  1. Now the back...Danley tucked behind the couch surrounded by Heresy's, just on cheapo end tables at the moment...next house will have them wall-mounted in a MUCH deeper room (with 4 walls []). The most I'll do to this room is hang some thick curtains. The Audyssey has actually tamed the Danley (and the room) pretty well, far better than I anticipated, but can hear where it can be improved. Anyway, we watched Tron on blu-ray last night and it was AWESOME. Bass was STRONG but not nearly overpowering. It was a great integration! Deep, clean, tight. Still, would like to watch on that projector, but with me leaving in 2 weeks and moving when I get back, not worth putting it up.
  2. After finally getting the front all set up...front sound stage...AWESOME. This is the view from my listening position...not nearly far enough away but working with what I've got. Room is far from ideal, and I'm not making major mods to a house I don't own. That's the roomie's TV, not hanging my projector and screen in this house...plus I'm in it more for music anyway so not an issue to me. Haha, look at how small the speakers make the 46in TV look! That's the new Cherry LS2 bass bin on the center, making my JubScala. Can you spot the ding on the right Jube? [:'(]
  3. Then the horn...roommate who accepted shipment already opened the damaged box to inspect for obvious damage, the 402 was fine...and sounds awesome.
  4. Anyway...onto the unveiling!! [] I started with the other Jube box first (w/o the hole in it). I was afraid to open the damaged one [] BEAUTIFUL!!
  5. And even more scary...more on this one later...[]
  6. Close inspection of the boxes aroused some suspicion...
  7. Alright, first let me start off by saying that this will definitely be a living thread updated over the next year...expect a final (and much more polished) product after a move to a more permanent residence later in 2012 after I return from next deployment, at which point I will have a MUCH more suitable room. BUT...in the meantime, here is what I've done with what I've got. First, what I came home too...
  8. So from amplifier/receiver output to DX38 to speaker? Mine are 2-way, and I'm bi-amping them (one amp for horns, one for bass bins). Configuration goes from pre-amp (which all sources connect to), to Dx38, to the power amps, to speaker. The 38 does everything, sets the filters, crossovers, amp power, EQing etc. It's awesome. The alternative, the Crown Xti-1000s, do the amping, crossovers, EQing all in one convenient package (and less expensive). The advantage to the Dx38 is that you get to use whatever amps you please. I've never heard the XTi-1000s, but am extremely pleased with my 38. I'm sure you'll be pleased with whatever path you choose to pursue.
  9. Negative, I'm out the door again in 3 weeks. THAT...should be my final one, but if it's not that's okay too! Got the jubes in last week, tweaking/altering room now. pics and posts to flood the forum soon. Turbox, I've heard the new 2011 khorns w/ the LS2 center in my room (had to make sure they worked before haulin 'em to Texas)...I now have jubes in ther place of the khorns, and converted the lascala 2 to a jubscala with heresy's rockin the surrounds/rears. The heritage line is absolutely wonderful...but I haven't thought twice about the switch even once. Come over to the dark side!!! Dan
  10. I was wondering when you'd chime in Bill! To the OP, it's okay, he converted me too...haven't regretted it for a second.
  11. A living room full of Klipschmas Cheer! Assembly to begin tomorrow
  12. Excellent! Will do. I'm there a couple times each year, but next deployment is already in the queue so I'll let ya know. Sometime in the second half of 2012
  13. BTW, Congrats on the Golden Jubs W.C. That listing appeared literally about a week after I'd pulled the trigger on the factory model, otherwise I'd be willing to bet those would be in CA at the moment. All the extras really made that deal inticing! Congrats again. My brother lives in the Charlotte area and I visit occasionally. May have to come knocking someday [] Dan
  14. Thanks all for the inputs, I read the original thread in the DIY Jubilee and completely missed that attachment. Found the JubScala one as well so I'm all set there. Coytee, you have a PM regarding the computer files. I'm still going to prgoram these manually but would like to have them as backup. Thanks guys. Dan
  15. Hi Wrinkles, Currently 402/K69 combo on all 3. I ordered TADs but it will be 6 mo before they ever get attached. Wait time is long and I'll be gone when they arrive anyway so for the purpose of this post (at this time anyway) it's all 402/K69 Dan
  16. Hello all, I will be returning to CA from the holidays very shortly to assemble my system, armed w/ my newly acquired EV DX38s. Any Jub owners out there have the files/settings/program/GUIDANCE I need to program these for bi-amping. Blind to the process at this point, and now that I'm coming out of a food-coma from mother's holiday baking, time to get my head back in the game. [] Amp set-up in profile...Also, anyone have the settings for a JubScala center? As always, ANY help is greatly appreciated. THANKS y'all! Dan
  17. If that happens I'm relieving you of your turntable []
  18. To be fair, those two are also WAY up there regarding my obsessions...[]
  19. I've heard both. LaScala hands down...BUT, Mustang brings up a great point. The polks are more suited to compare to the reference line. I, for one, LOVE horns, so I was biased WAY before listening to the polks. I also prefer the sound of my KLF-30s to the polks FWIW...but the polks may truly sound better to the seller, but to say the blow away a LaScala is bold. I'm with Mustang. A/B 'em, and if they sound good they ARE good []
  20. More like "when" it will ever turn out. I had my eye on that forever, but broke down for the marantz av7005 because I just couldn't wait any longer. It's experienced setback after setback, particularly w/ their latest Audyssey implementation. This isn't to bash Outlaw though (trust me I love 'em), they're taking their time and getting it right the first time, which I completely respect. And I've compared the 7500 to the Levinson No433 I'm currently running. The Levinson is better, but the difference is nowhere NEAR worth the difference in price. If anything, I was more impressed w/ the Outlaw that day for the price/performance ratio. Awfully musical amps and best bang for the buck IMO. I just couldn't wait any longer for a pre/pro and have been happy with the Marantz FWIW. To the OP, congrats on the 7125 I'm sure you'll love it!
  21. All interconnects and final components arrive at doorstep today, and here I am thinking I've FINALLY gotten everything to setup my system when I get home when my dad asks "what rack are you putting these on?" D%#^it [^o)], completely forgot about that! Components in the signature. Lot of crown amplifiers, a VERY heavy Levinson, some active xovers, pre/pro, etc... Thinking about building my own. Still curious, anybody have any racks they would recommend commercially? Not above the good ol' CL for this. CL Los Angeles has pretty much anything. Just curious as to thoughts on this.
