  1. Ya, much as one would like to blame parents, I can't imagine whomever would, has children. This is taking this particular situation into consideration, of course, and is my opinion on this situation. Stuff happens, and unfortunately, this is one of the times the outcome was bad. It is what it is. Like me, when I was around 2 years old, I unlocked and walked out the door at like 3 in the morning. Nobody was awake to be a "responsible parent". I was found walking down the street by a cop, and my responsible parents followed the cherries and there I was, sitting in the cop car. The cop completely understood, and nothing came of it. What would happen given this same situation in these modern times? Who knows.....
  2. The 2270 Marantz, though not cap coupled, is about the same sound as the 2230, 1060, etc.... A nice improvement in the phono section over the ones you listed also.
  3. A1UC is now required to rent bandwidth space on the forum.
  4. Cut the EQ out completely! Bigger little thing.....
  5. A1UC and Logic should never be in the same sentence!
  6. This thread should have died a long time ago....
  7. I am in Tulsa myself. Not far at all. Pleased to meet you! Welcome to Klipsch! So newbie, what brings you here? Hope you stick around. Could use a few more Okies around here, that's for sure.....
  8. If you're into that sort of thing I suppose
  9. What are these Pendulum things anyways?
  10. All the lame-brain questions you ask me all the time, I'm proud to be an Okie!!!
  11. Yes it is customary to charge for "footwork." However, they are now one owner generation older. Additionally, they have incurred wear and tear from another move, repositioning probably took its toll and playing it through your inferior equipment didn't do them any good. ;-O Geez...I better stop befoe you have to pay me to take them off your hands! befoe ? you from Oklahoma I live in the Sooner state and take offense at that. The word we would use is fixing, as in 'Before too much longer you will be fixing to pay me to take them off your hands'. Please don't insult us Okies, it is bad enough we have to put up with Texans. I'm an Okie too, and I'm OK with that.
  12. Oklahoman's say befer. Get it right.
  13. Give the preamp the ol rap test. Slap the top/sides of it to see if anything happens. Bad connection will do it also. I slap/rock all gear several times before it leaves my bench while testing. This works very well at finding stupid problems!! Read this article. Accuphase uses a vibrating table!! https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiZ68fPz9DMAhVD6iYKHUsLClYQFggcMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.planetofsoundonline.com%2Fpages%2Faccuphase-factory-visit&usg=AFQjCNEIzTRfK0h7KJAYlWMRRsp9FY64jQ&sig2=yEvIUc5Rk8B7Y03tfdy7CA
  14. Did you try cycling all the switches to possibly find the offender?? 9 times out of 10 it is a dirty control causing the issue. Put it on the quieter channel, cycle the switches one by one, see if you can get it to act right. This is old gear, so I wouldn't blame the tech. Stuff happens man. Might take it back to him and see if he can make it right. One has to be a bit understanding running old gear.
  15. The pre, source, or the cables are at fault. You get to figure out which one!!
  16. It could be variance in them old controls, but if it is as significant as you say, I think there is an issue. Swapping just the RCA cables means it is the preamp, or possibly the source. Now it is time to swap the left/right RCA's on the source! Could also be the interconnects themselves causing this. Process of elimination my friend. You can figure this out! Which RCA Cables make the difference, either the pre or the source. Then change the offending cables for another set to see if that fixes it. If not, you have a pre or source issue.
  17. You need to make sure it is the amp. I would blame the preamp first, due to controls possibly being dirty, and more areas for the signal to get weak. Simply swap the left right rca's and see if your other channel gets louder.
  18. My bias pots are still in place, rock solid. Nothing at all wrong with his strategy according to my results. Some people should never touch a screwdriver!
  19. You can relegate it to my trash bin ANYTIME! Curious to your thoughts on this one....
