  1. ............................. Dont tempt me
  2. Thats a hell of a price. I just bought a used one and love it. Before buying mine I sent PM's to the last 2 people on Audiogon that sold them asking selling cost, they went for $1000-$1200
  3. Question for you guys. My HT consists of: Integra DHC-9.9 Anthem Statement A5 RF-82II in front RF-62II for rear RC-52II center My next upgrade will be my center channel. I know that the RC-62II is the recommended center to go with the RF-82II’s but the RC-64II is affordable for me. My Initial thinking is to get the largest speaker I can afford but I also realize that everything has to work in harmony. So … Get the RC-64II or RC-62-II?
  4. DHC-9.9 Bought it from a guy over on AVS forum
  5. My amp came today, an Anthem Statement A5. My be overkill for my Refrence II's but I prefer to think of it as headroom. Now, just hope my Integra gets here soon
  6. Yes ....... I want to see Amy's set up
  7. Ive had my heart set on a Anthem MCA50 but have a chance to purchace a Rotel RMB-1095 in excellent condition for $1000. I have no personal experience with Rotel, pretty much only what Ive read. Thoughts??
  8. I have the AVR-791. I dunno if I would buy it again. No particular reason I don't like it, it has just never given me an "oh wow' feeling. Some of the reason that may be is I bought AVR for $500 which in the world of separates is 1/8 the MSRP cost of a name brand receiver and amp set up. My advice, get something with more power especially if you plan to keep it for awhile.
  9. I have my speakers. Front – Klipsch RF-82II Rear- Klipsch RF-62II Center- Klipsch RC-52II (subject to upgrade) I am having issues deciding on an amplifier. I am leaning heavily on an Anthem MCA 50 but everyone in the world seems to be in love with Emotiva. The pre/pro was easy to decide on, technology grows fast enough I likely will not have it longer then 3-4 years. Amplifiers are different, they pass a signal along amplifying its strength. With an amplifier, the Anthem is pushing my $$ limit but I am a firm believer in purchasing quality, getting what you pay for then expecting it to have a usable life of many many years. Is Emotiva really that quality of a product? It’s just hard to believe that something 1/3 the MSRP cost is of comparable quality as higher end amps.
  10. Well I Bought my RF-82II's for front and moved my RF-62II's to the rear Here are some pics. The room is a spare bedroom I turned into my "Man Cave". Now .. Next question ... Room treatments? What can be done that does not involve major modification?
  11. Thanks for the replys. "what are you ultimately trying to accomplish" -- my goal is to obtain the best sound quality possible "Are you using an amp or are you going to just run the whole thing off an ARV" --- I have a AVR atm but have money socked away to upgrade to a pre/pro and amp. I am looking at the Integra 80.2 / 70.1 combo "Do you just want some surround sound for movies or do you want to make your ears bleed with 5 channel stereo at reference levels" ---- I rarely play my system overly loud but expect the ability to be there.
  12. I have a question I would like to ask before I make a purchase. I currently have a pair of RF-62II’s and a RC-52II. I am about to add rear speakers to my set up. I kind of wish I had purchased RF-82II front speakers and have considered purchasing the 82’s and using my 62’s for rears. I know that rear speakers do not need to be as powerful as that but I do listen to a lot of music. Having never heard RS-62II speakers would this set up work ok or would I be better off with a pair of rear surrounds and keeping the RF-62II’s up front? My logic is I’m going to spend $1200ish anyway so why not get the larger floor stand speakers? I do however realize that size isn’t everything and all said and done I may have been better off with RS rear speakers.
