Hello, I’m looking for a pair of tweeters and horns for my 1977 Cornwalls. Let me know if you have a pair you’d like to get rid of. I’m located in Canada.
  2. I seem to recall some at the top of the speaker as well I just can’t remember if it was part on the top then the rest down the sides?
  3. I removed the foam to work on them a couple of years ago and am coming back to the project but I don’t recall how the foam was placed inside. Any help is appreciated.
  4. If so, could you provide me with accurate measurements of the outside of the cabinet as well as the measurements between the tweeter and the top and between the tweeter and midrange? cheers!
  5. I sent you a message, I will take the b3 networks.
  6. Well, I guess there's one example out of a million.
  7. It actually sounds like a fun project but I wouldn't put too much money into or expect it to be hifi.
  8. Itunes apparently uses a lossless file format so no information should be missing but when I compared it to the cd version of the same song I found it lacking enough to never want to pay for another itunes song again.
  9. Check out this link gang, lots of great stuff including cheap titanium mid diaphragms........... http://www.ebay.com/sch/gtact1/m.html?item=300764651950&pt=US_Speaker_Parts_Components&hash=item4606f861ae&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  10. No, I don't think, even with the upgrades, that the forte will equal the Cornwall. However, if I was pressed for room I could easily live with the forte. My Cornies are stock and my forte II's have new xovers and titanium tweeter and midrange diaphragms and I still much prefer the Cornwalls.
  11. Forget the Paradigms and look for some vintage Klipsch (forte, Chorus, Cornwall). If you have some more bucks and lots of room look for Lascalas and Klipschorns.
  12. One thing to consider is that the add is in Southern Manitoba where big vintage Klipsch are beyond RARE (I know, I live here). Considering that I still think the price is a little high but I would offer him $1000 and go from there.
  13. Brandon, MB Canada. Oddly enough I sold something on ebay to someone in Brandon Florida.
  14. I was only kidding. I would consider doing that more if I had a competent tech around. There's only 2 shops in Brandon and the one guy I took my Marantz to installed a cap backwards and he only had ten to do!
  15. Moray, You over-estimate my capabilities as there is no way I could ever turn a Hafler into that .
  16. Those units are definitely something to lust after. Let me know if you ever come across another one in decent shape as I NEVER see any decent amps/integrateds for sale in the southern Manitoba area. Joe
  17. there's nothing technically different about them at all.
  18. Agreed. Big fan of the Chorus II, as it has the open natured midrange of the Cornwall with the balance of the Forte. The Chorus II has the same mid as the Forte II. The Cornwall and Chorus I share the same midrange exponential horn.
  19. Chorus' need a decent sized room to properly breath so I will go with Fortes on this one. If your room was larger I would say it depends on what you want in a speaker. If mids and highs are your thing then the Chorus is superior but if it's bass extension that you could not live without then I would recommend the Forte (although one could always add a sub to the Chorus). Chorus I's often get a bad rap for lacking in the bass extension region but if placed in the corners of the room the bass is augmented much better and the mids and highs are considerably better than the Forte.
  20. I just looked up the price of the new crossovers on Bob's site and they are $280! Wow, didn't realize they were that much! Considering that and if they're in really good condition I would say that the price is still within reason. Especially considering (as mentioned) that to buy a new set that sounds as good will easily be double that.
  21. Hate to break it to you but Napster has been shut down. Did you ever go into a music store and steal a bunch of cds?
