  1. A might bit chilly this am/last night. Down in the 20s for sure maybe the high teens up at 2000 ft where I live. The puddles left by the last 5 days of rain had ice on top this morning. But the sun is shinning again. Strange, bright and sunny but the thermometer in my car said 29 degrees on the way into work this morning.
  2. How's the weather you say? Soggy. I'm looking for an Ark. They say we need the rain...the ocean is not full yet.
  3. I don't see why not. As long as it is big enough to make it stable. High freq energy coming out of a tweeter is not going to move it. Just make sure that it won't stick out past the back of the cabinet if the user is setting the tweeter back to align with the mid driver.
  4. Hey @Dave A what kind of wood is that in pix 1,2 and 4 above? I know 3 is oak. That stuff is beautiful IMO.

  6. Boring!!!!! This is the best we can do????????????? Glad I didn't have people over, what a disappointment. Snore.
  7. 3-0 half time. Seems like it's anyones game. One touchdown wins it?
  8. Floor looks great @CECAA850. I would love to do the same. I just don't know who I can trust out here to do it properly. This weekend was the first in a long time that it rained and I was home. So instead of outdoor chores I actually got stay in and get some indoor stuff done. Got some wire chases installed in the utility room so I can get all the 2 channel basement system wires up off the floor. That way the next time the water heaters gives it won't be a complete disaster.
  9. Again I say a watt is a watt is a watt. Excessive clipping can be what causes the average power to rise beyond the power rating of a given voice coil. But a 1 watt squarewave fed into a 10 watt voice coil makes it fail, ah no.
  10. At the same time. Not so critical with wires and connectors but with semi conductors it is. If the iron is left on the item being soldered after removal of solder the temperature rises dramatically and can damage the device. But yea connectors are for convenience, service ability, adaptability etc...
  11. Sounds like a tape loop output not a preamp out. Preamp out level should vary with signal level and volume control.
  12. If you've got a voice coil capable of dissipating 10 watts and you only put 1 watt in it won't care if its a sinewave or a squarewave. You may not like how it sounds but a watt is a watt.
  13. If you're going from RCA outputs(unbalanced) to XLR inputs(balanced) make sure the cables are wired properly. I know the Monoprice ones are done properly from personal experience. I can't speak for any of the others.
  14. I guess it depends on what is meant by "lesser engineered/mastered".
  15. Horns are honky, don'tcha know. Had to steal your line @Coytee
  16. FYI @Westcoastdrums at the pilgrimage during the factory tour they take you in there. It's errie, scary quiet, definitely non echoic, non reverberant.

    Jokes?

You know what you like, right?
  18. No, nobody here bi -amps Nothing to see here, move along. But seriously PrestonTom has asked the beginning questions. Are you talking about active or passive? If active you will get plenty of help here. But first you will need a calibrated microphone and a computer running REW(or similar).
