  1. I bet this flea power amp sounds like heaven with either a Juicy Music Blueberry or Craigs NBS pre's with some...let's say LaScalas.

  4. It looks like that deal has expired or maybe I just can't find it on their site. Do you have a link?
  5. Two of my brothers, some high spirited friends, and I were at the real last Dead show 20 years ago at Soldier Field ( when it didn't look like a spaceship ). We had a blast for many hours before during and after the show in the shadow of that spactacular Chicago sky line. I remember at about 1 am the Chicago PD were driving around the parking lots speaking into their PA's " Time to go home hippies - no camping here - you can go home and shower now ". I lived about two miles northwest of the loop in Bucktown so we continued the fiesta at home.
  6. If I knew post counts were to be considered a currency on this forum I'd have chimed in: GLWS, LOL, wish I were closer, that's what she said, who has the Cornwall vault?, have you tried moving them closer/further to the corner/wall?, not this discussion again, I love cat videos, ...that tube like sound, then she said "thats not your finger and this is not my belly button", that's not raw birch it's lacquer birch, Cornwall II's not I's, have you tried porting?, did you know that the official language of Belgium is Flemish?....................
  7. Shipping freight on a pallet is no guarantee against damage. Stacking pallets on top of pallets is commonplace even if you wallpaper your boxes/crates with "Do Not Double Stack" stickers. All freight companies also place large odd size heavy items that don't fit on standard 40 x 48 pallets on top of others pallets. Freight trucks that are only loaded 5' leave too much unprofitable head space to not fill it and they all do. I ship freight all day every day and receive freight every day at my business - I am not guessing. No amount of shipping instructions will change an industry as competitive as freight. A word of advice when shipping: Instruct the recipient to note damage to packaging / crate on the Bill of Lading when receiving even if you do not know if the item is truly damaged. Take pictures prior to signing. When the truck pulls out it is too late.
  8. True words. Some punishingly tough business negotiators can be also be respected and trusted trading partners. I have several 20+ year relationships that have Frazier / Ali moments but we always jump back in the ring together.
  9. Someone once told me that if both parties in a negotiation walk away feeling like they'd been f@#^&*d the deal was fair. I can't say that is my philosophy but it may be true. My experience is with selling commodities so I must know "what I can live with" as a result and try to do a little better by offering a bundling of products or perhaps a longer term deal. In my business you have only one chance to earn a customer because it is rare to get a second bite at the apple so close the deal and live to fight another day. It is worth noting that the information age has allowed for both sides in a deal to be better prepared when they get to the table.
  10. Thanks for sharing this post. A great read.
  11. No truer words have been written. I hasten to add that the student loan bubble is larger than that of the mortgage crises. The mortgage market is over $8 trillion while the student loan market was $1.3 trillion based on second quarter 2014 data and the student loan market adds about $100 billion in new loans each year. Fjd- Sorry, I mixed up data I read regarding the unsecured debt bubble that included student loans as well as credit card debt.

  13. One would think any Mono set up enthusiast would have their interest peaked at this gorgeous wood horned Khorn. My goodness those are beautiful. Good luck you if you decide to sell, better yet keep them to enjoy yourself. How could you go wrong with fantastic conversation pieces that sound like heaven?
  14. My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your father Alex. He had an uncanny ability to fire a fittingly hilarious gif of TMIMITW into a spirited forum exchange. You could almost hear his wry chuckle in the background. It always brought a belly laugh from me and honestly a bit of envy that I was never as clever. I hope that your Dad's ability to make people feel as though they belonged and were part of something worthwhile brings some small measure of solace to you and your family. He will not be forgotten and his like won't be found again. Peace to you and yours. -Joe
  15. Thank you and the Mrs. for the beautiful design and effort. In.
  16. No experience with Squeezebox Touch, i.e., no basis to form an opinion, other than to confirm that Pono is portable. The Squeezebox Touch is a wireless touch screen + remote DAC that can play/display music located on your computers and devices in your home- all of of your music. It also can play literally every online radio station in the world using an easy to use display interface. It has toslink, digital coaxial, SD, and USB inputs along with analog coax outputs to your home stereo system. I feed mine into Music Hall DACs but it is really unnecessary. I use my units daily and could not live without them. I should add that Logitech no longer manufactures these. I'd also hasten to note that these were $ 200.00 new and now go for more than $ 300.00 used.
  17. Isn't the Pono really just a Squeezebox Touch that is portable and less versatile ?
  18. Perhaps a Sonos style wireless speaker system that utilizes streaming services? Unless of course it already exists in a corner of the Klipsch line up that has escaped my notice.
  19. A First World problem if there ever was one.

    Flash Back

Is that a 506 on the top?

    Flash Back

The504 is best looking Onkyo ever built. There are not a bolder more menacing looking pair of meters in the business. If Darth Vader had a stack of amps it would be these.
  22. I put the CT125's in mine along with the Crites A/4500 crossovers. I cannot really speak as to how much the improvement in sound is owing to the 125's or xovers , When they arrived I was too anxious to hear them to just swap in the tweets. I wish I had. They do sound fantastic and were a marked improvement over the old 77's and tired AA crossovers. Maybe ask Santa for the tweets and post a WTB for A/4500's? You certainly won't be disappointed and you worked hard this year so you deserve it. Right?
  23. Absolutely gorgeous! Someone is going to get a righteous deal. GLWS.
  24. Instead of a suicide bomber you could volunteer to become infected and infiltrate and infect the group I have subcontracted this task to karma.

    Calling Karma

Isn't there a way for karma to arrange a meeting between ISIS and Ebola? Voila' - problem solved.
