  1. Sorry to hear. Wishing you and Ernie’s family all the best.
  2. After 8+ years working for a company/people that I love, it’s time for a career change. I am making about as much as the current company can pay me and truth be told, I’ve never been passionate about Real estate. Good at it, yes. Passionate about it, no. I have 20+ years of customer service/outside sales experience. I am currently the Business Development Manager for a successful real estate/property management firm. I have excellent references and a proven sales history. I also have a resume ready to share. Ideal role would be a territory sales manager/brand ambassador. Would be willing to move for the right position/company. I am currently living in the Seattle area. I would love to turn my home audio passion and sales experience into a career but I know those opportunities are few and far between so I am pretty open at this point. I wasn’t going to post this but I felt you fine people might be looking/know someone that might looking for a professional sales representative. It felt like a mistake, to not post this here, especially since many of you appear to be pretty successful and happy. Long shot, I know but you know the old saying, ”you’ll never get, what you don’t ask for.” I hope I make not violating and forum rules by posting this but I will remove if needed. Thank you all in advance!
  3. You would be totally fine with adding an XPA-3 into the mix. That beastly amp would relieve a good amount of stress off your Marantz. This would give the 3 most important speakers plenty of power to go as loud as you most likely ever want. The Outlaw would also be a great choice but I like the additional power the Emotiva offers and your a Marantz should have more than enough power to drive the remaining channels. I have owned a few Outlaw and Emotiva amplifiers over the years and they make very fine products. With that said, if I were amp shopping and had a bigger room, I’d probably get this amp, with your budget: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15593 Then you would have the Equivalent power/channels to an Emotiva XPA-5 for less money. The Monoprice products have been getting rave reviews lately and seem to be A $/Performance top pick.
  4. I’d rather run no center than use an inferior one. The center is the most important speaker when it comes to home theater and isn’t where you should be tying to cut corners. I am a huge advocate of Klipsch 6” speakers, I think they are some of the best $/performance ratio options. The answer above might not seem all that helpful but that doesn’t change the fact that it was the right answer. This coming from a guy that has owned just about every non Heritage Klipsch center ever made. Do right the first time, my friend. Cheers!
  5. I am now getting the calls that aren’t robocalls but the person on the other line, every time with a foreign accent, does everything possible to get you to say “yes”. Thankfully, a coworker told me there is a scam out there where they get you to say yes, then use the recording to make unauthorized purchases somehow. Here’s an article on the subject: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/ct-ahp-column-help-squad-tl-0322-story.html%3foutputType=amp I have had two of these scammers hang up on me, when they realized I was messing with them. Let’s put it this way, I used the words “possibly”, “not sure” and “maybe” more during these conversations than the English language normally allows. Are you Dustin? “Not sure”. Is this your cell phone? “Possibly”. Are you the primary person on this account? “Maybe”. They start to get pissed which starts to make me happy. I know keeping them on the line, keeps them from hitting what is undoubtedly a quota for the day😬 I am in sales and rely on my phone to buy speakers. I usually get a 2 - 4 robocalls a day. I usually let it go to voicemail as I am tired of Kate telling me that my business line of credit has been extended. I block the number when I try to call it back and it just hangs up. The only problem blocking the number is that I will need to do that 9,999,999,999 times, using the 10 digit phone numbers. Haha!
  6. Not much help with your question but I needed to comment and tell you that is an awesome looking room!
  7. Not to try and confuse things more but I’d like to throw the Klipsch KL-650-THX into the ring. Stand mount? Absolutely! I haven’t haven’t been fortunate enough to come across any RB-75’s but I have owned the RB-61’s, RB-5’s, RB-3’s, P-17’s and RP-600’s. Any and all of those speakers are fantastic sounding and I am sure you’d very happy with all their performance. There’s just something special about the Klipsch KL-650-THX, especially for movie watching. If I was more of a music person, I might have kept the Palladiums as they are not only beautiful but they also sound spectacular.
  8. I am currently using a Denon 3400 with my Ultra2’s and I am very pleased with the performance. I have owned quite a few pretty nice receivers over the years and these mid to upper end Denons are pretty hard to beat, especially at refurbished pricing.

    What I Got Today!

I added a couple new pieces to the display cabinet I have been working on. I finally have it to where I am pretty happy. I will be adding and subtracting items down the road but I am just smitten with it at the moment. I will be adding some black curtains to go behind the cabinet in the near future. Now I just wish I had another cabinet to fill[emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Its a start

Great looking room! I bet it sounds great!
  11. I just got my parents this one for Christmas: https://www.amazon.com/iRobot-Roomba-Robot-Vacuum-Self-Charging/dp/B07QNM7YDM/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?keywords=roomba&qid=1576035958&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNkVCSE42TjJLQjRCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODg2NDIzMkVXRTlKOVBVODlPVSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTcyNTQzMVMyUkFKSzhDNDlRNCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl I love my Roomba for my small space. Is it perfect? Nope. Does it do a great job at maintenance? Absolutely. When it comes to kicking up dirty air, that’s why I run two of these at all times: https://www.amazon.com/GermGuardian-AC5250PT-Purifier-Allergies-Guardian/dp/B00895ICIK/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=germ+guardian+air+purifier&qid=1576036329&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sprefix=germ+&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExUTRISDNET1lXVk5SJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjU3MDE1QjBKTEc0Q1VMMTdKJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA1MjQxNjIyOFg4NkY1NE1YS09RJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  12. How large is your room? Is there a reason you are only looking at a center with 4” woofers and only the 10” subwoofer? If at all possible, I would get dual 12” subs or even better, dual 15” subs if your room is larger. I would also go with a RP center with 5” woofers or again, even better, 6” drivers. The center and the sub/subs are areas where your money will have the most impact on performance, especially for movies and video games. If you provide room dimensions, I am sure the fine folks in this community would love to help you spend your money.
  13. Here is what appears to be a nice pair of 83’s in the Seattle area. I have dealt with the seller in the past and he’s a great guy. I would be concerned about the shipping though. I bought some cherry 63’s from NY a few years back and they got damaged in transit. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/d/lynnwood-klipsch/7031334558.html

    What I Got Today!

^^^ Nothing that cool! But I picked up some sweet little speakers. Grabbed these Mirage speakers at a local 2nd hand shop and matching stands for $60. I will likely paint the stands this summer as they aren’t in great shape but I am very happy with the purchase. I don’t have room for the Ultra2 650’s or 525’s that aren’t in use at the moment, due to the depth of both models. These Mirage speakers with the stands only stick out about 8” from the wall which works great for me and my room. I thought I was going to have to go Bose for a while.. I have owned some pretty cool surround speakers over the years but these might be my favorite. The sound is very spread out and what I would describe as accurate. Best $60 I have spent in quite some time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Depending on your location, I would go with this company to save some serious coin: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/2.html That page has quite a few refurbished units that will exceed your requirements at prices that you’d be hard pressed to beat. Some of these refurbished units come with additional warranty coverage, which is a nice bonus.
  16. I bet that BalanceForce sounds amazing in a room that size! 2 channel listening goals right there!
  17. Being in sales my whole life, I don’t think of any sale like “this is impossible”. Improbable? Yes. Impossible? No. Just because a mid-level guy like myself can’t afford it (wouldn’t buy it if I could) doesn’t mean some one out there with deeper pockets than I, wouldn’t/won’t. As the old saying goes “there’s an a*s for every seat”. With that all said, market dictates the price. With the ever expanding amount of digital information pouring into the web every second, consumers have more information at their fingertips every minute than all of human history the minute before it. Has anyone thought that a thread like this might not have is helping/helped the sale? When a potential consumer searches for this exact model, this thread is bound to pop up especially if it as rare as all of you knowledgeable folks say it is. And yes, some of you are audio dictionaries. Bravo! You could also look at this as trying save someone out there from overpaying for something deemed as “rare” or “historic” etc. I, like most still reading, like threads like this. Conversations like this make us more and more informed, along with everyone who ever clicks this thread for the years to come. Strange, isn’t it?
  18. OLED was a big step up, vs my LED TV. I was a little on the fence but I am very happy I pulled the trigger. With 8K making its debut, the 4K OLEDs are sure to come down some.
  19. Klipsch RP-600M - ~ $500/pr. Klipsch RP-504C - ~ $450 SVS SB12-NSD - $800/pr. (Sale) That is how I would spend the speaker budget, if I were in your shoes. One of the members here is also a Klipsch dealer and he might be able to beat those prices. I’d also snag something like this refurbished unit, to help stick close to your budget as possible: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/onktxrz830a/onkyo-tx-rz830-9.2-ch-x-120-watts-thx-a/v-receiver-new/1.html
  20. If I were in your shoes, I’d go with RP bookshelves, matching RP center and dual subwoofers to suck up all the speaker budget. Add the other speakers as your budget allows. You will have a wonderful sounding system and the most important speakers covered. Many of us made the mistake or trying to cram everything into into a “lower” budget and quickly get a case of “what if’s”. If you buy the best speakers you can afford to start, you probably won’t be second guessing yourself shorty after the purchase.
  21. That is some killer gear! Appears to be RF-83’s, RC-64, RS-52’s and the coveted RSW-15 subwoofer. All of those speakers will suite you well for many years if you are into home theater! I had cherry 63’s and 64 a few years back, awesome looking and sounding speakers. Like mentioned above, I’d be investing in a beefy receiver or processor/amplifier combo before I would even consider redoing the internals of those speakers. Or add another RSW-15 to even out the bass response.

    Uh Oh

I found a way where I can give back. Now I just need to borrow someone’s yard, for eternity:
