there was pair of awesome looking KP 101 in Birch raw - did you see these -
-
I dont see why you are sorry - you are on the other side of Seattle - aint bad - and not very far for tons of deals
-
yeah it seems so. it's a fc253hz horn just like Greg's V-trac. I'm going to use BMS 4592ND-mid on it. the tweeter is Beyma CP-25. for the lower notes I'll use a LS-like folded horn I've been tweaking for months not. I would say it's also very similar to Greg's Vittora bassbins. I'm not a carpenter but I can build things with wood. veneer is something new in my area but I'm working on it and experiencing different glues and ways of applying veneer on the BB plywood. for now it's a horn I built with veneered BB. not bad but not the end of my endeavor. we have 1ton air press in store and I'll soon build a vacuum bag press, then I would go for other sizes of Egdar style horn and maybe biradials 6952932a5b9142c5d5a70a9211290add46d9cd2e82f8c8b908236d9fa8d44f03.jpg beautiful -

gfong, The original square magnet woofers you have now are better than the new K-33E round magnet ones. Personally I would have the one you have fixed if possible by a competent professional or recone both. Bob Crites replacement woofer was designed around the K-33E square magnet woofer from my memory. I've owned multiple pairs of Klipschorns and LaScalas at the same time. My brother in law lives about 5 miles from me and owns Klipschorns as well. I took a LaScala over to his house and we personally switched out and A/Bd the K-33E round magnet woofer, the K-33E square magnet woofer, a Crites steel frame woofer, a K-43E steel framed woofer, a K-43E Cast frame woofer, a K-44E cast frame woofer, and an Electro Voice EV 15W-K woofer. The K-33E in square and round were used of course in Klipschorn, LaScala, etc., K-43s were used in Pro LaScala, and MWMs, the K-44E was used in Pro Klipschorns = TSCM, and the Electro Voice EV 15W-K was used in early Klipschorns (the "K" denotes Klipsch) The Electro Voice EV 15W-K sounded the best to both of us, and I am going to be selling a pair of these that have been fully restored shortly, but you are talking several times the money of the Crites cast frame woofers. PM me for pictures and a price, but I wont be able to reply until Friday. I know a reconer in Ft. Wayne, Indianna that is the only guy authorized by Electro Voice to recone their obsolete speakers that's work cannot be compared to anyone elses and he could fix or recone your speaker or speakers correctly. His name is Tom and his phone number is 260-494-1677 Roger hi - Roger - can you send us a picture of this EV 15W-K - is this a 4 ohms speaker - or 8 ohms - just curiouds to see this beast - I always fancied EV products - they absolutely sound great versus the Eminence - by the way - Klipsch is making woofers , that was shown in the Hope Gathering this year - as well as new mids for the SCALA - I am curious if KLIPSCH will have a replacement in house made K33 - -

I would buy a single square or round magnet k33E - the K33 threads are here https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/148475-k-33-e-vs-k-33-b-specs-anybody-have-factory-measured-ts-data/page-2 -
I would think that (4) four 15 inch subs are required in the room - so adding two (2) 15 inch subs in the front of the room would be needed as a minimum if not (2 )18 inch subs -

I am confused - CHORUS 1 is rated at 100 watts - you are suggesting 3x or 6x the rating - how can the speaker hold up with 3x or 6x the rating - aren't you going to blow components http://www.klipsch.com/chorus-floorstanding-speaker/details

Need a dead quiet amp for my khorns now....

Nikko was very low end gear in the mid to late seventies - - -
I forgot to ask - how big are the woofers in the console -
-
A kp101 would be a cheaper alternative and sufficient for the console - you would need a pair -

Vintage Tube Amp Restoration Walk Through
OO1 replied to AEA Audio's topic in Technical/Restorations
unreal - my other question is how long does it take for the tarnish and corrosion to come back and does it come back quicker -
Tim - Sancho has 5 Heresies at ear level - I also use mine at ear level , which is where your Heresies will just shine -no risers required , although I would love to sample Heresies with a slanted riser - -I put my Heresies on top of my Cornwalls one day and they have been there ever since -would I have stands made , they would be 36 inches tall and capable of holding a 50 lbs Heresy - -the picture you see here is the perfect height , by coincidence - PWK had designed the Heresy with identical drivers than a Khorn to be a center speaker for Khorns -

there was a similar pair for sale right here on the forum https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/147821-la-scala-ii-prototypes-for-sale/
-
good luck with the sale and yes . the floor is awesome
-
Ideas for protecting my Heresy woofers from my granddaughters please
OO1 replied to teknoid's topic in Technical/Restorations
I have kids playing around my Cornwalls and Heresies all the time - so far no problem , they are just not appealing to kids - IMHO - always leave the grilles on - -
the Quadra cut 4 cutter design bits are the best out there -
-
Freud Tools are watch this to compare Freud tools with cheaper bits http://www.freudtools.com/index.php/video
-
Peter - save yourself a lot of trouble - find a pair of beatup scalas and just do a restore job -they pop up pretty often- they are awesome cabs -the first generatiom Scalas were made like tanks -
-
I second Jason in the fact that the Dayton is the better built and conservatively rated at 250 Watts - Bass Boost is defeatable which is the added feature
-
Tim - just for your info -I use 2 pairs of Cornwalls with 2 pairs of Heresies on Top of the Cornwall cabs -so yes , , the higher , the better as they bring out the details -
-
does John Allen work with Klpsch -now that Klipsch has driver and Woofer manufacturing capabilities -
-
1 inch panels all around the bass bin - including the bottom doghouse access door - it looks like this Scala can take more power as well -if not 200 watts - -that will be good to upgrade all the older Scalas -the K55X outsourced from Atlas Sound is Alnico whereas the new one is Ferrite by the look of the magnet as well as a complete billett assembly - the diaphragm should be 2 inches as well by the looks of the driver -
-
great - bring out the shovels -
