  1. A local speaker guy here owns a shop in Colfax, CA. I was telling him i need the magnets that go over the speaker magnets so I wouldnt get any interferance in the television..I think u call them buckling magnets or something like that?? well anyway he told me I didnt need the buckling magnets, that all I needed was to cover the magnet with a metal can. He says this will stop the magnetic interference to the television. Can anyone confirm this for me? is it ok to do this?? Monty

Mike u hit the nail right on the head!! that would be an awesome set up dude. The C-7 matches well with the KG's and the 4.2's as sourrounds will be a perceft match for tone with the 5.5's,,go for it!!

    My HT died

What a bummer T. I hope that you get treated right on that warranty. Denon is a highly respectable company, you should be ok. I would think twice about UPS ground if you have to ship that unit. My last experience with them was a nightmare. I bought a KLF 10 to convert into a center channel. When it arrived basically it was demolished from the carrier. 10. Trader, I was actually thinking about asking the seller if he would refund me $50. That sounds fair too me. I kind of doubt he will do it but maybe its worth a try. I dont understand why does the insurance money go to the seller. This is grossly unfair. I bought the speaker outright and should have rights to any claim. this doesnt make sence to me at all. Now I really regret leaving positive feedback for this guy. I should have waited until this was all settled. 11. very interesting information, Thanks guys. I'm defenitly going with the 10's. 12. I'm looking at the manual for the KLF 10, 20 and 30. Frequency response on the 10 is lower than the 20 or 30. Frequency response: KLF 10...32 Hz-20 kHz+3 db KLF 20...34 Hz-20 kHz+3 db KLF 30...36 Hz-20 kHz+3 db does this mean that the KLF 10 has lower bass than the other's. If so, is it because its in a smaller enclosure? ------------------ Klipsch 5.2 mains Klipsch 4.2 rears Klipsch KLF C-7 center Mitsubishi 55" HD widescreen tv Toshiba pro scan DVD audio player Sony Hi-Fi VCR player Harman Kardon AVR 65 receiver SVS 20/39 subwoofer w/Samsom S1000 amp
  13. Well the guy is sticking to his story saying that when they left his possesion they only had two scratches. I know that shipping from Utah to California there is no way the speakers could have acumilated that much damage. This will be put on UPS I guess. Just makes me angry because if the seller would have stated all of the damage in his description he probably would have got about half of what I paid. I seen a few other action's on ebay that had signifigant damage simular to this one, going for about $100. ------------------ Klipsch 5.2 mains Klipsch 4.2 rears Klipsch KLF C-7 center Mitsubishi 55" HD widescreen tv Toshiba pro scan DVD audio player Sony Hi-Fi VCR player Harman Kardon AVR 65 receiver SVS 20/39 subwoofer w/Samsom S1000 amp
  14. I have a question, I recently bought a KLF 10 from a guy on ebay that had 6 positive transaction's. He described the speaker as having two scratches on the outer paneling and that the speaker had never been used. Well I got the speaker yesterday and noticed the box looked like it went to hell and back. After openeing it I noticed a couple of severe cracks. One next to the driver and the other on the back. The baffle even has some damage from an impact that caused one of the cracks. There is also chipping around the edges. The grill has two holes in it as well. I paid $230 with shipping included. The speaker sounds great but I was wondering did I pay too much? ------------------ Klipsch 5.2 mains Klipsch 4.2 rears Klipsch KLF C-7 center Mitsubishi 55" HD widescreen tv Toshiba pro scan DVD audio player Sony Hi-Fi VCR player Harman Kardon AVR 65 receiver SVS 20/39 subwoofer w/Samsom S1000 amp

  16. for me its 70% movies and 30% music. So of course I would say buy the big screen. When I bought my 55 inch mitsu, It was the best upgrade I ever did to my system. Although If your going to upgrade to a widescreen I would browse good guys for a while and find an open boxed 50 or 55". 19. I sold the sub combo yesterday to a local guy here in Sacramento. Seems that SVS is really starting to be well known. Only took 2 days in the paper. I had several calls with interested buyer's. I'm going to use part of this money to finance a center conversion. Im going to sell my C-7 and buy a KLF 10 and do a EdHorn's pattened design job on it. I'll miss the SVS but with the center conversion it should make up some of the bass loss. ------------------ Klipsch 5.2 mains Klipsch 4.2 rears Klipsch KLF C-7 center Mitsubishi 55" HD widescreen tv Toshiba pro scan DVD audio player Sony Hi-Fi VCR player Harman Kardon AVR 65 receiver This message has been edited by montigue on 06-03-2002 at 08:54 PM
  20. Well fellow Klipschsters Im selling my house and moving into an apartment due to financial reason's. Therefore I will no longer be needing my subwoofer setup. The system has very little use. Actually in the six months I have had it, I would say I have only used it with about 15 to 20 DVD's. Both the SVS 20-39 CS and the Samson S-1000 have the original boxes and manual's. I will also throw in the adapter and cable. I live in Sacramento, CA ....My name is Monty Rowland and you can reach me at home at (916) 334-4565. I work at the Hewlett-Packard production facility in Roseville. My work hours are 2pm to 10:30pm...My number their is (916 748-7843. I'm asking $525 for the sub/amp package If you want a pick you can see my attachments in odds and modds under montigues system upgrade. 22. the cost of labor is taking quality right out of many product's we buy today. Not to mention companies are always trying to find ways to cut cost to raise profit margins. THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE Although if I had $2000 to spend on speakers I would still buy the RF 7's..They are awesome! ------------------ Klipsch 5.2 mains Klipsch 4.2 rears Klipsch KLF C-7 center Mitsubishi 55" HD widescreen tv Toshiba pro scan DVD audio player Sony Hi-Fi VCR player Harman Kardon AVR 65 receiver SVS 20/39 subwoofer w/Samsom S1000 amp
  23. Hey Earl! I remember where you got that center channel speaker. It was from a guy named Curt from ebay right? HEHE I bought his 5.2's that went with that center channel you got...Small world we live in I found a pair of 4.2's a month ago from a guy in San Diego. 24. Brett, outstanding job , you put your ideas to work and it came out great. How nice it must be to have a basement like that. The last few months ive been thinking about converting my garage into a home theater. After seeing your work I think I want to put my ideas together and get started. You me and you have a few things in common. I also collect sports cards. I have a $15,000 Micheal Jordan collection. Took me over ten years to collect it. Its interesting to see someone that has the same intrest's as I do.. oh ya If you ever decide to use ultras for your bass system, It would make a world of difference. A theater like that shouldnt be without them. NICE HOME THEATER! 25. Ed if your reading this, I hope that maybe you can give me some advise. I was thinking about making a center channel out of a KG 4.2. Although the problem is that the 4.2 only has one 10" driver and one 10" passive radiator. Can this be done with a KG series speaker and sound right?
