  1. Does anyone know the composition of Klipsch IMG woofer? I called them plastic in a video and someone was a tad rude. Before I reply, I would like find out if anyone knows what Klipsch is using in their IMG woofers. Here is what Klipsch says but it sounds like marketing to me: “5.25" copper-spun high-output IMG woofer” I know IMG stands for Injection Molded Graphite but that could be 1% graphite and 99% plastic. I’m assuming the copper part covers the color of the woofers and not that there’s actually copper in them. The newer “Reference” series woofers definitely feel plastic to me.. Not trying to put anyone down with IMG woofer speakers, just want some clarification. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Oh yeah, those grill defects would be a major no-go for me. I hope you get them sorted soon! I’m sure more power would get you better bass but if it’s bass that you want, have you considered a subwoofer or two? If your more of a traditional guy 2-channel type, I have two separate systems for this exact reason, I get it if you don’t want to add a sub. I get it. But If it’s bass your lacking, why not add the speaker that was specifically designed to produce just that, bass? Beautiful speakers by the way! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Not the greatest deal ever but they sure are beautiful! https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/ele/d/everett-klipschorn-corner-horns/7164879325.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. They are RP-600M in Gloss. I’ve really been enjoying them. Picked them up from Sound Distributors about a month ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I think you’re right.. Been single a little too long this time. Haha I’m hoping to buy a place soon but who the heck knows, these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I just looked up those XT Mini up, looks like a great little speaker. You really prefer the 4” woofer, over electrostatics? They are also very reasonably priced so these might be in the review horizon! These are Martin Logan Source, which are a step down from ESL’s. Still great sounding, I’ve owned both and the ML Purity. Oh, the Klipsch are the RP-600M. They have been pretty awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The cabinet might get moved but my place is only 650 SF so there’s really nowhere else to put it. This is the other wall:/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. And yes, they are too close together and too close to the wall. It’s all I’ve got. Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I know this isn’t a popular opinion around here but might it be that you were expecting a night and day difference, for the upgrade? I just think people under estimate the RC-62 and the RF-82. I’ve gone from a RC-62 ii to a RC-64 and there definitely wasn’t a night and day difference. Like has already mentioned, I would focus on room treatments like rugs, acoustic panels first. I would then invest in a pair of kick a*s subwoofers before I swapped out receivers. I’ve had good experience with Pioneer Elite receivers. I do agree that Audyssey beats out MCACC on the auto calibration settings but you have plenty of tweaking options in that Pioneer. People tend to parrot what others say on forums and sometimes that’s not always the best advice for YOU. With that said, RF-7’s are a step up from the RF-82’s, no arguments here, I just think it’s hard for audio gear to live up to what people have read online, in real world rooms, especially rooms with 18’ ceilings. Awesome system, BTW and welcome to the forum! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh yeah, that definitely sounds interesting. The more Daft Punk the merrier, IMO. I know their style isn’t for everyone, quite opposite really but their talents can’t be questioned. I’m just praying Disney makes a new Tron and they include Daft Punk! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What I Got Today!

I ended up grabbing the stand off Amazon for $100 delivered but the last time I checked, it was up to $117. A nice subscriber mentioned that the stand is usually cheaper if you order it directly from Monoprice and sure enough, looks like it was on sale for $89 but it was out of stock when I ordered it anyway so I’m happy. The $7 I spent on the Daft Punk album has been a pretty solid investment. I’ve been listening to that album along with The Cure Greatest Hits the past 3 days, almost on loop. TV time is definitely down:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What I Got Today!

Well, I didn’t get all of this today but all within the past week. This is my first ever 2-channel system. It’s not even close the best out there, but I am sitting here grinning ear to ear. With trading, driving long distances, negotiating, pleading and being nice, I was able to assemble this system on a pretty tight budget I also bought the first couple CD’s in like 20 years and the delivery guy knocked on my door, literally right when I was putting everything into place, otherwise I would have had to wait as I don’t have any CDs. Ever just have one of those days? I am truly a happy camper! Still some wire management left but that will need to wait:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Well, to say that I’m happy with how I spent my day would be a gross understatement! I’m going to post the photos over on “what I got today”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I messaged the guy, so we’ll have to see.. I also messaged the owner of the XDA-2 but he also hasn’t replied. You’re always so helpful Bill! I hope you and your family are well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That seems to be an amazing price, after looking into it. I had the 105 back in the day but I got rid of it true 4k Those prices are nuts. Looks like I should have kept it[emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well, I’m obviously impatient:) I ended up grabbing the Oppo BDP-93 for $200 I now need advice on the preamp. Here’s some visual candy, for your troubles:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. First, I’ve always been a HT guy through and through but curiosity ended getting the best of me a couple weeks ago. I posted this in the “what I got today” thread a couple weeks ago but when I tried hooking up the amplifier, it popped fuses and then smoke came out of the vents. Needless to say, I wasn’t a happy camper:/ I’ve decided to take the Linn pieces in to a local repair shop to have them all cleaned up and to have the amp serviced, if possible. In the meantime, I don’t want to wait 4 - 6 weeks without some tunes so I’d like to pick up a few affordable used pieces, to get me up and running until the Linn gear is ready to go. Here are the pieces I purchased to go with the Linn gear, before the amp fried and some pieces that I have lying around: - New Klipsch RP-600M bookshelf’s speakers. - Emotiva UPA-1 Monoblocks - Monolith 4 Tier Rack - Panamax M5100-PM I am just planning on using a CD player and possible streamer. Maybe a turntable down the road. Now for my noob, 2-channel equipment questions. Which of the following, used gear should I buy? Used Processor options: Emotiva USP-1 - $180 Emotiva UMC-200 Emotiva XDA-2 - $200 Used CD Player options: - Oppo BDP-93 - $300 - Emotiva ERC-2 - $300 - Oppo BDP-105 - $650 I would really appreciate someone holding my hand through these two purchases, so I end up with the best, budgeted results I can. The plan is to use this gear until the Linn stuff has been serviced. I would then likely be selling the processor and the CD player unless you all think I’d just be better off getting rid of the Linn gear and keeping the proposed used Oppo/Emotiva gear. I will also need setup advice, as again, I’ve strictly been focused on home theater the past 20 years. This little 2-channel system is going to be used to review pairs of tower and bookshelf speakers, in case that matters. Here’s some pics of the existing gear and the wall it’s all going to have to be jammed into: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What I Got Today!

I’m finally getting a chance to build a little 2 channel system, just waiting on a good AV rack. I know nothing about Linn but these popped up on FB Marketplace and I jumped with little research. How’d I do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
