  1. Thanks for that Trey. I kind of figured that was a possibility. Through American Cinema Equip?
  2. And the tweeter cannot be brought up to factory spec as far as I understand. No factory diaphragms or OEMs are available.
  3. Yea I know. Anything we do out here way west of the Rockies is just a band aid. I grew up in Michigan and we did not know what a calcium deposit was.
  4. Because of the power glitch? Or totally un related? Just curious.
  5. Already done, been on the incoming water since almost day one. If you're getting as much calcium as you say, your filter is either the wrong type or not working. What make and model do you have? Normal filters won't pull calcium out of the water. My system is one of these: http://www.onewatersystems.com/home-water-filter-san-diego/1054-small-family-home and attached is one of these: http://www.onewatersystems.com/how-it-works/amp-force-technology/ Just FYI
  6. Not an abnormal amount, no sulphur smell. Its "city water" not a well.
  7. Already done, been on the incoming water since almost day one.
  8. Yes the kitchen sink just got a new faucet. It's a pullout and I think the leak was in the pullout hose but Moen said "let's just take the guesswork out of it and replace the whole thing". Its the hard, hard water here and the chloramines added to the water. It just destroys everything. That said it STILL SUCKS. I know more about plumbing now then I ever wanted to if ya know what I mean. Plus it keeps me away from our mutual audio hobby The super here at work said I should check my water pressure also, perhaps the pressure regulator at the input to the house has given up the ghost.
  9. Yea that's a definite typo. Maybe '65 or '55. Purchased mine brand new in '77.
  10. So I should have to replace it once a year? Replace once a year = JUNK, IMHO. Did you see the link I posted where the guy showed the "extractor" tool? That is the exact cartridge I have.
  11. You got it. This is the 3rd or is it the 4th time the "thermostatic" (temperature) cartridge has been replaced in a 5yr old house(WTF?). But this is the first time the thing broke apart during extraction.
  12. Nope. The set up is this: https://www.plumbersstock.com/moen-270bn-vertical-shower-spa-brushed-nickel.html?gclid=CK_0zsLnicwCFcdhfgodN8YIMA
  13. Well got the shower cartridge replaced last night with the borrowed tool. Amazing what having the right tool can do for ya. Noticed a crack in one of the plastic parts when re assembling, Moen is now sending some new ones of this part also. Now I still have a very, very slow leak from the overhead shower head, just enough to make a very small puddle in the bottom of the shower overnight. Need to replace the "volume" cartridge now, the first one was the "thermostatic" cartridge... Hey Moen send me some of those also... What a PITA
  14. Happy B Day Richard. Keep up the good work.
  15. Well the new kitchen faucet went in without a hitch...Praise God. So at least I got one chore finished this weekend. The master shower remains unfinished but the good news is the super at my work thinks we have the tool I need to get that bastard out. Time for a cocktail..... Cheers Buds and Budettes
  16. Do you have any listening fatigue while listening to your KHorns? If so I would pursue changing the K400/401 midrange horn out for a wooden tractix horn. I changed mine for the Fastlane eliptracs on the KHorns and just the regular tractix on the LaScalas and have never looked back. I can't speak to the Volti horns I've never heard them.
  17. The internet is a Great thing I need some of these "extractor" bits!! http://www.plbg.com/forum/read.php?1,517903 Think they'd have these at Homer D Poe's?
  18. the cartridge is inside this beast
  19. Well true to form.... can not even get the old leaking shower cartridge out of the valve body in the master shower. The cartridge and body have become one due to the calcium deposits. Part of the cartridge came out the rest remains stuck. Seems like the fact that part of it came out it was broken, don't know how it was working at all. The good news is there are two other showers still working in the house.
  20. He got P.O.d about something, I don't know what and his last post said "I'm outta here".
  21. Happy Friday All, Well its supposed to rain on and off all weekend here in sunny southern California. Time to get some inside chores done. Leaky shower valve to replace, leaky kitchen faucet also needs replacing. Hope I can get a least one of these tasks done without breaking 10 other things. Hard water sucks! Plumbing sucks! Took my wife to the airport yesterday, she's off to see and take care of her Mom in Peru. MIL is still not back to normal after her fall last June. On the brighter side I picked up a third RSW-15 on the way back from the airport. Perhaps I can also get that puppy cleaned up and into the house this weekend. Cheers
  22. Glad to hear you're still with us. Take it easy for a while. Pneumonia is nothing to fool around with. In the end it is what most people die from.
