  1. I have always thought this table is beautiful.
  2. Could be a deal for a talented veneer craftsman or fantastic garage speakers as is.
  3. That is alot of speaker for $ 980.00. It wouldn't take too much effort to make look brand new.
  4. How about your LSI's????? No way on the LSI's they're so versatile. Maybe the Khorns and the Cornwall decorators.
  5. These are abso F'n lutely gorgeous. I'm inclined to put up some of my hoard for sale.
  6. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/5672470493.html image 3 of 3 The Heritage Series Heresy three-way loudspeaker delivers an exceptionally "big" sound filled with the moving emotional elements that make your music such an important part of your life. The efficient high frequency and midrange horn drivers as well as the reliable 12-inch bass woofer work together to create a very smooth low distortion dynamic sound. http://www.klipsch.com/products/heresy-ii-floorstanding-speaker I purchased these speakers new in 1983, They are sequential Serial Numbers. These are unfinished birch and they come with the original materials from Klipsch and the angled base risers. The risers are not attached so it is easy to finish the speakers any way you would like.
  7. I feel the same way. They are glorious speakers.
  8. LDPE can indeed crack in very cold winter temps. Case in point are those orange road barrel barriers. The upper midwest winters will have several -10 degree days and many at near zero. I would not trust anything other than steel.
  9. Never load anything heavier than a case of beer over bed rails as it is too easy to scratch up the sides of your truck! For what trucks cost I want it to work and look great. I have had two Chevy Silverado 2500 LTZ 4 x 4 trucks totaling just under 400,000 miles and I will buy another for sure. Never had a mechanical problem ever.
  10. SOLD The addition of La Scala Industrial Splits forces a sale. Very presentable but not perfect 77 Cornwalls. There are a few nicks and a ring from some idiotic former owner. Carefully recapped crossovers. The sound is excellent as you would expect. No disappointments acoustically. No badges and there are a couple of snags in the grill fabric. If I were to keep them I would order new fabric from Bob Crites. Sorry for the measly three pics but the site is rejecting the others More pics on the CL ad http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/5524513431.html Local pick up Chicago or Uship ( set up by purchaser ) only for the time being. I have spent my career in the packaging industry and I have zero confidence in UPS and less for Fed Ex. $ 825.00 No trades unless they are ridiculously and absurdly in my favor. -Joe
  11. Lars - Great question. The shipper bid $ 250.00 which I accepted. Uship took an additional $ 25.00 in fees so $ 275.00 total. 935 miles total from McKinney, TX to the Illinois / Wisconsin state line. It is important to note that Uship transporters bid on your job. If you put out for Uship bidding a common route ( Chicago to New York ) you will likely get many bidders and pay less per mile. My bidders totaled exactly 1. I think it was fair and convenient. Next time I do this I will use Uship again.
  12. Congrats….I'd get rid of the Deere, keep all the speakers That Deere 420 is the only untouchable item in the picture. That old Onan P motor gave up it's ghost so I am dropping a new motor in it and it'll get back to work.
  13. My Uship delivery arrived yesterday afternoon. I was happy with the service and will use it again. Now I need to decide what goes on the block.
  14. Replied via PM. Thanks for such detailed and useful information. Big Thanks to you Lars.
  15. Thanks for the heads up Jim. 935 miles for $ 372.00 seems fair to me. I'm trying to figure out if they'd wrap them in moving blankets etc. so they show up in good shape. The owner and I spoke and he's cool with me sending in a shipper. Game on. -Joe
  16. I'm taking a run at these. Does anyone have a recommendation for a pick up shipper similar to a furniture service or...?
  17. Love seeing those CA-2010s and CA-1010s. Have three of each and I just love their sound. In the last couple of weeks I received one 2010 and one 1010 back from a total restorations. They sound magnificent and run a whole lot cooler even in Class A. My opinion is definitely that they are worth the expense. Heck it will be trouble free for a couple decades! The build quality is superb and the CA series have a beautiful aesthetic. Listening to this fresh 1010 right now.
  18. That is the F%$&+^@ Mother Load!
  19. Posting clear detailed pics are the quickest way to get buyers interested in your gear. People frequently are interested in the color of stain or finish on your speakers as well as condition of both the cabinets and grills. Your set up will appeal to many people on the hunt for a complete home theater speaker system. Good luck with your sale.
  20. The arrest was likely for failure to appear in court to answer for nonpayment. Not paying a loan is not a criminal offense.
  21. One possible solution would be for sellers who do not care for unsolicited advice to add a note at the bottom of their post: " Kindly refrain from commenting on the stated price but feel free to ask questions and make offers. -Cheers." In a perfect Garage Sale world one shouldn't have to make such a request but the GS history is replete with folks that just cannot help themselves.
  22. Awhile back I had a pair of Forte's and like them. I'd like to listen to an upgraded pair that has the upgrades this dude did.
  23. My Sansui AU 20000 was restored a few years back by Paul at Many Moons Audio and it sounds astonishing. I am very happy with it. Your location has me wondering if you took your Marantz 2230 to Noah? I currently have a Yamaha CA 1010 and CA 2010 with him and they are due to be finished just about now. Can't wait to hear them after a total restore.
