  1. I sit about 12ft from a 106" screen, and if the space were available I'd put in a 150"... The bigger the better.
  2. I talked to the same guy! I only wanted the 82s and the sub but he wouldnt budge.
  3. Hope that helps It did, thank you VERY much.
  4. Got a draper 106" manual pull down
  5. I really wish avs forum was up
  6. Does anyone have suggestions on screens? 16:9 or cinemascope? Screen material/color? I will have my speakers outside the screen so I do not need anything that is acoustically transparent.
  7. I second this. I started with a used set of quintet IIIs, sub 12, and pioneer vsx-917 that I found on C list for $400. I then sold the quintets and pioneer for $400(got the sub for free!). After searching c list for a month or so I bought RF-35s and an RC-35 for 450, and RS-35 surround for 150. So I got a whole rf-35 setup and a sub 12 for $600. Just be patient and search, you will easily find what you want. IHOP
  8. The curtains are from lowes. That front wall has 4 curtains across. I drilled holes in the wood on the ceiling, put a zip tie through the hole and around a PVC pipe that the curtains hang on.
  9. Well I guess I will put this on here for suggestions and advice.
  10. How does the GFA-545 compare to the 555? There are a couple on CL in missouri and I wonder if they ar worth looking into
  11. deluss- looks like an epic gaming setup []
  12. After weeks of searching and saving, I beleive this is the deal for me. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882115272 I just sold my rx-v363 for a profit, therefore I NEED a receiver (using a 15yr old sony POS for music while working on the basement), and need rear speakers to complete the 7.1 Any reason I shouldn't go for this?
  13. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=A4186750&baynote_bnrank=1&baynote_irrank=0&~ck=baynoteSearch $1100. Hard to beat. Costco has some projectors online. Havn't looked into them yet, but costco adds another year to all manufacture warranties. http://www.costco.com/Common/Search.aspx?whse=BC&topnav=&search=projector&N=0&Ntt=projector&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search〈=en-US Has anyone used one of these?
  14. Youthman- That looks great! While looking at it I got the idea of just drilling a hole in the concrete, putting a nail or something like that into the whole, sealing any open spacearound the nail with glue and mounting the speaker on that. I might try this tomorrow. I'll take a few pictures and show you what I am talking about. I am still contemplating on a 73' mits dlp or a projector and screen. My viewing distance is about 10-12 ft. I'll watch blu rays, and movies onDemand from AT&T U-verse. I think a TV would be easier, but a 100" would be great. What do you guys think?.. I'll post some pictures of the space when I get all of the **** out of my basement! (5 full trash bags already)
  15. I think I asked a dumb question. I kept thinking there is no way I could mount a screen to the concrete wall.. Didn't think about useing a ceiling mount screen. If I put up curtains, How would Mounting my rs-35s work? I'd like to stay away from getting a stand.
  16. So today I set up my rf-35s and sub12 with bar concrete walls and floors. It did not sound horrible, but it definately didn't sound great. The most obvious thing was very booomy bass. I'm looking into curtains and carpet tile for now. If I do curtains, I'm not sure how I would put up a screen, any thoughts?
  17. It's been hard for me to learn this, but BE PATIENT. If your having second thoughts, then do your research and decide on what is best. And always be ready if a deal pops up that cant be beat. This the best advice I have got from this forum when it comes to purchasing used. Good luck!
