  1. Well'p I've been convinced. My final question would be do the XPA-3's go on any sort of sales? I was reading a thread earlier today and they were talking about how they got one for $450 plus $25 s&h? Does this happen often or was it a one time thing? Anyone know?
  2. That's kinda what I was thinking. I've never owned one so I guess my last questions would be that it wouldn't blow my 52's and its going to be a while 1+ yrs b4 I will be able to upgrade my speakers. So the amp won't loose power will it?
  3. I was trying to avoid that. I just got these a few weeks ago and really don't want to upgrade my speakers until I can afford 63's or 7's. And I was thinking if I get the amp now Alls is have to do is swap the speakers later since all the wire and everything are already run. My question is would it be worth getting the amp now? Or Jus wait on it since I wouldn't see much of a difference with the 52's I have.
  4. I have my two rf-52's and the matching rc-52, hooked up to a Onkyo HT-RC180. Would there be an advantage to adding a XPA-3 for these front 3? Or are my speakers to little for this?
  5. I've got the Klipsch rf-52ii's as my fronts with the 100 inch screen. There is a few ft bt my speakers and the walls up front. And as for the back there is about 4 or 5 ft of room bt the back of the couch and wall. It is not a special theater room, it is just the basement part of a tri level home, (a few stairs with an opening down into the room). The room size is about 14X19 wxl. the seats are around 15ft back and centered. The rs 4/5/62's would be my first choice but while bargining with the lady I gave those up for in-wall in order to get the towers up front lol.
  6. Just to let ya all know what I did... I had them orginally at 6 ohms, then switched them over to 4. I honestly could not tell a difference bt either at any volume level or any mode (dolby, stereo, ect). So apparently it isn't to big a deal? I just hope nothing is going on on the inside that is messing up my speakers. Anyways they are currently on 4 ohms. I'll give it a little and switch is back to 6 to se if I can hear a difference after extended use. Thanks for the posts.
  7. I am looking to get a couple pairs of in-wall speakers and am of course wanting some good ones. I was just wondering if anyone has any or has ever heard any that are any good. I want quality speaker, but the cheaper the price the better. They will be my surronds and either my front wide/front high/ or rear surrounds. Any suggestions on which of those 3 would be helpful as well. They will be used for mainly home theater. Thanks for your help.
  8. I currently have my two rf-52ii's bi-amped and set to 6 ohms. I figured 6 was closer to 8 than 4. I am getting mixed reviews here tho. Some say 4, some say 6 (I also have this question posted under technical questions about ohms solely). What to do what to do...
  9. I just recieved and hooked up my Onkyo HT-RC180 and when I hooked up my front L/R mains the only options for the ohms is 4 and 6. I don't know if this is a problem or what, on the klipsch website it says that my rf-52ii's are 8 ohms. If I am running 6 ohms on my reciever is that ok? Let me know because I do not what to ruin anything. Thanks.
  10. Also when I was in the speaker set up for my front L/R (which are bi-amped) it will only let me choose bt 4 and 6 ohms. I thought they were suppose to be 8? Is this a problem? And if the speakers are set to normal instead of bi-amp the only options are still 4 and 6. Please let me know because I do not wht to mess up my speakers.
  11. I finally got my HT-RC180 from Fed-Ex today and am hooking it up. I did the mic and other than thatI'm no to sure what else to do. Is there anything special I should turn on or off on it? I know I wll adjust the speakers and sub to my preference from what the mic put them at. But I saw a thing about a THX sub or something, and I'm sure there is more in here I dunno about. Anyways any suggestion would be great. Thanks.
  12. I can get it for $350. Then sell this 607 for prolly like $250. Its new with full warrenty from an authorized dealer.
  13. An Onkyo is a brand and my set-up is at the bottom of my posts...
  14. I have to Onkyo tx-sr607 and am looking to upgrade tp the Onkyo ht-rc180. Will this be a good upgrade given my set up?
  15. As stated in my sig I have the Onkyo tx-sr607, would the Onkyo HT-RC180 be an upgrade worth making? Or is my 607 GNE?
  16. And i havn't calibrated them either, I am waiting for tomorrow when the center comes in to run my mic thing that came with my reciever. So there is just one more thing that I believe will make it sound better.
  17. Sorry I just finally hooked them up last night. I ended up doing the bi-amp, i havnt tried them just regular yet, but I must say I think they sould amazing. When I first turned them on I thought my sub was kicked on, but it wasn't. I had turned everything off and disconnected it to get to the back of the reciever. I was going back and forth between the 52's and 62's but ended up with the 52's since the store I got them from gave me what I considered to be a great deal plus they didn't have any 62's in. Anyways with the way they sound I don't see myself messing with them until I get the itch to expand to the 5.2 or 7.1, for now they are blowing me away. The only thing I need now now is for my center to arrive. They thought they had one in the back but didn't so they lent me the RC-10 I think, it was the match to the RF-10's they had in there small room. It is head over heals better than the Synergy C-1 I had so I'm hoping the RC-52 ii is just another jump up.
  18. Yea, i just loked at the picture and it didnt have the blue around the edges, apparently it helps to read... who knew?
  19. I was actually looking into the blue man group, however they do not have one on blu ray, atleast not on amazon. is the dvd version any good? I had seen them once on a school trip in Canada and wasn't expecting much but was actually impressed.
  20. I just looked over the link above, now my question is how do you know if it is active or passive bi-ampping? Again I have an Onkyo tx-sr607 with a bi-amp feature using the back surrounds and main L/R.
  21. i have the following on another post, no responses however. Just seeing if anyone has any input on here since I've got a little activity going. I have an Onkyo tx-sr607 and ust purchased two rf-52ii's. On my reciever it says that you can use the main L/R and the back surround L/R to do a bi-amp for your mains, then you go into to set-up menu and switch the speakers to bi-amp. Anyways I have read several places that bi-amp doesn't do amything. So I was just wondering if anyone was familiar with this reciever or something that was set up like it, and if doing the bi-amp is beneficial. Also if you use the bi-amp you can only have 5.1, no 7.1 which for me at the moment is okay but I am looking into two more surrounds, unless the bi-amp makes a big enough difference then I'm just fine with a 5.1 and would prolly add another sub for a 5.2. AKA getting another sub instead of the 2 more surrounds. Let me know what you all think and thanks. Let me knw what you think. If you've ever bi-amped or now about it.
  22. Just picked up Inception, have been wanting to see it anyways so I'm glad you posted it. I have a microphone set-up thing that came with my reciever, is that good enough or are the setup discs still necessary?
  23. I have an Onkyo tx-sr607 and ust purchased two rf-52ii's. 24. I've got my sub turned only half way up on the gain knob on the sub and at -10 out of +15 on myt reciever. I wanted to break it in befor i really tested it out. Also I listen to pretty much anything so if you have a suggestion on a concert bluray that really blows yo away let me know and I'll download a song or two and see if I like. I'm alwasy looking for new artists anyway.
  25. I have the set up listed in my signature (This is my first post so I'm hoping it comes up on the bottom like everyone else's). I have yet to watch a movie with my new speakers and sub, I had the synergy C-1 and B-20's with the Acoustic Research HD510 10" sub until yesterday. Anyways my question is what should I watch first? I do not have many blu-rays so am due to buy between 3 and 5 depending on price right now. I am just looking for opinions on what to spend my money on so not to waste it. I am looking to work out the sub as well as the mains, surrounds have been heard but always a plus. So please any sugestions would be appriecated.
