  1. I have a pair of '79 Cornwall's, just checked, HDBRbuilder made um back in the day! Thanks dude, these things have been with me since 1986 and in use daily, definitely had an impact on my life!
  2. My thrift shop has a nice looking (well preserved) 3-way University Acustic Baton speaker for $75. I've been searching the web and really come up short for info on these things! The speaker is maybe 19 inches wide by 26 tall with a tweeter in the upper left, woofer in the mid right side and the squaker in the lower left corner. The rear panel has two control knobs "Brilliance" and "Presence". Lettering is all art-deco style making me think '40s or 50'sThe shape of the cabinet is like a mini K-Horn. Anyone have knowledge of this puppy? Sorry no pics yet...
  3. $2000 sounds kinda steep for a thrift shop, I bought my last set of Heresy's for $30 from Goodwill!
  4. Congrats on the Cornwalls! I've had mine since the mid 80's, and they still rock! And yes your Mom will have issues with them, specially if you run them on a 100W RMS amp like I did. These days the Wife gets crazy when I crank um up... The more things change, the more they stay the same...
  5. I think I'm going to go eat some lead paint chips...
  6. Silly stuff... See PWK's findings on Speaker Wire in the Dope From Hope Vol 17, No. 1, March, 1978. For the record, I am running 14ga zip cord, always have.
  7. I agree. Since my K-22-E woofer is 16 Ohm, I think the switch to the Type E crossover network would cause more headaches than it's worth. I am considering just replacing the existing 38 year old caps caps with new caps of the same value to freshen up the crossovers.
  8. Hi All, newb here... I have a pair of '73 Heresy's and they too have the Type C crossovers w/K-22-E Woofers. I'm considering this upgrade as well and would really like to see this thread answered. It's funny, I have searched and searched and have not been able to come up with a schematic for the Type C crossover; I guess I'm going to have to make one... BTW, I A/B'd the Heresy's against my '79 Cornwall's and there is no comparison between the two; the CW's have a much fuller sound to the point where it sounds like the H's are not working correctly... I'd love to test those caps in the H's with an LCR meeter.
