  1. Thanks, I tried the calculations and came up with 1.8-2K.
  2. Does anyone know the frequency for the stock crossover in a KG4? The Klipsch website does not list it. Thanks David
  3. I have built up too many tubes and am cleaning out the ones I don't use. I bought these from a tube dealer in December 2012, they have about 50 hours on them. They are the "big bottle" 6CA7EH. No problems they sound fine, I prefer different tubes in my Yaqin. Price $60 plus shipping, I am located in middle Tennessee. Thanks, David

  5. I have two of their Ultra 10 subs in my home theater and an ERC-1 cd player. I wouldn't part with them I live close to Emotiva headquarters and have been there quite a few times. They stand behind what they sell. Emofest is a blast too.
  6. I called in September and it was available, $300 + shipping per speaker kit if memory serves.
  7. That isn't a bad idea. Space is my main issue (WAF), I need something small. I could go for two small subs and put one behind each Herersy.
  8. I have been wanting to try a sub first as I may not like the result. I have two Emotiva subs in my HT, I would try one of those but they only have RCA and XLR inputs. My integrated tube amp only has speaker level outputs Can I attenuate the signal from the speaker level output so it would be compatible with the RCA inputs on the Emo sub?
  9. I have a pair of Heresy II that I have modified quite a bit and the bass is pretty darned good, just not really low. For those that have added a sub to a pair of Heresy's I have a question: What sub did you use and did it really make that much difference? Thanks David
  10. Does anyone know (or know where to get) the specs on the KP-28-E driver? I have one I was going to use to make a subwoofer and need the specs for calculations, Thanks David
  11. I know you want to avoid Chinese made but I have a Yaqin MS-20L and it is definitely worth the price. There is a guy in Canada that sells Yaqin products through ebay and covers the warranty, he also tests them before shipping. If I hadn't got that I would have built one.
  12. When I look through the past lists I wonder what/who voted?? ABBA and The Beastie Boys are in but not Deep Purple and Rush A lot of the "inductees" don't have squat to do with rock n roll I mean Bill Monroe was a great bluegrass/country musician but.....
  13. I have been looking for a tuner and found this locally on craigslist: Harman/Kardon PM655 Integrated Amplifier w/TU909 Tuner http://nashville.craigslist.org/ele/3183898349.html He won't sell them separately which means I will end up with an extra amp that I will likely sell. What do you guys think? Thanks David
  14. The three pairs of binding posts are required with the crossovers being external unless you want to hard wire them but I want to be able to remove them. It also makes it easier to keep the seal. I also want to be able to put them back to factory spec so i left the terminal cups/crossovers intact. The top pair go to the tweeter, middle to the squawker and the bottom to the bass. The respective wires go from the crossover to them. Keep in mind that I changed the crossover requirements by using K-28-E woofers that are 4 ohm rather than the 8 ohm k-24-k. Parts list: two Clarity cap ESA capacitors and one Madisound Sidewinder 16awg air core inductor in the tweeter circuit. one 3636 Bob Crites autoformer (painted black) and one Clarity cap ESA capacitor in the squawker circuit. one Madisound Sledgehammer steel laminate core inductor and one Solen FastCap capacitor in the bass circuit Mounted on 1/4" black acrylic with all connections on barrier strips to make changes fast and easy. By the way I am really diggin' the sound [] David
  15. The new terminal plate I made for the speakers
  16. Here is a link to the folder:http://s1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/cytovette/Audio%20Video/Heresy%20II%20crossovers/
  17. I decided to make these so I could experiment with components. http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/cytovette/Audio%20Video/Heresy%20II%20crossovers/th_P1010029.jpg http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/cytovette/Audio%20Video/Heresy%20II%20crossovers/th_P1010025.jpg http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/cytovette/Audio%20Video/Heresy%20II%20crossovers/th_P1010034.jpg I cannot seem to get links to work...
  18. I know this questions has been asked a million times but I must make it 1,000,001 [:$] I just acquired Heresy II Signature Editions and was thinking of upgrading with the Klipsch Heresy III kit after I listen to them for at least 6 months. Two questions to those that have done the upgrade: 1) Is it worth the $290 + shipping per kit? Judging by what they sound like now it would take a significant improvement to justify the coins. 2) Are the old parts sellable? If I can make part if the cost back selling the old parts it would help the justification. Thanks David
  19. Just finished putting my newly acquired Heresy IIs back together and the idea of hooking them in parallel with my KG4s came to mind. The impedance of both would be 3.43 ohms and my Yaqin tube amp has a 4 ohm tap. Has anyone tried something like this? Thanks David
  20. Thanks neo, the guy I got them from said he bought them in Okinawa while stationed there in 87 or 88, so that fits
  21. Well I took them apart to clean, seal and re-cap. So I put them back together the way they are supposed to be wired. I am going to replace the 25 year old caps before I fire them up again. Thanks for the schematic miketn [Y] BTW in what part of TN are you located?
  22. No just one, that's what is strange.
