  1. Only picture I could see they are either KG2's or heresys.
  2. I like "the fake speaker in the back"
  3. Do those stream Spotify. Mine does. Edit: sorry it was sirius xm I was thinking about. Also has live365, flickr, and a huge "live archive" I've had fun going through from time to time. But you can get "add ons"
  4. I love my Duet ! The new iPeng 7 iPad/iPhone app works fantastic with it. I don't use spotify very much but it does work well. I have my Duet connected to Mac c28, Scott 340b and UMC-1. I saw yours in garage and thought about asking for the single one without remote as I already have one. But I just paid 7 dollars to upgrade and use my iPad in the bedroom wifi streaming. Only issue is it down samples FLAC to 320k mp3 through iPad.
  5. I used thsame set up on my C-28. Just look for a wall wart that has the amperage. BTW, I now use a spare Wii power supply on all mine since it has all the power I need and the leads are long. Here's the start of one build that control the AC-3 and SPK-1. I also have 12 vdc PC cooling fans that ran off of it to cool the amp tubes when they were in the rack. The Global Cache contact closures are controlled by my iPad. Thank you sir! I think I have a couple wall warts that will work then!
  6. Bingo, that what the specs say C/P SPK-1 Is Activated By 12Volt DC Signal (100mA Minimum) Thank you sir!
  7. Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I just bought the SPK-1 speaker switch to switch my speakers between My McIntosh c28 and Scott 340b. Obviously being vintage they both don't have a 12 volt trigger. My question is can I use that 12 v wall wart and strip ends to connect to Niles switch + and - controller strip and plug wall wart into back of McIntosh switched plug? Seems like easy question, but just want to make sure. Thanks

  9. +1 on the Musical paradise 301. I wish I kept mine. Fun little amp to tube roll to get the different sounds to your liking. I ran mine with heresy II's and sub to very good results in 23x14 room. I just picked up a refurbished H.H Scott 340b for under 400 that's impressive as well if you can find one. having to bring it back to spec will bring it over budget though.
  10. They look like the same ones posted on a scam ad on Kijjiji here in Toronto and surrounding area. Not for certain though.
  11. I think it's perfect for what I need switching my Quartets from Acurus HT amp to McIntosh m-250
  12. Owned both and A/B'd at same time. I agree with all the above comments. I forgot about the 2.5oz wieght trick for the bass. I have new Ti diaphragm in tweeters and crites Mid diaphragms with Crites crossovers and these babies are stellar now! All that rich highs of the heresy's with the bass and a mid horn that seems to blend both together well. definately play with positioning and placement from walls for the Q's. Mine are 8 inches but I pull them out a little more when in play for 2 channel. I love my quartets, but wish I had more space for Fortes, Chorus or cornwalls.
  13. Seems about right....here in Canada... http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-Klipsch-Hersy-II-Speakers-like-new-rare-pair-W0QQAdIdZ577282879 Sorry I didn't notice the ones I posted are the "rare" kind
  14. GLWS I just switched over from Harmony One to the Touch. It took a bit getting used to at first but love the Touch. The Harmony One is a fantastic remote and just "feels" right when using. I kept my Harmony One as a back up and use it in other rooms equipment. I think the Harmony One is the perfect remote to test if you've never used a universal remote. Very easy to set up and re configure to your needs.
  15. If Klipsch does not have it in stock there is an Ebay seller here in Toronto that has many parts for old Reference speakers. Post back here and I'll look for his name on there, at work right now. He's a good guy and reputable. I could even get him to send it to me and send down to you. He is on other side of city here. Good luck
  16. Love the feedback here as I just traded for a Scott 340B tube reciever. Looking forward to comparing it with my McIntosh c28 and the phono section.
  17. On my old Pioneer 9130 there was a surround mode called "all stereo" that worked well for sports as it had the game action prominent and the announcers over center channel, but diminished ambient crowd noise mixed into the rear channels were removed.
  18. +1 on the musical paradise MP301. I had the 1st version and was blown away at the quality build and full sound and surprisingly big soundstage. I used it with Heresy II's and Quartets to impressive SPL's from 6.5 watts with very little distortion. I regret selling it when I replaced it with my McIntosh m250. I just tried to buy the one scrappy posted locally but it fell through. Some good tube options as well for rolling.
  19. Try a program call Swissknife to partition big drives http://download.cnet.com/CompuApps-SwissKnife-V3/3000-2248_4-10070864.html
  20. Great to see my Home town represented well here. I used to go see Jeff Healey in mid 80's at a local sunday afternoon jam before anyone knew who he was, then saw him open up for SRV a few years later. Here's another Youtube vid from a great Toronto venue "Hughs room" with another 2 Toronto legends with Jack De Keyser, Paul James and Danny Marks. I'm going to see the Paul James band tomorrow night at a great Blues venue "The Old Dominion room"
