This is great Youth. Definitely reconsidering this as an alternative to the Onkyo 5508 or the new 5509. Definitely would save a lot of money. I have always been so concerned about room calibration or room eq. But it sounds like if you are willing to put in some effort, you can save at least 1k as well as possibly receive a much better sounding device?
Congrats on your purchase. I hope it continues to work out for you.
haha....cool..thanks. Yeah, I have been having a hard time finding a reasonable cost A/V stand that also doesn't look cheap at the same time. Thanks for your replies.
Looking at your signature it looks like you have pretty sweet system...
Thanks! It is getting there. Just need a Onkyo 5508, Rhythmic FV15HP, and a new tv stand to hold all of this equipment, and room treatments as well.
Speaking of center speakers, I thought this was interesting (still reading/rereading it)
Horizontal Center Channel Speakers and Why They Should Be Avoided
Do you feel this way for movies and music? What if the OP is more for movies than music or the other way around. I wouldn't mind trying it out, but my major concern is the UMC vs Audyssey xt32
Do you prefer YPAO over Audyssey XT32 or you don't really care? One of the reasons I have looked elsewhere. Then again, I have a 567 to see if I like the YPAO with my RF-7ii (they are hooked up to my Jamo e660 right now)
Is that the ones they sent you? With the scratch on it?
No, these are the original ones, They replaced those above with a different pair without any scratches (there was one scratch but it was on the bottom, almost underneath the speaker).
