  1. I have the same problem with my Promedia 4.1. Plugged it out, plugged it back in and nothing. But what I notice on mine is if I wait for 3-4 days, and then plug it in again, it would magically turn on again! I tried checking the inner circuit, the resistors and capacitors on the board do not have any charring/blemish. Fuse is also fine. Does any electrical engineer in this forum know why this is happening? Let's say if a resistor did blew, is it possible for it to "heal" itself after a certain period of time?! Or maybe this has something to do w/ transformer discharging leftover magnetism? (sorry, just thinking out loud, I deal w/ software, not hardware ) Thanks in advanced!
  2. How can i get a LiveWare!? I am new in soundcard stuff. I installed everything that came from the CD. So far, audio HQ offers nothing to me for listening music, playing FPS games and watching DVD. Is there anything better I should do? Anything I should download. I've checked those parameter EQ. I have a Promedia 4.1 and I don't think there's any problem with the sound quality. BUT, I do want to know what an almost $50 SB Live! Card could do other than having another plug-hole for rear speaker. William K Today is the first day of the rest of your life. ---American Beauty
  3. Del, you don't have to worry about anything. I bought mine on eBay for $230 ($250 include shipping) and it's brown box. It works flawless, no heat problem whatsoever. If you are buying it retail, then you have a guarantee privilege, use that. Don't care much about the box, it's the speakers you're listening too, not the carton box. 5. Yes, I know some people think that it would be a problem. But from what I think, if you're living in CA, you should be getting a really fast shipping. I live in Los Angeles (the headquarter is in San Jose). Always get mine not more than 2 days. Once when I sent it back, took only a day and they got it. Hmm, wander how long does it take for people in New York or Maine?! Anyway, just trying to fill up my summer. Still, it's a better deal than the $30 for 30 days 30 rent that Blockbuster offer (it's limited to one DVD perday!).
  6. I posted this on the DVD section, but I know nobody is gonna read it there so I posted again here. Sorry for moderators. Ok, if you are one of the DVD fans who like to rent DVD every weekend on BlockBuster or Hollywood, you gotta try NetFlix!!! I saw its advertisement on a magazine. It's a website where you can rent as many DVD as you like for one flat fee: $19.95 /month. No late fees, no due dates, free shipping (prepaid envelope) via first-class mail! Got my first three in 2 days! Ok, before I start to sound like a salesman, you can check the detail right on the website: www.netflix.com And forgive me if I am the one who is way behind about this. But this offer could save me quite some bucks! For those who want to sign up, you probably notice the sign "Tell a friend to try NetFlix free" Well, I spent almost 2 weeks just to find somebody who would give me the code to refer them so I could get the free 2 weeks ($10 off) So I wanna make it easier for you guys, the link below will take you to the free trial: http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=27276611&siteid=38714895&bfpage=homepage Umm, for all moderators, I am not trying to advertise something here (in fact I don't have any relation with the company). I just thought that this is a very good offer and I wanna share it. Hope it helps!
