  2. Tom, My folks had a Yorkie that was relatively calm. Cute pup for sure. Marvel
  3. The only concerts I have paid for in the past ten years have been symphony concerts. We have a free series of more contemporary music in Chattanooga every summer. Artists have included: Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Richard Thompson, Maura O'Connell, John Hiatt, San Bush, Doc Watson, Cajun bands, various jazz groups. It's been going on for years. You still get the drunks making noise, as it's outside and they sell beer there. Some nights are better than others. Marvel

You are dealing with ones and zeros, all of the same amplitude (on or off). If the are over a certain value, they are ones, if below a certain value they are zeros. The issue will be the analog output of the DAC, and how it matches the analog source where they both connect to the summing buss (or source selector, etc.). Marvel
  5. Dave, Some things just don't mate well. My HIIs with my Dynaco ST-70 (well, it WAS an ST-70) sounds very warm and balanced. Even has tight, well defined bass. A little leaner on SS. This is driving it with my mixer (Alesis 16 channel). One of my favorite albums is Phil Keaggy's "Lights of Madrid". On one song, the violins were almost unbearable with SS, but with tubes it is much smoother and tolerable. Marvel
  6. Dave, Congrats on the playback. Wish I was "there". Wanted to pass this interface along. RME Fireface800 Firewire interface that will do 24/192. More inputs than you can use and awesome specs. 1ms latency, etc. Marvel
  7. Here is a box I made for some of my gear. The inside width was exactly 19". I would go 1/8 to 1/4 over that on another one if doing again (I will at some point. I used Raxxess rails (I think), threaded 10/32. You can get rails that have larger holes and use a captive nut, that you then place in the position that you need. In some ways this is nice, because you can remove the nut if you strip the threads. Marvel
  8. My wife calls it "sprockets and gears"! We like to see the hardware and they don't. Except my wife really likes the glow of tubes when the lights are down low. Having the back of the rack accessible from another room would be very acceptable to me. Much cheaper than a rollout rack too. Marvel
  9. Really go with some of the early advice and just listen to them a good while before trying anything. It will give you a base to work from. I have Heresy IIs. I love them. My son has Heresys. I love them. There are slight differences between them. He has moved his tweeters to be mounted from the front. (required removing the driver from the horn. Putting horn through the front and re-attaching driver. Plus beveling the hole so the horn would fit flat). Makes a bit of difference, but you could leave them too. Congrats on the acquisition. 10. m00n, On a technical level, Firefox and Mozilla adhere more strictly to HTML standards. In other words, you can write sloppier code and still have it work on IE. Firefox doesn't use any activeX controls, so you rcomputer is far safer with it. You can download a plugin for FF that will allow the use of activeX controls if you want to. Maybe for those sites that require their use. I can do weeks of browsing with no spyware on my PC, and I haven't had a Windows box be a crash test machine for years. No more than OSX anyway. Marvel
  11. Got no wood yet Got $900 my dealer wants to fix the airconditioning in my car? I am NOT going to fix the air yet. Or I'll put a new compressor on myself. Marvel
  12. The K33 and I believe the K43 are both sourced from Eminence. K55x is sourced from Atlas I'm not sure about the newer tweeters.
  13. Firefox 1.0.2 Who needs the rich text.
  14. Dana, You aren't showing that correctly for a 3x13 slot. It should look like below. Then, even with a 3" base on the splitter, you aren't going to be constricting the wave as it turns the corner. With a 3" base, the full width of the slot is covered. Marvel
  15. I love the Oris horns. They don't come cheap though. And the drivers are too rich for my blood. You can use one of the Fostex drivers on them too, something like an FE206 or 207. Those are only about $85 each. Marvel
  16. Check with Erik on the Baldwin. I think that is what Born2RockU has in his setup and Erik went over it or tweaked it a little. Marvel
  17. Shawn, The chapel at the college where I work is a huge!!! cavern. It was built this way to hold a large pipe organ. Alas, like many Protestant endeavors (oops, sorry), the money for the organ wasn't forthcoming. The room was made this size so that the lowest notes (32ft pipes) could be reproduced undistorted. Yes, we can still hear those low frequencies. No doubt about it. Fr. Bill doesn't need to make a believer out of me, I already am. But the larger tuned room will still sound better. OTOH, the room stinks for most everything else. The reverberant field is too large and again, for lack of money, isn't going to be fixed anytime soon. It is a miracle that those small diaphragm mics can catch the music at all isn't it? Marvel
  18. You can make the base the 3" like I said. Then do the 45 degree cuts. The 'peak' won't be more than 3", and will still easily fit in the channel space (only 1 1/2 " tall). If you want it to be 3" tall to meet the 3x13" opening, the base needs to be 6". I realize that Andy had it at 2 1/4" as did Jim on his pdf set of plans. That piece barely touches the four wing pieces, so it wouldn't help much with the attachment of them
  19. customsteve, You must be using Internet Explorer. With Firefox, you can right click on the image and then go to view image. I actually just placed html to resize the graphic on the fly. They are the same uploads as the big pictures. You can right click and save it to your pc for viewing later, and the saved image will be the larger ones. Nice drawings. D-Man - I'm still working on those of yours. Had some unexpected things come up, and it's slowing me down. Sigh! Marvel
  20. The silicone can also cause some glues to release. Certainly best to stay away from them. Not to be confused with silicone sealant, however. Marvel
  21. Be nice to make them fit though. Right click and choose "view image" for full size. speced.gif
  22. Just don't crush that dwarf! Marvel
  23. Tom, I work a a small college. One of the profs there said his problem was that he was getting older and the students weren't They didn't dress the same when we were younger either. Marvel
  24. Yo Craig, Have you ever tried a 6L6 in an ST-70. The 6L6 has a lower heater current. Been thinking.... Had a few folks say it would work. Dynaco manual says that you can use a KT66 if you need to. Marvel
