  1. Will it be safe/okay to place a 55 lbs TV on top of a RC-64 II/III?
  2. On the AVS Forum's official thread for this pre/pro, there are quite a lot of reports of various bugs and glitches with this pre/pro. Actual audio performance is good but it seems there are a lot of bugs/glitches with the AVM 60. Thought I would reach out here as well to get an idea of what people's experience has been with the AVM 60.
  3. Thanks. However, will an amp like the ATI Signature AT6000 out-class a RF-7 III/RC-64 III based setup? Is it possible to have amps that are "too good" for Klipsch speakers? The amps will costs more than the whole Klipsch speaker set.
  4. I really don't think I'll be able to go with a projector due to the layout of the room. Maybe I'll post some pictures of the room later on to give you a better idea. I probably could get a projector if I use a retractable screen but then I'll lose Dolby Vision as no current home theater projectors support it. As for the amplifier power, I've heard from many people that the larger Klipsch speakers "wake up" with more power. Sound quality improves as well as other sound-specific qualities. Might as well provide them with ample power to ensure I get the best out of them. By the way, I am probably ditching those ATI class-D amplifiers and going with the ATI Signature Amplifiers such as the AT6007.
  5. Another quick question... I've planned the following: Mains: 2 x RF-7 III Center: 1 x RC-64 III Side surrounds: 2 x RP-250S Back surrounds: 2 x RP-250S Ceiling speakers: 4 x KPT-801 Would you say I should also get the KPT-801 for the side and back surrounds to match the ceiling speakers or stick with the RP-250S for the side and back surrounds while having the KPT-801 for the ceiling speakers? I'm just guessing, but I would have thought having identical speakers for all the surrounds/ceiling speakers would be better (unless the RP-250S will be a better match for the RF-7 III and RC-64 III).
  6. No one? Maybe I should have posted this in the Klipsch Pro section/forum.
  7. Can the C-bracket that ships with the KPT-801 be used to mount the speaker to a concrete ceiling?
  8. Just wondering how many of you have no plans to get/add Atmos and DTS:X for your home theater? How many of you are satisfied with 5.1/7.1 even with 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays out?
  9. Any comments on the above? If I had to guess, the timbre matching shouldn't be an issue (but would still like to confirm) and there will be no new surround speakers to match the upcoming RF-7 III and RC-64 III.
  10. Will there be any timbre matching issues with having the RP-250S as side and back surround speakers and the KPT-801 as ceiling speakers? Lastly, will there be new surround speakers to match the new RF-7 III and RC-64 III speakers or will you be required to get something from the existing Reference Premiere line (such as the RP-250S)?
  11. When will we see more info on the RF-7 III? All we have right now are some pictures. Any idea for a release date? Also, @Youthman, right now you have a 7.1 setup, correct? If so, will you be getting Atmos later on by adding ceiling speakers?
  12. Yep, the room does currently have quite a bit of slap echo and I will be adding some acoustic panels with the new setup (current home theater is in the same room). However, anything on the RF-7 III corner placement question?
  13. Quick question... My room is concrete all around. If my front two RF-7 III speakers are basically right in the front corners of the room (close the side wall but about 1 ft away from the back wall), will this cause any serious adverse effects on imaging or on the overall sound quality?
  14. Thanks. My room is roughly 15 ft long x 12 ft wide x 9.5 ft high. I will add more subwoofers later on as budget permits. As for RP-160M vs. Klipsch bipole surrounds, aren't monopole surrounds recommended for Atmos setups? One last thing... In the same room mentioned above, I have my current setup consisting of the 2001-2002 original RF-7s, RC-7, and RS-7. I have to say the imaging of the RF-7s is very poor. It sounds like the sound is coming right out of the speakers and not simply "existing in space". Setup issue or characteristic of the speakers? Will the newer RF-7 IIIs offer better imaging (not sure how we'll know at this stage though)?
  15. Thanks for the replies. Last I heard about the release date of the RF-7 III and RC-64 III was fall (or was it Q4?) 2017. Is that still true? Lastly, will the rest of the Reference Premier line be staying the same even after the release of the RF-7 III/RC-64 III or will there be new models to match? Particularly referring to the RP-160M.
  16. This is what I'm planning for my new home theater. Current home theater setup is listed in my signature. TV: Sony KD-65A1 (European version of US model Sony XBR-65A1E) Ultra HD Blu-ray player: OPPO UDP-203 Processor: Anthem AVM 60 Amplifiers: ATI AT543NC (3 x 500 watts Class D for LCR) + ATI AT528NC (8 x 200 watts Class D for surrounds, back surrounds, and ceilings) Mains: 2 x Klipsch RF-7 III Center: 1 x Klipsch RC-64 III Side surrounds: 2 x Klipsch RP-160M Back surrounds: 2 x Klipsch RP-160M Ceiling: 4 x Klipsch Pro KPT-801 (have a concrete ceiling and cannot use in-ceiling speakers) Subwoofer: *continue using my single Seaton Sound SubMersive*
  17. Taking the advice in this thread, how's the following setup? Amplifiers: ATI AT543NC (3 x 500 watts) for LCR + AT528NC (8 x 200 watts) for sides, backs, and ceilings Mains: 2 x Klipsch KI-396-SMA-II Center: 1 x Klipsch KI-398-RGL Side surrounds: 2 x Klipsch KI-102-SMA-II Back surrounds: 2 x Klipsch KI-102-SMA-II Ceiling speakers: 4 x KI-172-SMA-II Subwoofers: 2 x Seaton Sound SubMersive HPi+ + 2 x Seaton Sound SubMersive HP-Slave
  18. I asked this question in one of my other threads but never got a response so thought I could try starting a thread on the topic. Basically, I want to know if I can use the JBL Pro SCS 8 speakers for ceiling speakers for Atmos/DTS:X with a Klipsch RF-7 III/RC-64 III based setup. My ceiling is concrete and cannot use in-ceiling speakers. The SCS 8 is often used for Atmos/DTS:X ceiling speaker duties in JBL Pro and JBL Synthesis setups. Could they work with a Klipsch setup? Will there be any major issues of timbre matching and other such issues? JBL Pro SCS 8: http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/cinema-market/scs-spatially-cued-surround-loudspeakers/scs-8#.WRf_WpKGPcs
  19. If I get the 396 for front left and right and the KI-398-RGL for center, do you recommend surrounds from the Cinema line or the Permanent Installation line? Secondly, there will no timbre or other "matching issues" with using the 396 as front left/right and the 398 as center?
  20. Thanks for the replies. Any comments/opinions on the DT Screens AT Ref? Their website states "Surface structure indistinguishable from approximately 0.5m." Only disadvantage of the DT Screens AT Ref is the maximum height of the screen can only be up to 1.9 meters (which is fine by me as I only need a screen that is around 100" diagonal 16:9). I'll try to get samples of the V6 UltraWeave AT Screen and the AT Ref. How large should the samples be in order to accurately sample the image of the screen?
  21. My plan was to use a solid 100" diagonal 16:9 screen and have the speakers to the sides of the screen (and the center speaker above or below the screen). However, if I end up with the JBL M2 for LCR (one of my possible candidates), I will need an AT screen (around 100" diagonal 16:9) as it is a floorstanding speaker. On another note, I probably could stretch the viewing distance to 7.5-8 ft. Only issue with this will be the side surround speakers being slightly in front of the main listening position. I've done some research on this and it seems if you have back surrounds, you can have the side surround speakers slightly in front of the MLP. Any comments/opinions from you guys on this?
  22. Anything on the above? Also, one more question... What is the max and peak SPL capability of the RP-160M? Will the RP-160M be able to keep up with the RF-7 III and RC-64 III as side and back surrounds?
  23. Can a woven AT screen work with a viewing distance of roughly 7 ft? Or will visual artifacts be too visible from this viewing distance? I've heard good things about the DreamScreen V6 UltraWeave AT Screen which is known to have a very tight weave. I assume micro-perforated screens are out of the question as you need to be at least 11-12 ft from the screen in order to not see the micro-perfs. https://dreamscreen.no/collections/projection-screens/products/dreamscreen-acoustic-ultrahd-v6-screen-fabric-2x4-5m-79-x-177-fit-all-system
  24. If I want to stay with a RF-7 III and RC-64 III based setup and want ceiling speakers (but they cannot be in-ceiling due to my concrete ceiling), could I use the JBL Pro SCS 8 speakers for the Atmos/DTS:X ceiling speakers? They can be easily mounted to a ceiling as they come with a bracket. These speakers are often used for Atmos/DTS:X duties in JBL Pro setups but I am not sure how well they will mate with the Klipsch speakers. 25. One more question... If I use the RP-140SA for its intended use (i.e. sitting on top of the front and rear speakers), are they actually effective in creating the Atmos height/ceiling effect? My room is concrete and roughly 15 ft long x 12 ft wide x 9-9.5 ft high. Just want to know how the Atmos "bounce sound off of ceiling" speakers actually convey the Atmos height/ceiling effect.
