  1. Did you really have to use a router or could you have mounted the horn without the driver and put the driver on through the woofer mounting hole? I really can't imagine they would expect you to do modify the cabinet to install the upgrade. Are you keeping the rest of the HII guts or selling them? Bruce
  2. At this rate, they will have to start another division of Klipsch just ot keep up with the orders... [*-)]
  3. Little Ricky - the son of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, on the I love Lucy show. Desi played a struggling orchestra leader Ricky Ricardo. That was one funny show.
  4. Travis, COngrats! Great you could work it out. They will be beautiful, I am sure. The oil finish will really bring out whatever grain pattern there is with the sapele. Glad to hear someone is going to paint the horns another color. Makes the Oris horns beautiful... I'm sure it will work for yours. Bruce
  5. Ben, that is SWEEEEEEETTTT!!!! Congrats on the new instrument. Whenever I get something new like that I start paying all the time... all the time... all the time...
  6. You could use the HII parts to make a Tangent 400. A larger cabinet (mostly taller) with ports, that will give you better bass than the Heresy or Heresy II. Simple cabinet build.
  7. What a generalization. I actually know quite a few jazz musicians who are straight. They avoid drugs, and some of them have never even tried drugs.
  8. Ya gotta love the college dorms, Jay. My sons is the same way. A lot of campuses have cetralized heating plants and pump steam to all the buildings. It is really pretty efficient, even though you wonder how when everyone opens their windows in Jan. and Feb.
  9. Rigma built his own bass bins and then the passive crossovers per Roy's design. His bass bins are abolutely beautiful. He had a long thread on the build process. Very impressive. Attached is a pic. The beautiful fronts draw you eyes away form the giant 402 horn, IMO. Still don't see why you couldn't paint the 402 the way folks have done with their Oris horns.Bruce
  10. My winter temp has been set on 69, and the summer is around 78... You guys make me feel bad having the winter temp set so high. My last electric bill was $139, which is really high for me. I discovered a couple of holes in the duct work under the house where some mice have been playing. It will help as soon as I patch those.
  11. What I want to know is just how soon the Jubilees will be outselling the Khorn? It seems like the snowball is really starting to pick up speed.....
  12. Craig (NOSValves) is pretty much a one man shop, but his amps are nice. I haven't heard them yet, but the new Heresy III knocks the socks off of the older models. Depending on the room you have you could check those out. ... but then you are thinking of Khorns... way cool.
  13. I was going to ask what the white stuff was....[]
  14. Oh YEAH! The Crowns rock! Now your talking'. [Y]
  15. The Juicy Music Audio tube gear is great (preamps and power amps), but it is pricey if you can't find it used. A fairly new company with a long history behind the owner. NOSValves power amps, his VRDs rock great too. Made in Michigan. Again, pricey for the new and uninitiated. What kind of music do you listen to? How loud do you want it? CDs only, or is vinyl in the mix as well? Room size? All these can make a difference on what we would recommend. You into home theater? That would change the game plan a bit. Other used tube gear would be HH Scott, Fisher, Dynaco. Do you have a specific budget to work from? Bruce
  16. See my comment above. If you make them no bigger than about 800 pixels wide you shouldn't have a problem uploading them to the Klipsch site. But you have to use their insert link.
  17. When you go to post a message, there is an options tab where you can browse to your pic. Once you choose your pic you must save it. In that window, you may have to scroll to the right to see the save button. (still an issue with the new forum software) If you don't save it, it won't be there. That is to upload from your pc, not put in a link to it. Bruce
  18. I would be more tempted, although they cost a little bit more, to try one of the PrimaLuna amps. http://www.upscaleaudio.com/view_category.asp?cat=96
  19. That's just too funny, Claude. Pretty large system for the office.[:|]
  20. Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood; aim for the chopping block. — Annie Dillard
  21. The K-bar is a classic. I really like the old stacked leather on the old style ones. A friend of mine still has the one his dad used while serving in the Pacific in WWII. Can't wait to hear your review of the conversion from HHII to III. Bruce
  22. In the pic with the LSII, the BBX sure looks nice...[]
  23. It was the sniping at each other over about criminal elements... I'm cool with it. Nice collection.
  24. I went to a Moody Blues concert on acid once... but that was when I was younger.Play guitar, try to learn to play guitar, play with computers.
