  1. Hey all I am getting very little sound from one of my tweeters on my Forte. Here is what I did to try to trouble shoot. The current diaphrams are Bobs Ti. I swiped it with a old diaphragm. Same issue. I then placed the entire housing into the other Forte. Still no change. The sound continued to be faint. Any idea what the issue could be? Does the entire tweeter need replacing? 2. I was in the same boat as you recently. I wanted a receiver that was for music first and movies second. I received a number of excellent suggestions but ultimately went with a Cambridge Audio 551r from accessories4less. My suggestion would be to find a local audio shop using your favorite search engine then go and take a listen. I have not heard the RP250F so I can't comment.
  3. I have just prayed for you, your wife and son. I will pray with my wife shortly and we will pray for you knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. May you have strength, peace and joy through these difficult times. Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
  4. You favor the Forte I over the Forte II? Interesting, as I thought the F-II was considered the "better" sounding speaker.I guess you'll be the judge of that. My Forte I have updated crossovers & diaphragms. I was forced to sell the Forte II before any updates. [emoji20] Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk

  6. I ran into that same issue. I wanted a HT avr that was 85% or so music and the rest for HT. Now that that's covered I need a good preamp. I will grab the Cambridge 551p
  7. Thanks Jim. I replied to you PM
  8. I recently purchased a Cambridge Audio Azur 551r to replace a Integra dtr 6.8. although the Cambridge lacks room correction home theater has been awesome. I hear details that were missing with the Integra. Since I have had such a great experience with Cambridge I am considering a Cambridge phono preamp, the 551p or 651p. My turntable is a Orbit by U-turn. Has anyone compared the 551p and the 651p? Any other suggestions in the same amp range?
  9. Now that I have a few movies under my belt I am really enjoying this receiver. To my ears I am hearing more detail especially from the center channel. With my Integra I was rarely satisfied with the center. With the Cambridge its night and day. Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
  10. Bill, The setup mic only measures distance and speaker size. Distance was accurate but the crossover settings were off so i manually made adjustments. Pulled out the spl and adjusted individual speakers levels. So far I have listened to Muddy Waters Folk Singer & Pink Floyd Dark Size of the Moon. Sounds great. The details on folk Singer Sounds as if Muddy was in the room with me. Compared to my Integra I didn't have to add as much volume. I will let you know how LOTR goes. Im about to watch my demo scenes. 11. I went with the Cambridge Audio Azur 551R. I saved a few $ and will grab a new turntable and Phono amp.
  12. Same seller that's selling the La Scala. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Klipsch-Klipschorn-Speakers-and-FREE-SW15-Subwoofer-with-PWK-Mug-/181971768869?hash=item2a5e5cd625:g:KsIAAOSwJcZWfH5h
  13. Looks like a good deal. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Klipsch-LaScala-Speakers-and-FREE-SW15-Subwoofer-with-PWK-Mug-/181971771869?hash=item2a5e5ce1dd:g:1dUAAOSwZ1lWfIFC
  14. Great speakers. During my single years I had a pair of speakers in every room including a pair of these. To be single again...
  15. Thanks Scrappydue. Whatever I purchase I will share with the forum.
  16. I have heard great things about Emotiva and Anthem. How are they with music? Vinyl first then everything else? I have been looking at Cambridge Audio which seem to get favorable reviews. Most reviews praise how they sound with music. Accessories4less has a few. Anyone have experience with Cambridge? http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/camb650rslva/cambridge-audio-azur-650r-7.1-hdmi-3d-a/v-receiver-silver/1.html
  17. I contacted Onkyo and was told that my Integra missed this by one year.
  18. I looked up the receivers you listed. They look great for HT. My only concern is will I need to buy a separate 2 ch musical amp for the Fortes. What do you think?
  19. Thanks for the responses. That Sherborn looks nice. Looks like I would need to invest in a good phono amp.
  20. I am looking for some input on my next HT receiver purchase. My Integra DTR 6.8 HDMI board just bit the dust. Since the phono stage on the Integra was not pleasing to my ears I used my Pioneer SA 8100 as an amplifier to power my Forte’s and used the Integra as a Pre / Pro. I would like the replace the Integra with either a modern receiver that is musical first and home theater second or separates and move the pioneer to another room. I have been looking at the Cambridge Azur series (has anyone listened to one?). Any suggestions based on personal experience will be greatly appreciated? My max budget is $1500.
  21. When the KG 5.5 was released it sat at the top of the KG line. My KG's had updated Bob Crites crossovers and diaphragms. I have never heard the 4.2 but my dad has updated a pair of 4.5. Comparing to two, the bass was deeper in the 5.5 with the added woofer. Amazing speakers that I would still own if it wasn't for my pursuit of increasing the number of heritage speakers I want to own.
  22. I have a pair of mint RS3 speakers. I'm looking to sale but will trade for a pair of bookshelf speak
  23. Diana Krall has some great music. I would love to hear what other forum members rock to.....
