Does the Promedia 5.1 Ultra control pod work with the Promedia 5.1 THX system? I mangled the power button on my THX control pod and I'd like to know what options I've got. Is the volume control on the Ultra control pod less temperamental then the THX control pod? Are there any other differences? Also, I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Where did the 5.1 forum go and why was it taken away? I notice that clicking on Promedia 5.1 tags in the Popular Tags box points to many posts in the 5.1 forum that no longer exists (http://forums.klipsch.com/tags/Promedia+5.1+Amp/default.aspx for example). I'm not very happy that this resource was lost, I can't even access any of my previous posts, even though they show up when you click on my post count. Thanks Shea

I'm not sure who makes it, but I know my roommate had an infrared receiver that plugged into a serial or parallel port I believe. It allowed him to change volume,skip through songs in playlists, pretty much do anything you can bind a keyboard key to I believe. I think the infrared receiver was around 30-40 bucks, and then he bought a universal remote to use with it. From there you just bind the settings you want to different keys on the remote. I'll check with him to see who sells the receiver and get back to you. Shea

I would say this is a godsend, except it means the 5.1s are still far enough away that they need a notification list!! Oh well, better than nothing, thanks Shea

About the upgrade to the GTXP...How is it available, via driver updates? And Wetard brought up a good point about the headphone jack being on the front of the XP, I'm not too familiar with the card other than what I've been reading in the forums and a few reviews I've read on other sites, but how would this effect 5.1 output? Regarding the "DTS-ES and DD EX version" version of PowerDVD, is it just an upgrade available to the 3.0 software and what exactly do the -ES and EX extensions mean? Thanks Shea

I'm posting because I'm concerned about the availability of the new Promedia 5.1s from your online store. I've seen and checked out the posts about preordering from www.outpost.com and now I'm trying to figure out how they are offering this. My first conclusion is that this site and any other that may be offering preordering on the 5.1 system is going to put in a bulk order from the Klipsch store when the setup is first available, currently the 15th of July if I'm not mistaken. If this is the case, should individual consumers like myself and the others posting in the forums be worried about the availability or if the system is going to be backordered. I could be totally off target, perhaps www.outpost.com has another arrangement with Klipsch to purchase the 5.1s so they can sell them retail, but even so, would this still eat into the availability through Klipsch's webstore? I wouldn't even be that concerned but I already put my current Promedia 4.1 setup on Ebay in anticipation of the 5.1 release date of July 1rst, only to learn today that its pushed back to the 15th. No complaints there, as long as improvements/tweaks are the reason . Don't know if I'll be able to survive without some Promedia setup for 2.5 more weeks...lol
