Get the ekg for the procedure? Tried Saturday, a guy there at the small rural hospital got mad and wanted to know who sent me to get it done on a weekend.

    Ay yai yai!

After our trip to the Philippines last summer, we were in communication with one of my wife's brothers, who we had spent a bunch of time with while there. He started having a medical issue and went to one of the hospitals. At first they thought it was a stroke, but then decided he was having breathing/oxygen issues. Finally got him on some medicine and let him go home.

Started having huge breathing problems so they called another ambulance. They stopped at two hospitals, but they didn't have an emergency room, and they wouldn't admit him.  Finally got him into one, but he passed away while there. It was a sad time for us, as we had become pretty close. My wife had 12 siblings, now three of them have passed.

There are lot's of smaller hospitals there, but some don't have full time doctors or have limited facilities.

  2. I'm with @tragusa3 on his concerns about volume. Is this a bar you want people to be able to converse easily or have to raise their voices to be heard?

The main reason klipsch will work so well for a bar is the intelligibility.

If all drivers work (woofer, and two compression drivers for the midrange and tweeter) the crossovers can be fixex/updated/retored to original specs.

If the Belle Klipsch cabinets are in nice shape, they have probably not been abused. Lascalas often have been as a lot of bands hauled them around or used them for P.A. A lot will depend on the price.

Nice seeing the speakers were the first thing in the house.

My first wife and I moved quite a number of times, both before and after having kids. The audio gear was always the first thing set up in the new apartment or house. That way we could always have music as we unpacked in the new digs.

She was also at the new place directing movers ( be they friends or paid) where to place all the heavy stuff. Usually, most everything was set up at the end of the day. That did get more difficult by the time we had three kids in tow.

  4. While I drink more coffee than hot tea these days, my late wife would make a teapot full pretty often. This popped up in a FB post...

“In Ireland, you go to someone's house, and she asks you if you want a cup of tea. You say no, thank you, you're really just fine. She asks if you're sure. You say of course you're sure, really, you don't need a thing. Except they pronounce it ting. You don't need a ting. Well, she says then, I was going to get myself some anyway, so it would be no trouble. Ah, you say, well, if you were going to get yourself some, I wouldn't mind a spot of tea, at that, so long as it's no trouble and I can give you a hand in the kitchen. Then you go through the whole thing all over again until you both end up in the kitchen drinking tea and chatting.

In America, someone asks you if you want a cup of tea, you say no, and then you don't get any damned tea.

I liked the Irish way better.”

  5. Jeff, the coaxial and optical connections on the DAC are digital. The usb type C port will connect to either a usb C on your computer/laptop.

If you are running MS Windows, in your sound settings you will choose the DAC as an output.

Your usb on the laptop must provide the power. Not all do.

  6. I have three different audio interfaces I can use on with my computers/laptops. They are for recording on my computer, so they each have an adc and dac. I keep moving up the chain. The first is a 2 Channel, that now serves on my PC. I bought a Presonus 4 in/out at a used book/record/cd/odd electronics store. I took a  chance, but it works great. I have a setup where I can record a stereo track/video on my phone, using good microphones while simultaneously recording 4 separate tracks to my laptop for later adjustments/mix down.

The third is an 8 input interface, bought new. They all work fine, and I often use any of the three simply as a dac. I don't do anything over 96k, and usually do 88.2. Don't overthink it.

Just curious as to how they might sound and/or measure.

Hey Claude... soon, soon.  After picking those up, I got the Dayton woofers. Josh recalculated the throats for those and they actually look to be a little big for those woofers. The throat opening also gets out to the surround area. JWC said just throw them in and listen.

Anyway, Josh cut some inserts to make the size more correct and to make the expansion better. Pics of what he cut for me attached.

Then I went through 38 radiation treatments. While I'm now testing ok, the androgen blocker has messed with the hormones and I'm pretty beat at the end of the day. I've gotten some other 'had to do' projects mostly caught up. I started getting the Snails finished up.

They will be staying here. 😉
