  1. I replaced by Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 that I used for HT. Since my main device is a htpc, worked quite well. The RF7II's are definitely a nice upgrade
  2. I have the xpa-5 with the denon avr-4311ci. I do hear a hiss, but need to be close to the speaker to hear it. Its not audible when played loudly. On the xpa-5 you can select balanced vs unbalanced. The hiss stops when switched to balanced. But I am not sure if thats because XLR is not connected.
  3. Just as 125 watts could be an overstatement, could 30 watts per channel with all channels driven also be an understatement? Do you have a Benchmark results for the Denon AVR-3312? EDIT: I also agree that the AVR-3312ci doesn't beefy enough to handle an RF-7 based HT, given it isn't rated to handle speakers with low impedance dips. 30 was an estimate based on other 100-140 watt receiver bench tests and not specific to Denon. It could very well be double that. Either way, the point remains the same. Thanks guys. I have an xpa-5 on the way now Yay!
  4. I Purchased from ASD too. They are awesome. What receiver are you using in your setup?
  5. I tried this today and wow, I think I prefer this over mounting it on the side walls. Thank you for the suggestion!
  6. I have been really enjoying the RF-7II's. In stereo they are amazing. I demo'd them against DT ST's, GoldenEar Tritons's, Klipsch RF-82II, and Adam Pencils. These speakers really sound fantastic when listening to high quality music. Listening to lossless music really brings out the "crispness" of the sound. In surround config, I think my receiver is lacking the power to run all 7 speakers wells. When things get loud, it seems like the center channel just seem to be losing power or something. It dips in volume and then comes back up again. The Denon Avr-3312 is supposed to have 7 channel 125 watt power, so I am not sure whats happening. My local dealer is awaiting his shipment of Denon Avr-4311 to come in and will allow me to upgrade to it. Hopefully it will work better. I also want to say thank you to Mike @ acousticsounddesign I got a great price on the whole set and unlike many online retailers, he answered all my email questions within 30 minutes. I was throughly impressed.
  7. Our side surrounds are 8ft from LP and 2ft behind us. I dont think the distance from LP of the sides or rears are a huge issue as long as you have a DB Meter or AVR that can adjust the levels correctly. Are you running all your speakers at the default levels?
  8. About 10 feet behind LP. I use Denon's Audyssey MultEQ XT to set up everything. Seems to be working pretty good for my room.
  9. With the RB-81II being 19 inches tall, 29" or 30" would put it as the same height as the RF-7II's. Im hoping that is high enough for rears.
  10. What speaker stands are those? I am looking for somethign for the RB-81II. But at almost 30lbs, most stands dont seem to be up to the task.
  11. The 8100 was my daily watcher until I purchased the Panasonic 65VT30. The average I was getting per bulb was around 1200 hours. The 8100 bulb issue led Epson to honor bulbs for the full 2 years of the warranty vs the normal 90 days.
  12. I have gone through 5 bulb replacements unfortunately with my epson8100. Each time the customer service wow'd me.
