  6. Bump for Cut-Throat!! I've had the privledge to audtion Cut-Throats system with these mods and it sounds fantastic. If you are looking to experiment with K-Horn mods, this is the one you must buy!! And the seller is, as Jacksonbart would say, Top Notch!!!!! Thanks JJ
  7. I think its MN speaker tour time. Go see Cut-Thoats Oris K-horns and Ref_Heads cinemaplex
  8. I think it was around '83 they stopped using a letter to signify year made. Thanks JJ
  9. I though I read somewhere when the forum was about to move that the sig may not come over and should be saved out. I did not save my sig line so I had to re-create it when I logged into the new site. So, if you can't find your signature line using Budman's great instructions, then that might be what happend. Thanks JJ
  10. You guys are correct. The NR 626 does have Audyssey capabilities and should have come with a mic. Made a call and have one coming. Thanks JJ
  11. Are you sure about that? Maybe I'm missing something? http://www.onkyousa.com/Products/model.php?m=TX-NR626&class=Receiver#features Auto Speaker Calibration W/Mic. ✓ (Audyssey MultEQ) The unit was a re-furb from Woot and there wasn't an Audyssey setup kit in the box. Maybe I got shorted. I didn't see the Audyssey setup in any of the menus when setting things up. Hmmm I'll take a closer look when I get home. I do have the setup kit from a different Onkyo so no biggie. Thanks for pointing that out!!! JJ
  12. I just bought a NR626 and it does not have audyssey calibration. I was quite surprised it didn't but I was more after HMDI capabilites for it's replacing my old, but still going strong Denon 3801.
  13. I have the following shoe horned in one room that is 23X12..and yes, I live alone. HT: 3 CW up front with a single CW handling the rear center duty. The sides are RS-3's so not completely heritage. 2 Channel #1 Pair of Belles powered by a Scott 299c and at times a JM Blueberry W/cream -Musical Hall 2.1 TT. 2 Channel #2: Pair of K-Horns powered by a modded point to point ST-70, JM Peach for the Pre duties, and a run of the mill DVD player. Not perfect but it suits me fine. The K-horns are on the short wall due the lack of corners and the Bells are on a half wall that separates the livingroom and the kitchen which that is on one side of the long wall. Thanks JJ

    Got Lucky

I would like to know where all my 9/16 and 1/2in sockets and wrenches are!!??!!!
  15. There are three parts being changed in that mod. The 12X4 rectifier, the 6.3V bridge rectifier and the 3A regulator. All these are being changed to improve long term reliability. The 12X4 will be replaced with SS diodes, the bridge is being changed from 10A to 30A and the low voltage regulator is being changed from 3A to 5A. Mark: I may be interested in this upgrade/mod so I'm going to contact you via email to get the particulars. Thanks JJ
  16. Anything that T-Bone Burnett had/has a hand in...and as mentioned earlier, anything that has to do with Talking Heads or solo David Byrne.
  17. It so tainted what managers and record companies wanted to achieve that many a great band and music never saw distribution and discovery. How many other great sounding and entertaining bands that could have been will never be known. That is why I am a fan of "Little Steven's Underground Garage" on satellite radio. It features samples of bands and music I never knew existed. That and Seti's blog posts on some interesting bands keeps my backlog of new material to listen to quite high. Brad Whats that you say???!!?? Seti's blog has more to it then just Retro Friday HiFi Hotties!!!! I guess I will have to scroll down a bit further on Friday's
  18. The RF-3's were my first Klipsch speakers (2001 if memory serves me correctly) and have been impressed with them ever since. Like so many others before me, the Heritage bug bit me in a big way so the RF-3's were demoted to my bedroom system, along with the rest of the set (RC-3, RS-3's) My main system progression went from RF-3's--->KLF-30's--->Cornwalls. Like the Heresy's in Heritage line, the RF-3's are the best bang for the buck in the RF-series, imho of course Thanks JJ
  19. I will make sure that I queue up my Holst's CD on Friday night..Won't be the same as what you will be hearing..but it's the best I can do Last Concert I attended.....Black Brook Pre-schoolers...1 hr of Pop goes the weasel...Twinkle Twinkle little star...and what I think was Mary had a Little Lamb...All done with recorders.. Ok the last legit concert I've been to...Black Brook Pre-schoolers
