Has anyone had ( or listened to) both the RF-83 and RF-63? What are the differences, (besides the physical) your impressions and feelings about the sound of the two types of speakers? Thanks for your input in advance. (Opus, I know you have had both types of speakers.---are you listening?)

I haven't set the system up yet, but I will be using a Onkyo TX-NR3007 with Odyssey equalization. The system is going to consist of La Scalas in front, Academy Center, Forte II on the sides (the speakers without back walls) and Forte II's in the back with a HSU sub on one side and a M&K sub on the other side or a AVR MFW-15. Any suggestions on the equalization across the board on the speakers and the subs. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone used a Forte positioned alone without wall behind them in a large room? How does it sound????? Thanks for your response.

Howdy, Ski Bum has the right idea on this one. Buy the 280s to appease the little lady and keep the Quartets and put them in a useful place. (study, den, basement, garage, etc.) Obviously, you like the sound of the Quartets by making the investment by upgrading them---continue to enjoy their sound.

Hello JustAuBy, Can you please explain the banana plug rig that you have set-up for the positive and negative wires to the crossover. I can recognize the jumpers and the positive and negative connector that looks like it is pulled from the back of a speaker. Also, how did you find spades that small to connect to the crossover? DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY A SPOOL (50 FT.) OF OXYGEN FREE COPPER SPEAKER CABLE (12 GAUGE?) AND NAKAMICHI BANANA PLUGS OR SPADES TO TERMINATE. I FOUND THIS IS THE SMARTEST WAY TO GO ABOUT THE PROCESS. THIS WAY YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THE LENGTH OF THE CABLES AND HAVE EXTRA FOR INSTALLATIONS DOWN THE ROAD. ALL THIS CAN BE FOUND ON E-BAY.(DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR TO BOOT!)

Your best bet is to call parts. I had to buy some once upon a time, I don't remember them being that expensive. You may also see if they have the carpet spikes for the feet, if you need them.-----Ed
