  1. We have your room size, now what's your budget?
  2. So you think the icon center is inferior to the RC-3? I know how important the center speaker is so now I am re thinking.. I would have no problem replacing the icon center with a WF-35 but I t could only go under my TV and I could really worry about the horn being located to one side of the TV.
  3. Hmmm. This thread really has me thinking... I have been waiting for the RF-63 and a RC-62 to pop up local to go buy but after visiting newegg, I can have the WF-35, WC-24 and 4 WS-24's for fight around $1,500 shipped.! They look allot more furniture quality than my RF-3's and RC-3. I really am thinking about pulling the trigger. A 7.1 Cabernet Klipsch Icon system might sound and look like the right setup for me.
  4. Up your budget a little and get a Rythmik FV15HP. I have owned many subs and this thing absolutely destroys all of them, including my SVS...
  5. I might try and snag some RF-63's and either a RC-62 or a RC-64. That is the plan anyway.
  6. Still wanting a RF-63/RC-64 combo.. As soon as a deal within 200mi pops up, I'll be all over it. Just need to find a good deal. This HT obsession never ends..
  7. Sorry I didn't put this in the subwoofer thread.. I was dead set on the SVS Ultra but after reading a couple reviews saying theat the Rythmik goes a little lower, ended up with the Rythmik. I am sure I would have been just as happy with the SVS but I am damn happy with my decision. Just ordered the new Total Recal, can't wait to try it out, I loved the first one. Thanks for the recommendation Derrick.
  8. Finally got the chance to try out the new Oppo and sub tonight.... THIS THING IS A SAVAGE!! Watching the new Batman, I had to jump up and remove two pieces of art because I thought the sub was going to knock them off my walls. My small 1000 SF house is shaking like crazy. Going from my old SVS cylinder (very good sub) to this sub has truly been an eye opening experience. My Harmony 1100 is sitting on the couch next to me (15 ft from the sub) and the light keeps turning on during heavy bass scenes. I am totally blown away! Thought I would share. Now back to the movie.
  9. The most simple way for you to add power would be so sell your current receiver and pick up one of Pioneer's Elite receivers. I had a Pioneer 1120 and replaced it with a Pioneer SC-35 with 140 watt I.C.E. amps and I can tell you that the difference was night and day. The regular Pioneer receivers are notorious for performing poorly on the bench tests with all channels driven (25 watts I think?). The Elite receivers on the other hand, perform very well. With all that said, I am still planning on adding an Emotiva XPA-5 or two XPA-3's down the road. There is no stopping the upgrade bug once it has bitten you...
  10. Great looking speakers. What are you replacing those beauties with? GLWS
  11. I was trying but it kept smashing my sentences together. Let me see if I can edit it.... Thanks BTW!
  12. Buyer responsible for shipping charges. This package is HEAVY, probably 50-60lbs. Also includes 7 rubber "isolator" feet These really add another dimension to movies that no subwoofer can reproduce. Thanks guys and I will only accept cash or PayPal. Time to treat yourself:) I would love to find a local buyer since I DON'T have any of the ButtKicker packaging. I paid over $900 + Tax for this setup and I am firm on price $500 for the entire set and I will not separate
  13. Put me in the line. I will send the money via PayPal as soon as you want it. What color is the display when it is working?
  14. I was just going to say sell your receiver and PS3 and buy a modern receiver but that Panasonic looks like a pretty cool little unit. In all honesty, I would still sell those two units and pick up a used pioneer or Onkyo with HDMI and 130+ WPC. Something that was selling around $1,500 and is only a couple of years old will have most od the bells and whistles and can be had around $500-700. Just some thing to think about, I am sure you know 10x more about audio than I do.
  15. I just got mine last week. I have only watched the blu ray Rocky I, Rocky II and Rocky III on it so far though. I will be watching the new Batman Blu ray tonight though, that should give me a better idea then the 70's/80's Rocky movies haha. I will report back with my impressions.
  16. I really love my rf-3's and have never felt a reason to replace them. After reading all of the great reviews of the rf-63's though, has me thinking. I wish I could listen to them before I purchase though..
  17. This is kind of what I wanted to hear. I am going to order the XPA-5. Speakers are next. I will be going with the RF-63 and RC-64 combo but they will have to wait a few months. The Rythmik, oppo and emotiva have taken their toll on my poor little checking account, haha
  18. How did you go in and manually adjust your subwoofer level with your SC-35? I set the crossover to 80hz and it set my sub at +8db. That doesn't seem right to me...
  19. Congrats! How's she sound?
  20. That is kind of what I was hoping to hear. I might add a XPA-3 to take some of the "stress" off of the receiver but I am really not sure if the $600 would be well spent.
  21. Need a little assistance from you more knowledgable people. Wanting to upgrade my Pioneer SC-35. I almost ordered a XPA-5 but decided to talk to you guys first. I am wondering if I should just buy a new shiny receiver with all the new bells and whistles instead? I would say my budget it is around $1,500. I kind of like the mid-level Marantz receivers but I just am not sure if they would be an upgrade or not. I know this topic has been beaten to death but after reading countless threads, I am still undecided... I don't want to just throw money away either. What are your thoughts?
