa-3 by Emotiva(200 watts).

  2. It's a mc240 and I just looked at a video on servicing this amp. He changed the lowercase and tested the tubes and all the bumblebees caps that lined up in the middle of the amp. Quite a job. He said you either buy the testing equipment or change every cap. Thank you for the info, but I'm thinking the mc240 is just such a large beast I may choose to go with a Zen.

  3. I'm looking to improve my stereo sound. I recently added a Vincent Phi 700 phono preamp and liked the tube sound so much I thought I'd try tubes. I presently have a Marantz 7007 7 channel amp with the the 3 front speakers running thru my Emotiva Xpa3. I also play my digital music with an Oppo 203. I'm hoping to get a cleaner  sound. What tube amp would help. I spoke to Steve at Decware and he suggested the Zen Torii Junior. How does this compare to a Macintosh mc225?

  5. I recently changed from a phone Parasound phono preamp to a Vincent pho700 phono preamp. Has anyone tried the Vincent? I think it is a more natural sound although I have to turn the volume up about 5-10db louder. It came with a Conn 12au7 organ tube in it. How does this compare to other preamp in this $500-800 price range?

  6. Low Angeles. The speakers have never been moved since taken from boxes.

The speakers are used 95% for tv and about 2 hours a week on music at -40 dB on a marinara 7007 with an Emotva Xpa3 forthe front speakers. They get turned up loud for a song or 2 and are clear as a bell..

I may give them to my son, but wouldn't ship them if I decide to sell. I had a chance to play the Ohm Walsh 2000s and they are incredible sounding. They work well with the Rc62 and Rs52s in surround for music and By. But when I played a record in Pure stereo and turned the Emltiva/Marantz up loud around 0-+5 dBm it was amazing I backed down from comedy sound to -10db-20db and could listen at any volume without fatigue. Great speakers. I give a lot of credit to the Klipsh Rf82s because they are crystal clear when using the Emotiva Xpa3 for the front stage and the difference between $1000 for Rf82s and $2800 for Ohm Walsh 2000s is significant.

  7. Just added an Oppo 203 to my system. I have a Marantz 7007 receiver which has a built in Ak24 bit dac, the Oppo has an Ak32 bit dac. I'm running rc cables on the Oppo for7.1 analog sound and I think it is a great improvement for music. The techs at Oppo told me they thought the improvement in sound between the 203 andI the 205 was only about10%. Can anyone give me their thoughts on the difference when playing 5.I music in analog?

  8. I bought the 203 before they ran out. The Ak 32 bit dac is better than the Ak24 bit sad in the Marantz 7007. Glad I got the pool. Idon't spoke to Oppo tech support and 2 different techs said other than the balanced stereo output the sabre dad was only 10% better in the 205 compared to the 203. Also just received a front set of Ohm Walsh 2000 speakers. The Rf7s weren't wife friendly.

  10. I want to upgrade my stereo and have read great things about oppo bluray 205 players. I listen to 2000+ cds and have been told this would work better for music. I had thought of upgrading the front speakers, but the Rf7s are too large. I have a Marantz 7007 receiver with an Emotiva Xpa3 amp for the front 3 speakers. I have reference matched set of, Rf82,Rc62, Rs53 and a 350 watt rxd12 sub. I don't play the music very loud but like a warm sound. I thought of getting Ohm Walsh 2000 front speakers as the Klipsch speakers that are better than the rf82s are too big. Does anyone have any thoughts. The main use of the system is home theatre .

  12. I stated with an Denon 1804 90w and then I bought a Marantz 7007, 125 x7 and an Emotiva Xpa3, 200wx3 channels. The difference  between each upgrade in power was significant. It wasn't louder just much better sound especially with music. I just brought my turntable down after 30 years in the attic and the quality of music sound from the records is so much better.

  13. I'm impressed with your great equipment. I recently pulled my Sanyo Tpx2 turntable down from the attic. I have a set of Rf82, Rc62, Rs52 and sub with a Marantz 7007 and an Emotiva Xpa3. The sound is much better than the remastered xxx I've played. I have thought of getting Rf7s with the matching center and surrounds, but they are so much bigger I've always hesitated. Since I can't play the stereo too loud due to the look I'd get from my wife is my setup good or do you guys have any suggestions. I've even looked at Ohm Walsh2000 as an option. Any suggestions are appreciated.

My "huh" was referring to the thought that the RC-52 possibly having better midrange than the RC-62.  The RC-62 is a MUCH better sounding speaker than the RC-52.  I've heard the RC-52 with RF-82 and it was underwhelming to say the least.

I bought rf82, rc62,rs52 With an rw12d sub 7 years ago. I had a demon 1804 90 ampbut wasn't satisfied with higher volume for music upgraded to denon 3311 125 amp and then bought an Emotive xpa3 amp to power the 3 front speakers. Now the speakers kept opening up and revealing sounds I never heard before with each upgrade. The amp matters I now added a Marantz 7007. I love it

  15. will the sb2000 be better than the RW 12d even though it's not ported or is the SP1000 going to be enough sub. If t's not enough I would have to think about the sp2000. I could move the tv stand out further from the wall. Most of the listening is to tv and movies. I do have 2000 cd's ripped to my computer and listen to music for about an hour every day. I also have several DTS cd's and Music Dvd's that I like to listen to in surround sound so I know the SB2000 should be a big improvement in the sound for music.

  16. Thanks for the advice. I want to place the sub behind the tv and the pb2000 is a bit large and as I said heavy to move. Are the sb 2000 and the sp1000 going to be a noticeable improvement over the rw 12d sub that I already have? I don't want to buy used I have had numerous problems with other subs breaking and then having to lift them and take them into be repaired. Will only buy new with warranty.
