  1. This is great Youth. Definitely reconsidering this as an alternative to the Onkyo 5508 or the new 5509. Definitely would save a lot of money. I have always been so concerned about room calibration or room eq. But it sounds like if you are willing to put in some effort, you can save at least 1k as well as possibly receive a much better sounding device? Congrats on your purchase. I hope it continues to work out for you.
  2. I think it has been confirmed over at AVS forums that it doesn't really shut off the amps.
  3. haha....cool..thanks. Yeah, I have been having a hard time finding a reasonable cost A/V stand that also doesn't look cheap at the same time. Thanks for your replies.
  4. Do you have a pic? I noticed the glass shelves were 19" x 19" and the Emotiva's are 19" deep!
  5. And it supports the weight of the XPA-2 (and 5) just fine? hmm...Looks really good.
  6. Might I ask what av stand is that?
  7. Looking at your signature it looks like you have pretty sweet system... Thanks! It is getting there. Just need a Onkyo 5508, Rhythmic FV15HP, and a new tv stand to hold all of this equipment, and room treatments as well.
  8. I thought Emotiva did not recommend using a partial of the channels on their amps. I could be wrong.
  9. Speaking of center speakers, I thought this was interesting (still reading/rereading it) Horizontal Center Channel Speakers and Why They Should Be Avoided
  10. Do you feel this way for movies and music? What if the OP is more for movies than music or the other way around. I wouldn't mind trying it out, but my major concern is the UMC vs Audyssey xt32
  11. Do you prefer YPAO over Audyssey XT32 or you don't really care? One of the reasons I have looked elsewhere. Then again, I have a 567 to see if I like the YPAO with my RF-7ii (they are hooked up to my Jamo e660 right now)
  12. Wish I could, I have them in the box right now pending a receiver..which I don't know when that's going to be...but one thing at a time i guess..[]
  13. Is that the ones they sent you? With the scratch on it? No, these are the original ones, They replaced those above with a different pair without any scratches (there was one scratch but it was on the bottom, almost underneath the speaker).
  14. Did you create some custom speaker cables. It seems you were getting ready to do so on the previous page.
  15. One more. Would show you my RF82 and RC64ii, but will stay on topic (with pictures that is)
  16. Hello Everyone. I recently purchased my RF-7IIs but still need a avr and a sub. I noticed many of you have Yamaha paired with them. Is there a reason why you chose it over an Audyssey avr as it seems to be the popular choice? My new speaker next to my old Jamo e660 (little dusty). Also, you may notice the little scratch on the RF7ii. Yeah, I got them replaced straight from Hope, AR.
  17. are you concerned about the weight of the XPA-3 + whatever else you may have on that glass shelf (if its glass)? I currently have the Z-line Jaguar 3-in-1 stand that I got for $180 from Target and its been doing great. I really like Z-Line. But I have a hard time finding another 3-in-1 stand that is a little wider, and that can support more weight on each shelf without having to shell out $300+ or a DIY stand. Good question. The top shelf (where the center is) supports 120lbs. Middle and bottom support 65lbs each. The Emotiva at a whopping 57lbs will definitely be going on the bottom shelf with the cable box and media PC. That will be about 71lbs which I feel comfortable with. The middle shelf will have the Denon receiver and PS3 which will be 40lbs. I mapped out dimensions and weight before I went shopping and this was the only TV stand I could find that would fit everything. It will be snug but it should work out. Very good! Yeah, I think my Z-line supports the same weight. My problem is I have two emotiva amps..and an htpc that's the size of an avr.. I am still missing an avr...which will be 30-55lbs depending what I get.

  19. Don't know how long I have been looking for something that cost less than $400 to hold an RC-64 as well as two emotiva XPA amps and receiver and htpc without having to rest the tv on top of the speaker and without having to wallmount the tv as well. If I could do either of those, then that would be easy but since I am looking for a 3-in-1 tv stand solution, everyone comes with glass shelves rated at 50lbs or less.

Hope we can see some before and after pics in this thread!
  21. Wow, you will pretty much have the same setup as me (and also have the same question as me).
  22. I hope some more info is released soon so I could know what is going to happen with their current products.
