  2. I liked the Mcintosh C2200. But I now have integrated amps. If i go back to separates I will probably get the Mcintosh C2300.
  3. I saw Roger was in town this week. I bet it was a good show. It looks like he is on the casino circuit.
  4. I have owned a half a dozen different Klipsch heritage and Mcintosh systems. I currently have two. One tube and one solid state. I have to say Mcintosh is one of the best matches out there for Klipsch heritage speakers. However with units that old they need to be recently serviced and recapped to sound best. Just because they are mint does not mean they are up to spec.
  5. A low watt SET amp is all that is required. I prefer more power. It is true most of the time listen below 10 watts, but sometimes I like to raise the roof. I really like the Mcintosh MC275 or MC240. They both sound very nice with Klipschorns. I kindly disagree with the gentlemen that suggested that you do not get a Mcintosh integrated.I am currently running a Mcintosh MA2275 integrated tube amp with a set of Klipschorns and it sounds fantastic. I would highly recommend it.
  6. I like the old format. You could search by brand and it would sort by category. I hope they fix it.
  7. I can't tell you what is best for you. But I can answer your question about the MA2275. Is it good? Yes, I have a MA2275 and it's great. I also have a MA6500 and it works very well too. It is also about half the price of the MA2275. Both are good a choice for your klipsch. Depends do you want tubes or solid state?
  8. Sweet amp! Good job on your purchase. Enjoy the music.
  9. You will love it! It is a great little amp. A good match with your heresys. Klipsch + Mcintosh what more could a guy want ? Oh yeah , those blue meters.
  10. I think that Speakerfritz point is valid from his experience. But his is not the only experience. I did not buy my tube amps from a restorer or a boutique builder. My purchase was not a crap shoot nor has it ever been a project. I have never experienced humm's, crackles, pops, buzzes, or smells. I simply bought new amps from an authorized dealer of top quality manufacturer. My only project has been to enjoy the music. I know that there are good amps out there in your budget. You might have to do a little traveling to find the right one for you. But that can be part of the fun.
  11. I do not know if you have every considered mcintosh integrateds? I have a mcintosh ma6500 that I recently had serviced. They repaced the bulbs and capacitors. The unit looks and sounds like new. It has connections for two sets of speakers so it will run both a set of cornwalls and heresys. It is just sitting in a closet. I only have room for one system right now and I am using my Mcintosh tube set up. I would be glad to hook it up for a demo. If you like it, I would make you a deal. You may only be interested in older Mcintosh seperates and that is cool. But Mcintosh integrateds are a good option. The bad news is although I used to live in Arkansas, now I live in Oklahoma. I am probably as far away from you as Dallas.
