  1. There are some important considerations to make when deciding to go to seperates. Geneally, you get better DACs (cleaner, more detailed, less noise) and better amps when using seperates, but naturally, they can cost much more. The MAJOR problem with seperates is that they tend to be atleast 1 year (or more) behind in technology compared to recievers. There are only a few pre/pros that have HDMI and that is only ver 1.1 or 1.2 if your lucky, while many recievers are coming out now with ver 1.3, plus some of the newest recievers can decode the audio formats from Bluray and HDDVD disks. I'm not positive, but i do not believe ANY pre/pro has the ability to do room EQ. So you have to decide what features are important. I would suggest if you are happy with the sound...don't upgrade... -Dave
  2. Yeah, better not tempt fate or the new wife. Congrats and best of luck!
  3. Phil- What about meeting in Lynchburg? I have been meaning to go there for many months.... interested now? -Dave

  5. Bump one last time before they are advertised off the Klipsch Forums...
  6. Coytee- I like cheap bumps! I was hoping to sell them before July/August...but if i still have them... Best of luck on the seminar! -Dave
  7. I agree its an excellent amp. I believe it does have a 10 year warranty, however, according to the Parasound website their warranty is NOT transferable. -Dave
  8. Im selling a bunch of my assorted HT gear which hasnt gotten a lot of use recently. Speakers: Klipsch RF-3s Black (**Sold**) Klipsch RC-3 (asking $125) This is the original RC-3s with black veneers in very good condition and would be an excellent upgrade from the RF-15/25s and Synergy line. I still have all of the original packing and manuals. SVS CS-Ultra w/ Samson S1000 amp ($1000): Purchased 12/2001 for $1450 The Ultra is one of original cylindrical series subs and is powered by the Samson S1000 amp (separate unit - included), and provides loads of clean and powerful base. More info can be found @ http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-cyl-csultra1.cfm I havent used it for probably close to 2 years and its in excellent condition. I still have all of the original packing and BetterCables interconnect. Ideally, I would prefer not to ship it but options can be discussed. I can likely deliver (or meet ½ way) in NY, PA, or DE. Amp: Parasound HCA-1205A 5 channel amp ($650): Purchased 12/2002 The 1205A is a 5-channel amp delivering 140 watts on each channel at 8 O. It has paired very nicely with the Klipsch speakers, its low floor noise limits hissing from the horns and is warm sounding. More info can be found @ http://www.parasound.com/vintage/hca1205a.php Its in excellent condition. I still have all of the original packing materils and manuals. Shipping and insurance extra, imagine it should be $50 for this heavy amp (46lbs) Cables: Monster Interlink Digital 100 3 - $10 (shipped) 2x Monster svideo 6 - $10 (shipped) Monster Interlink 250 2 channel Analog 5 ($10 shipped) Please feel free to PM/email me with any questions or requests. I can take pictures and post them if requested. Cheers -Dave
  9. Im selling the recently redesigned Juicy Music pCATs. A lack of planning on my part and the what the h*ll are those? comment from the g/f has resulted in the opportunity to buy the pCATs without the long wait. I ordered the pCATs many months ago to pair with a set of RF3s, but received a great price on a pair of Dynaudio C1s I couldnt pass up. I have spent the past week going back and forth between the RF3s and C1s, and Parasound HCA-1205 SS and pCATs, I must admit they pair beautifully with the Klipsch, warm and detailed. I completely agree with the comments posted on the forum about the pCATs, they are TRULY excellent! However, Im going to keep the C1s, and the pCATs just dont match that well with themso your gain! The special introductory price posted on the forum was $3000 (current $3795), Im asking: $3000/obo which will include shipping & insurance in original box with original tubes. They weigh 65 lbs each so shipping is expensive, originally $165+ from California to NY, its a great deal! Please feel free to PM/email me with any questions or requests. I can take pictures and post them if requested. Cheers -Dave PS: I have some other HT type stuff for sale, but will post more details in the HT section Speakers: Klipsch RF-3s ($300) Klipsch RC-3 ($125) SVS Ultra w/ Samson 1000 amp ($1000/obo) Cables: Monster Interlink Digital 100 3 - $10 (shipped) 2x Monster svideo 6 - $10 (shipped) Monster Interlink 250 2 channel Analog 5 ($10 shipped) Amp: Parasound HCA-1205A 5 channel amp ($650)
  10. I just got my pCATs and Mark wasn't joking THEY ARE HEAVY! Hopefully, this weekend I'll be able to spend some time with them to figure them out, but preliminary indications are that they don't match well with either my dynes or CDP. Not suprising as the Dynes require ALOT of power, so i'll switch back the the Ref3s and get some good comparisons. Cheers... -Dave
  11. Classical SACDs (I'm a symphony nut...) Beethoven: Symphonies no 5 & 7 / Kleiber Beethoven: The Symphonies / Karajan I also like Dvorak & Tchaikovsky symphonies, but never really a fan of Mozart. -Dave
  12. IMO, you don't need to use any special CD or SACD for breakin. Simply play what you want to play when you want to and don't worry about it. SACD is a very niche market, so unless you are a jazz or classical music fan, its almost a wasted feature. Enjoy the player, i have the CD/SACD only version, its a nice player! -Dave
