PowerPOPE

My 20-39 cs plus causes the grout in my bathroom to crack, no joke! I was in disbelief when the first cracks appeared and i dismissed it as a bad grout installation. Even after posting my problem (and also some pics) in another forum to ask whether a sub can really damage grout, the general consensus there was no it can't. Well the grout guy came buy and fixed all the cracks. I was a bit weary about turning up my sub from then on. But one day i popped in gladiator and blasted it. After that session low and behold there was this crack on the grout that was never there before! My mom got pretty pissed about that and i agreed not to blast my sub too loud anymore.

that's right, the promedia i got were indeed defective and i just got it replaced a couple of days ago. the 4.1's are very punchy and the power is much appreciated but i'm annoyed with the static that happens once in a while when the volume is set more than 12'. i was expecting more in terms of clarity also.

Obsydian, where did you buy your 4.1's???? i bought mine at kromer radio.

I packed up these defective units already so that i could return them tomorrow. This is such a hassle since i don't have a car and i'll have to lug this 40 pound speaker set AGAIN to downtown toronto. the replacement speakers better not be defective again.

I recently purchased (June 28, 2001) a Promedia 4.1 system here in Toronto through Kromer Radio. After about two hours of listening at half its max volume i noticed that the sub got extremely hot (i couldn't touch it) and the sound from the speakers deteriorated substantially (pops and bzzz's). i've been reading the forum topics and that there is a problem with the hearsink of the sub. Is mine defective? How can i get it replaced if it is a defective unit?

Paradigm, what are the names of these stores??? I live in the GTA area and i'm serious about purchasing a 4.1 system once school ends. i know kromer radio sells them but for $475 canadian. How about the other stores???

c'mon guys, can anyone give me some info on dealers who carry the promedia 4.1 system here in toronto????

I live around the Scarborough area (area code M1S-3P1) and would like a list of dealers who sell v.2-400 promedia's. I already discovered Kromer Radio and they sell it for $475 canadian. I'd like to know about other dealers so as to get a better deal.
