  1. I would be interested, Dean. '78 K-Horns--BEC refreshed AA/A '87 Belles--with the hated AB neworks '82 Corns--not sure of the network Version..but they are the original Single '78 Cornwall--Also not sure of the network version..but it is original Thanks, Dean.. JJ
  2. Thanks for the great info thus far. I have a pair of '78 WO K-horns that were badly neglected before I got them. They were dirty and had many coats of Old English polish to clean off. Now it's time to apply some oil and it was suggested by someone here (Sorry not to give credit where credit is due) as well as Jim Hunter ( At Klipschstock 2005) to use Birchwood-Casey Tru Oil. This is the oil that was used at the factory. PLEASE NOTE!!! I asked this question specifically in regards to 1978 W/O K-Horns. This may or may not be true for other years or other Heritage models. UYOJ!!! (Use your own judgment) This is the route I'm going to take and will keep you informed on my quest. I won't promise any pictures at this time. JJ
  3. $3.29 in NW Wisconsin. But that was an hour ago!!! JJ
  4. Congrats on the K-Horn purchase!! Were these the ones on AudiogoN? If so, you beat me to the punch on those beauties. It appears that they went to a good home so enjoy!!! I sure do enjoy mine. JJ
  5. Thank you all for your input.. The decision has been made.... I'm buying the Peach. The HT Bypass was the clincher (Thanks Carl for your input regarding this). I think this feature far out weighs the "maybe in the future" venture to vinyl. JJ
  6. I have narrowed down my Pre-Amp choices to one of these three. Was ready to pull the trigger on a Merlin until I saw that Mark has a Peach Refurb for $995 and a fellow forum member has a Blueberry for sale for $1,000. I'm on a tight budget, so a full priced Peach or Blueberry is out of the question. With all these great deals available, I'm totally clueless on which way to go. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!! Also, I want to thank GaryMD and Guy Landau for keeping an eye out for a pre-amps for me. Backgroud: -Don't listen to LP's, but who knows, that may change. -Will be hooking the Preamp to either a ST-70 or the cheap little Teac 700 -Only need a couple of inputs..But more would be nice JJ P.S. Does the original Peach have the HT pass-through function? This may prove useful for my system does pull double duty: HT and 2 channel

The Lodestar Astronomy Center sounds very interesting. JJ
  9. I'll be in Albuquerque, NM, on business next week (8/8-8/12) and was wondering what there is to do or see in this fine city. Most of my evenings will be free so long distant sight-seeing trips may be out of the question. Thank you in advance for your suggestions, recommendations..etc. JJ
  10. I had the same concerns, resevations, etc using Belle's in a HT set-up BUT those are all gone now. My, new to me , Belles have replaced the Cronwalls up front and they are mated with a KLF-C7 center (temporarily). The pair of Cornwalls that were up front are now my side surrounds. The rear array consists of a pair of '78 K-Horns and a Single Cornwall for rear back channel. To round out the system, I'm running a SVS 16-48 subwoofer. I only got to listen to this set-up for a short time (my Crossovers for the K-horns are at Dr BEC's Crossover hospital) but it has done wonders for my HT setup. Carl: Consider this your only warning!! I'll be flooding you with questions about what you are using for amplification in your system(s). I tried to decipher it from your system profile but got confused. JJ
  11. The only advice I can give is take your time and the right pair of speakers will come along. I have searched/waited for Belles for about 5 years and finally last week I was able to score a pair that was only 80 miles away. The only concession I made was that they were Oak and IMO it wasn't a huge compromise. Good Luck on your search, or what I like to call a 'Quest', for Heritage Speakers. Jon P.S. The above mentioned Belles are the ones that Cut-Throat, a forum member, had for sale. I'll be posting a review/comparison very soon.

  14. See the thread in the 2 Channel Forum. The guy selling them is playing the bidding game. JJ
  15. I chose "A". There was something a little off regarding both of them, IMO, but "A" was my clear flavorite. JJ

  18. It appears that I'm the late one so far. I'm due to arrive at 4:46pm. I don't expect anyone to make a special trip, so I'm just throwing my arrival time out there just in case. Thanks JJ
  19. Not a gosh darn thing!! Which is ok because I don't have any kids...or none that I know of anyway. But I did buy myself a Teac Amplifier. Does that count??? JJ I don't think I'll make 100 posts by the Pilgramage. Oh well, another goal unaccomplished.
  20. Sorry, Russ. I tried to change your forum name and butcher your eBAy name in one swoop. On another note, I finally bought some grill cloth from Ralph. Got 7 yards of it to do all four side grills on the K-horns. Should be just enough to do the job....I intend to screw up a lot. Thanks again for sending the sample piece. JJ

  22. Please put me on the list as someone who may be willing to go halfsies. Thanks JJ
