  1. This is the NDX and this is a Exhaustion pattern typical after a long advance. Are all markets at a turning point? YMMV
  2. I 'm the first to admit that the Trend is Up and has been since the 574 Dow low in 1974....All I'm saying is we are at a turning point in the Stock market. The Stock Market is just a gauge of Human psychology. But it is constantly being manipulated by the Central Bank. The Majority of America fails to understand that our economic system is a "credit based" system and interest rates are the measure of the demand for credit. The Central Bank since 1987 has manipulated interest rates to enable vast expansion of debt. This expansion has been multiplied in every high and low cycle causing greater "Bubbles". The Debt is beyond serviceable both public and private. Now we move to a transition of crony capitalism to Socialism...this transition will cause the credit markets to react I believe to essentially make the Fed powerless. That has not happened since Paul Volcker was Chairman and interest rates were at 22 percent. I believe we are right now at a Historic turning point...maybe even today.
  3. Ok Here is the chart of the UST ZB_F 1week chart....you'll notice the bond made a 3 wave into the top....is it a "B" wave? Zero percent interest rates are a Fed manipulated anomaly. Going back 5,000 years interest rates have never been at Zero. Even in the Great Depression you had 2 pct rates. Now how much debt and leverage do you have in the WW system? a quadtrillion? At some point some of that will have to be liquidated ...maybe 50 to 75 trillion. Rates should rise as both lender and borrower will become suspect and borrowers will pay a higher rate to avoid insolvency. So we have a possible top in the U.S. Treasury Bond as I count the pattern as nested 1,2's with latest counter rally wave 2 ending last week. If so the Bond should begin to collapse at some point. A possible thrust down through the neckline and then a retest of the NL and then a crash in wave 3 of 3 which is the strongest wave. The Black Swan in all of this is China which owns a large position in UST. Of course if this does play out as I expect the USD would go to a new high. We will see....
  4. Just was wondering about the Jubes. I have a pair of KH's ....thanks
  5. Gold Hope I'm wrong but all these markets have B wave tops B Waves are phonies with no real substance typically the last hurrah in manias That's it for me....I have a 300 year chart of the Dow that if it comes true would scare the crap out of anybody. I'll keep that to myself.... Gold will have another bull market probably starting around 2023....SDR IMF reset?
  6. A look at Japans Grand Supercycle B top 1990 to 2021? With cycle C wave to begin? The break in Silver and gold today is not a good sign.....too much debt and leverage in the world.
  7. A little McIntosh C20 porn....my vision of a beautiful C20....
  8. A cycle low is due in 2022,2023,and 2024 which is a 40 year cycle. The months of August,September,October are typically cycle high . . . . [Deleated the political]
  9. Low and behold I didn't notice that the tech did read all of my instructions and replaced the 6x4 tube rectifier with a solid state rectifier. What difference can I expect to hear. There was a reason he upgraded the power supply.
  10. Here are some photos of the finished C20. Came out pretty nice for 60 years old. But how does it sound? I have to wait a little while for my Accuphase P300 to return.
  11. The noise you talk of is non existent in my area on all the main stations in my area Reno,Nevada. I only use Terk antennas one w ith a booster and one without. I doubt the problem is with the station or their transmitter. I mainly now use a Accuphase T-106 digital lock tuner and it not only sounds great ,but the tuning system is a joy to use. I just tune it to 89.5 and it is at peak signal. I still use FM because of live broadcasts or recorded live events. Lot's of great content not available anywhere e lse. I also buy about 10 cds a month just finding new music..Jazz and Classical. I do stream but only on my phone....I enjoy it but I prefer FM.
  12. I was addressing your first post....not talking about vintage vs modern. It sounds like you have everything in good order....enjoy.
  13. Certainly worth having thought it's mono.....
  14. Lot's of Classical recordings are mic'd minimally so a lot depends on the venue and the Composer. For dynamics you might try these...just off the top of my head. Aaron Copland Nielsen Sibelius Ravel Stravinsky Shostakovitch Mussorgsky Gershwin Wagner Mahler Vivaldi Rimsky Korsakov You can't go wrong with labels like DG,London,EMI,Decca,RCA,Columbia,Phillips,Erato And of course the Conductors Bernstein Karajan Ozawa Ormandy Solti Dudamel Boulez and many other great ones
  15. Have you listened to some RCA Living Stereo Recordings? Try this one....
  16. My C20 will be paired with a PS modded and upgraded Accuphase P300 which is a great SS amplifier....when I upgrade them. I will be interested if a synergy will exist and if the tube rectified C20 will deliver some punch in the bass. One can hope....overall the pairing should deliver some magic. I have tube amps but I'm going to try the Accuphase first.
  17. You have connections for 4 speakers....why not. If it is a active sub use the output L&R
  18. I saw this at the show....darn I like this movie. Looks like a Gates console....maybe Collins...neat stuff. Was the movie shot on Highway 50 in Nevada...no speed limits before the mid 1970's.....Vintage America.....FM live! oops shot in Utah
  19. Hi , Here is the list of changed parts, all of the capacitors, all the electrolytics, including the power supply which was upgraded to about double the uf. All original spec'd low noise resistors and others upgraded to 1 pct 1 watt and all caps were 1 pct also. Some in spec carbon resistors were left in place. The best published specs after a recap I could find on the web was a unit done by Terry Dewick a master McIntosh tech. The unit Terry recapped which he called "virgin" was 0.02 THD Am I happy with .05/.06 absolutely because mine was electronically far from virgin. Also the new caps should have a very positive effect on the sound...though still having the "Mac" signature. I'm glad I had it done. It will last me the rest of my lifetime.
  20. In my instructions for the rebuild I mentioned that, but it was never addressed by the tech I'm alright with the 6x4 as the C20 doesn't sound like the C22 . I didn't want to make a change away from original.anyway At some point ill.probably pick up a C22 and then ill.see which one I prefer.
  21. Everything I specified and provided was 1 pct and I used all caps that give a mix of detail, warmth, transparency and no harshness or edge to the music. The preamp should despite the tube rectifier should sound better than new.
  22. No....from the Ebay seller direct to the largest and most respected Mac dealer in the world. The preamp is 60 years old...I voice all my vintage RTR's,Accuphase, and the rest. It's just how I roll.
