  2. Was looking at the posts and saw Boxx up in the top left corner. We miss you old buddy!
  3. It is a nice look with likely a higher WAF, possible resonance improvements aside.
  4. I am coming in late and have read the OP and following ones. I must admit I am confused by actual graphs you are displaying. Some graphs have labels and some do not. Here and there through the thread I see references to the different color line meanings. Also, are all these measurements from a single LP and at the same exact height? In the OP what are the graphs? All 8 subs only without mains or the first one with set to large and second set to small? What is the red line and what is the blue line? You didn't explain or label anything and my pea sized brain can't put it together. In the 6th post: 1st graph small second large? Red lines are measured with mains and blue are the mains or the subs only? If I had MCACC I would probably know what these graphs and lines mean. Please help me put this together in my head so I am not spending all my brain cells trying to figure out what the actual problem and question is.
  5. What would we ever do without Carl? Don't be a smart *** and say throw a party.
  6. When I was a kid, I used to draw space ships in class when I was bored. I built lots of models of spaceships and planes. This takes me back to when I was a kid and saw an actual satellite launched at Cape Canaveral when I was 5 years old in the 60's.
  7. If you don't mind me saying so, that Roger Russell chart on wire gauge is a bit of snake oil. I like this more modern calculator: http://www.bcae1.com/images/swfs/speakerwireselectorassistant.swf Use copper wire, not copper clad aluminum. For in walls you want CL-2 rating. For inside ducts and plenums you want CLM rated. Monoprice.com is a very good source for speaker wire.
  8. You said 3.1. Is there a center speaker? That receiver would work fine in any case. I like the idea of the wifi and other wireless abilities it has.
  9. I will be the Devil's Advocate here. RB-81's are new stuff and Heresy's are old stuff. RB-81s are from the days of AVR's and Heresy's are from the days of receivers and amps. You get a different feel from old stuff in many ways. Hook those Heresy's up to a big old solid state stereo receiver and play and enjoy them more.
  10. That's what I get for being away for an extended period.
  11. I think you got the details right. A picture would help a lot though. That bit about "expert" sounds arrogant, IMO. If you want to get them excited about Klipsch speakers, the best way is to downplay how good they sound and look and let them hear them for themselves. They come in and see these beat up things then you turn them on. Guys in cars call them sleepers. Check it out:
  12. Wait a second. I am actually connected from space.... How are things down there?
  13. It never fails to amaze me just how complex the answers to simple questions about audio can be. I read through the responses, and I was prepared to stop reading after looking at the graphs Chris pointed to. Everything from the rule of thumb answers to the logarithmic scales is pertinent here. To have more precise answers, the question needs to be much more complex and specific. Perhaps simple questions are simply rhetoric questions. How do you ask a question that yields lower subjective response and more measurable and objective response? By asking very specific questions. How about this one taken right from the OP: I have A/B compared the Chorus and Forte II. Why is the Chorus quite noticeably louder with only a rated 2 db difference in max output than the Forte II? The most likely and obvious answer to that specific question is that the Chorus is more efficient by 2 db.
  14. You lie well! Your dad would be very proud of you, and now your father's memory will not only live on in the minds of you and your family, but in this man's life and family. Your type of character is contagious. You honor your father in so many ways! I only hope my sons love me as much as you loved your dad.
  15. I have missed so much, I don't know where to start. Any big news in the past few months I should know about? Good or bad, go ahead and hit me now...
  16. I really like the Powergate. That's new and a brilliant idea! http://www.klipsch.com/products/powergate
  17. Wow! I really like the looks of those! I am surprised there isn't more feedback! I know what I have on my Christmas list now! Very cool indeed!
  18. How has everybody been? I have missed you all! I will doing some catching up with you all today. I'm sorry I dropped off the planet on ya. I discovered a space exploration video game of all things. Ironic, since in a way I did drop off the planet..... I never was much of a gamer before now, but I've always loved space and sci-fi. The game I have been playing is Star Citizen. It is a crowd funded space game ($138 million) that is still in it's infancy, and yet more enjoyable and real than any sci-fi game I have ever seen. Here is the website for the game: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/. If you like it and decide to join, use my referral code and you will get 5,000 UEC (what they call money). My referral code it: STAR-G55K-CWXN Be warned, this is almost as bad as Klipsch when it comes to a bottomless pit. It is very easy to get sucked into spending....... I am dead serious! I joined an organization called Aces High. http://aceshi.org/ is their website. Interestingly, the team is made up of about the same type folks as hang our here. A bunch of scientists, engineers and other types of nerds. Our leader is a lovely lady called Breezy. In real life, she is a Senior Controls and Automation Engineer for Universal Studios. Does anybody here have Star Citizen? Did any of you play Wing Commander back in the olden days? Chris Roberts, who is making this, was the guy who published that game. Technology is giving him the opportunity to create the game he always wanted Wing Commander to be.
  19. It's great that you revived this old thread. I still have a bunch of KPT-200's that I intended to use but are simply taking up space.
  20. This was filmed out where I live. My house sits on Winding Rd. My favorite drive in West Virginia is the 30 mile stretch of route 219 between Huttonsville, WV and Snowshoe. The curves are banked, the lanes are wide, there isn't much traffic, and the scenery is as good as it gets. I will make a video of that ride some time. It is as good as it gets IMO.
  21. Thanks Neil. My eyes are so bad that reading glasses don't work sometimes. The build description doesn't mention the masters - Brakes: Wilwood Brakes performance triple pedal assembly. Wilwood Brakes triple remote reservoir setup in front trunk. Wilwood Brakes 2 lbs. residual valve installed. 4 wheel disc brakes, front performance solid rotors, rear GT drilled rotors. Wilwood Brakes Hi-Temp 570 degree racing brake fluid. Gates Racing premium high-temp remote reservoir lines. -3AN stainless steel brake lines w/polished fittings, coated in Smoked Black Transparent protective coating, D.O.T. approved. I just assumed they were part of a Wilwood kit for floor pedals and remote reservoir with 4x disc brakes.
  22. Nick is mine and so is the car. In fact that is me driving it. Nick just graduated from Marshall University last December with a couple business majors. His video editing is self taught. Driven by passion. He also has a passion for cars.
